Description
A picture perfect detached cottage resting in the popular and highly-regarded village of Bembridge on the Isle of Wight, The Wash House is a wonderful retreat for six guests.
Offering comforts including a woodburning stove and ground-floor living, The Wash House is perfect for a couples' break or a family holiday.
Step onto the oak floor of the kitchen, admiring the cream units and excellent appliances in here, including a Rangemaster cooker with a gas hob, so you can whip up delicious home-cooked meals.
Head through the folding oak doors and into the living/dining room, a lovely large room with views out to the rear garden through the double French doors, with a centrally positioned woodburning stove to warm you on a cool night as you settle on the soft seating to enjoy watching TV.
Open up the French doors in the summer and step out into the garden, enjoying alfresco dining on the patio or sunbathing on the lawn, it's a lovely space to enjoy.
The ground floor boasts two bedrooms, both with double beds, ample storage and attractive décor, one boasting doors out to the garden terrace.
Serving these bedrooms is the ground-floor shower room, whilst upstairs, discover a lovely bathroom complete with a bath and separate walk-in shower with marble-effect subway tiling, it's a gorgeous space to freshen up.
Finally the third bedroom is another double built into the pitch of the roof but still offering full head height, with Velux windows to flood in the natural light.
The location of The Wash House is right in the heart of Bembridge, and just a stone's throw from the coast with a short walk bringing you to the famous Crab and Lobster Inn and The Beach Hut café.
Settled on the most easterly point of the Isle of Wight, Bembridge is home to three beaches, a harbour and even it's own airport and won 'Village of the Year' in the Countryfile Magazine Awards 2019. Explore the lovely beaches of Lane End, the Ledge and Bembridge Beach with a mix of pebbles, sand and rocks, each one is unique with rockpools to find and beautiful views to enjoy.
Take a relaxing stroll over to the harbour to see the boats bobbing in the waters, with opportunities for fishing trips, chartering boats and sea cruises all available here for a memorable day out.
Visit one of the Isle of Wight's most recognisable pieces of architecture, Bembridge Windmill resting on the outskirts of the village, now owned by the National Trust, or take a walk over to the see the natural timber building of Bembridge Lifeboat station standing offshore.
Enjoy a day out to one of the island's many attractions like Wildheart Animal Sanctuary or the Amazon World Zoo, head to The Garlic Farm Shop and Restaurant or take a detour up to the Isle of Wight Steam Railway.
The towns of Ryde, Newport and even Cowes are all within easy driving distance, with a host of events held across the island every year, most notably the regattas and sailing competitions in Cowes.

What guests are saying
Property and position great.
The electric showers were great but no hot water from taps or towel rails were cold all the time. It was getting chilly first thing in morning and evening but the boiler was locked and thermostat off. We called the owner for advice and he didn't believe us, said 'we didn't need it' and he'd get back to us but heard nothing more. Used kettle for hot water and blankets for warmth. Bedroom needed warming. Very disappointing. Hope this has been sorted for next guests. Isle of Wight lovely.
Lovely property in Bembridge ideal for touring the Isle of Wight.
Most of the accommodation is on ground level as you would find in a bungalow with a master bedroom with en suite upstairs. Situated in a quiet location with secluded garden.
Good location next to the sea and an excellent pub.
Spacious accommodation with comfy beds and well equipped kitchen. Easy to get to the attractions of the island. We had a lovely week enjoying it.
