  • "We very much enjoyed our stay at The Limes."

    It’s one of the best holiday homes we’ve stayed in, well equipped, spacious and comfortable with a lovely garden. The drinks, biscuits and generous voucher for the local Deli provided by the owners helped to make us feel very welcome. It’s well located, overlooking the village green and only a minute’s walk from the cafe or the pub! There are more facilities, including an artisan baker, just up the road in Bembridge. We found it easy to get around the island from St Helen’s and we loved St Helen’s Duver beach, as did our furry boy! We would definitely stay again when we next return to the island.

  • "We had a very enjoyable stay at The Limes."

    There was everything that we needed for our holiday stay. Thank you for the welcome pack and gift voucher for No. 8 cafe and farm shop in Bembridge. The house was delightful and the enclosed garden ideal for Kofi our Sheltie. We would definitely consider returning again.

  • "Lovely homely property, close to the sea and other attractions on the island."

    Very comfortable beds, we all slept very well and we especially enjoyed sitting in the sun area off the kitchen watching the birds in the garden.

  • "We were 2 couples and a small dog and we stayed for 1 week at the Limes."

    We had a fantastic time and the Limes was an exceptional property! The beds were comfortable, the rooms spacious and the cottage was one of the best equipped we have ever stayed in, even down to the spices available in the kitchen. The owners very generously left milk and wine in the fridge, coffee and tea, and a £0 voucher for a fabulous local fruit and vegetable shop which was much appreciated. We had gorgeous weather all week, cold but no rain and we took advantage of the many walks available on the island. thanks again for letting us rent your lovely cottage, we thoroughly recommend you to others.

  • "Had a lovely relaxing time with every home comfort provided, including use of the owners’ piano, which was a welcome addition to play."

    We did not use the upstairs rooms by choice, but found the downstairs facilities comprehensive with a comfortable double bed and bathroom with good shower. Easy and prompt communication with the owner over a hot water/heating issue which was resolved. Our two small dogs enjoyed the secure rear garden. The kitchen annexe sitting room was our favourite place to sit. Appreciated the useful welcome pack too. A home from home experience.

    Great place to stay , comfortable , ideal location due to us having relatives both in Seaview and Bembridge , definitely recommend this cottage to stay , lively welcome pack too, didn’t realise straight away but the wine was called Ned , and that is the name of our dog

  • "The Limes is truly a home from home, with all the comforts you need for a perfect stay."

    It is perfectly situated on the green in St. Helen's to easily access the beaches at Bembridge and St. Helen's, which are a short drive away, and other local attractions. The welcome pack was most welcome and very generous, including tea, coffee & milk, which was helpful. Its location is peaceful and quiet, and The Vine pub being just a stroll away was perfect, be sure to book a table in advance! The information pack provided by the owner was also very informative. Thank you, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, hope to return soon!

  • "We had a lovely time at The Limes."

    Very comfortable, plenty of room for the 5 of us, delightful garden - location on St Helens green is fab, very generous welcome pack, comms with owners was excellent. Only suggestion might be to provide a bit more clear/empty space for visitors food storage in the kitchen, but we would definitely re-book The Limes.

    Pretty south facing garden with room to sit and enjoy the sun. Comfortable beds, plenty of space for 3 couples. Would happily book it again if we return to the Isle of Wight.

  • "Not so much a holiday home, more a home from home."

    A much loved home that provided us with everything we could possibly need. Very comfortable, very quiet and convenient location with walks from the door. The kitchen has every conceivable implement although it took some time to track everything down as so much to choose from. Secure garden for my friend's dog and a pleasant outlook from the garden room. The owners' artwork from their travels adds a quirky and interesting dimension to this home.

  • "Really nice bungalow, only 2 of us and a dog so no need to use upstairs ( lovely though it was ) Lovely position by the green, we enjoyed some meals in the Vine pub at the top of the road and walks into Bembridge."

    Garden fully secure for dogs. I would say any disabled person may find some hazards, loose rugs,steps indoors and out even on the ground floor.

  • "A very comfortable and homely house."

    We felt warmly welcomed and appreciated all the goodies left for us to enjoy. The kitchen was especially well equipped which was a benefit as I like to cook. There was a slight whiff in the fridge, which did look clean I might add, but smelt a little musty. Thank you for trusting us with your treasures- my daughter had a play on the piano and we enjoyed playing the resonating gong!

  • "Nice spot on the green."

    Lovely walks close by. Quirky features such as the gong in the hall which I rang for breakfast (but I still had to get my own!!). Big kitchen and snug and welcome air con for cool air (it was hot on our stay). Secluded quite garden. And best of all a generous welcome pack from the hosts including a voucher to spend in a local shop. Thank you so much.

  • "The property was very comfortable and well equipped, as well as fascinating with its delightfully quirky ornamentation."

    The addition of an EV charger made life very easy for us, allowing us to explore the island without the worry of where we might find a charger. The owner's communication was superb and the welcoming goodies was a lovely touch. A big thank you to the owner for a wonderful stay. We would happily stay there again.

This delightful, detached cottage overlooks St. Helen’s Green on the scenic Isle of Wight.

Boasting a character feel over two floors, The Limes is a traditional home for families eager to access the many delights of this island.

Upon arrival, park up in the conveniently located off-road parking spaces before getting to know your new home from home.

The open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge areas offer plenty of space for communal living with that cosy traditional feel, appointed with a host of integrated appliances including a range cooker along with a standard electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer and an adjacent utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer.

Spend your down time in the sitting room, wonderfully presented with a woodburning stove and plush seating for six people.

There’s also a formal dining room where you can host special family meals.

As you seek some shut eye, three tastefully presented bedrooms await, including the king-size master and two doubles, with one situated on the ground floor which is ideal for those with limited mobility.

ST HELENS

Bembridge 2 miles; Ryde 5 miles.

The village of St Helens lies in a coastal position on high ground, on the eastern side of the Isle of Wight, between Bembridge and Seaview. St Helens is a traditional English village, with the village green at the centre of village life, providing cricket and football pitches, a children’s playground and superb views right across Bembridge Harbour and Culver Down. The village also offers superb restaurants, pub, newsagent, Post Office and grocery store. A short walk takes you to The Duver, an NT area of shingle and sand, and once the site of a Royal links golf course. The beach here is very family friendly, with sand and shingle, perfect for making sandcastles and collecting seashells as well as crabbing off the Bembridge Harbour Causeway. There is the popular Baywatch Café, with all the amenities you need for the perfect day at the beach, and stunning views of the Solent and St Helens Fort. The fort was built to protect Portsmouth from a French invasion between 1867 and 1880, and at the lowest tide of the summer, there is a mass walk of up to 2000 people from the beach out to the fort and back again, with driftwood fires and barbecues.
