Description
This is a marvellous semi-detached eco-house in the village of Freshwater on the Isle of Wight.
Partly powered by solar panels, it has refreshing decor and is located right in the heart of Freshwater, making this an ideal spot for a family holiday.
Step through the splendid porch and enter into the rejuvenating, bright kitchen diner, decorated with calming creams, tans and mint greens, creating a soothing environment in this immaculate room, the perfect place for family meals.
The airy hall leads you towards the large family sitting room, with comfortable sofas sat in front of the TV, complete with Freeview and a DVD player if you fancy a cosy, lazy day.
The downstairs is complete with a cloakroom and storage underneath the stairs.
Heading up the stairs finished with exquisite spiraling handrails, they lead you to an upstairs with three dazzling, pristine bedrooms and a large, classy family bathroom.
To the back of the property through the patio doors is a patio area complete with contemporary furniture, a BBQ and lawned area, perfect to relax in after a long day of exploring all that Freshwater has to offer.
Freshwater sits at the most Western point of the Isle of Wight.
Despite being on a small island, it is a village with a whole lot to offer, including independent shops and cafes, along with more extreme activities such as surfing.
Outside of Freshwater, the Isle of Wight has an whole lot else to offer.
Just 5 miles away sits the oldest town on the island, Yarmouth.
Full of narrow streets and passages, it is a place that holds a lot of culture including Henry VIII's castle along with an array of surrounding beaches.
A stunning house set in an extremely interesting area of the Isle of Wight, most certainly a different place to spend a holiday.

What guests are saying
Overall we really liked our accomodation, beautifully furnished and well equipped.
There were maintenance issues which have not been addressed which I would like to note as follows; Kitchen - Only one bin so had to place a black plastic bag for recyclables on the floor in the opposite corner. Had to buy Oust kettle descaler to descale the kettle. Downstairs toilet - the tap swivelled and needs attention. Upstairs bathroom - light did not work on the mirror, the shower head was leaking all over the place from the base of the head because it was not screwed on properly. Suggest the head needs a descale. The sink taps swivelled. Parking - a tree had fallen over a third of the allocated parking space. This made it difficult to identify the parking space for number 4 on arrival, and also our car did not fit in the space! Do hope this constructive feedback helps.
Sadly needs some involved maintenance - taps were very loose on their fittings, toilet seats not fit for purpose (men only), shower hose far too high for shorter folk, radio u/s, soft edges of mattress mad it difficult to get out of bed, large tree blew down on our designated parking space (fortunately whilst we were out).
Otherwise ease of getting in to property was good, heating/hot water excellent. Sykes needs to review its systems for periodic inspections!
We enjoyed our stay at the Old Smithy, the house was well equipped and in a great location.
Having the beach so close was a real bonus.
