1 Tulse Hill Cottages

Excellent location in Ventnor.

Suzanne was very responsive and informative. Although the parking was a separate cost, the car park was only 5 minutes walk from the property. We would definitely recommend the property and hope to return. It's a light, clean, warm and relaxing house with it's secure back garden for the dog. The front patio has a gate so most dogs wouldn't be able to get under it and can watch the passers-by walking down the street. Dog treats, bowls, toys nd big dog bed also provided. Kitchen had all amenities and utensils you need and we have stayed in a lot of properties. Slept really well. It's just off the high Street but is not impacted by any noise. The information book is very detailed about the workings of the house and places of interest. Lovely big shower. Highly recommend this property.

Well, what can I say.

. I came alone with my dog ( my son joined me for the last two days). From unpacking the car into the hallway before parking, it felt like home. The Grove car park is a 2 minute walk, it is £70 for the week but you can park at any council car park too, so well worth it. The cottage kitchen has literally everything you could need, although the can opener didn’t work, I had a tuna less pasta bake but that didn’t matter

Really comfortable cottage!

Well equipped, perfectly situated for the town and its shops and its various and varied eateries, the buses and, most importantly, the seafront! Yes, there’s a short steep approach to the cottage, but we knew that and to be honest it’s worth the effort, just like the walk down to and back up from the seafront. We had breakfast on the lovely terrace in the garden and enjoyed a coffee up there too - an added bonus whilst the weather was good! We got the tourist parking permit for the week and the car park was just 3 minutes walk away and so very handy. Everyone we met, both locals and tourists, were friendly and helpful. We wouldn’t hesitate to go back to 1 Tulse Hill Cottage again!

Great cottage!

Great location and lovely property owner, very helpful

Well located within a minute of the shopping area, well equipped, lovely raised sitting area at the rear, good shower with plenty of hot water, comfortable bed in main bedroom.

Car park under a 5 minute walk and also handy Co op and Tesco for buying supplies. Had a great stay at this cottage and think it's good value. Would stay again.

We had a fabulous stay.

The beds were so comfortable and the kitchen was very well equipped, which is unusual for a holiday let. We loved the little garden and we have had the most amazing weather for our stay. The shower is lovely and powerful. It really did just feel like home from home. We would definitely come back. Parking was fine too with plenty of spaces available. We had a very relaxing break

Clean and well equipped, highly recommended.

The condition of the cottage was very good.

The bathroom was spotless and looked as if it had been refurbished recently. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. Had the weather been a little warmer we would have enjoyed having breakfast in the garden. Location was excellent, very close to the beach and shops and restaurants. I had no trouble parking in Wheelers Bay car park which was free of charge. Our dog was made most welcome with a jar of dog biscuits and a comfy dog bed downstairs.

A very comfortable cosy cottage with everything you need for a very enjoyable stay.

I would recommend as a lovely place to stay for a relaxing Isle of Wight holiday.

I cannot recommend this property strongly enough.

It is very central in Ventnor with supermarkets. chemists and pubs literally. 2 minutes’ walk away. 5 more minutes takes you along Pier street to the breathtaking spectacle overlooking Ventnor Bay and the unbroken horizon of the Channel . I visited in early January and the property couldn’t have been cosier. The gas central heating was quick and efficient, It is controlled with a portable device so you can start it off in the morning from your bed. Very handy! There’s also a very efficient electric log effect fire in the lounge. To the rear there is access to a charming area of decking with nice views of the Church and Ventnor’s subtropical palms . In January it felt a little like Madeira! Out of season there’s loads of free parking 5 minutes away on Park Avenue. I also commend the owner whom i contacted when I managed to confuse the heating controller. She was very patient with me and tried to solve it for me but then asked a handyman to pay a visit. He was there in minutes and was polite and helpful and didn’t point out it was all my fault! So if you want a central well-equipped home in Ventnor, 1 Tulse Hill is the place to be! Fantastic! I forgot to mention the great wi-fi, comfy beds, en-suite bathroom, quiet neighbours and two loos!

Would definitely book again. Could the owner let people know where free car parks are as parking all over the island is expensive.

The cottage is perfect for a stay in Ventnor. Close to shops, bus stop & car parks, it is ideal for exploring locally, or further afield. Perfectly dog friendly, the cottage was great for 3 adults & our 2 pups. It is clean, cosy & well equipped. Suzanne is responsive & helpful. We wouldn't hesitate to book again. Thank you!

Super little cottage - very cosy and extremely well presented.

A lovely deck in the back garden - perfect on a sunny day. Close to the High Street and only a short walk to the Esplanade. Parking a car at the property is not possible and so there is a need to add the cost of using one of the nearby public car parks. We found the IOW tourist permit (£70) ideal as this allowed us to park anywhere on the island for the whole week. Only slight problem is that the cottage is located at the bottom of a very steep hill and this could make things difficult for those that may have walking difficulties.

If you are a family who may want to save money by catering for yourself, this cottage is not for you.

The kitchen was so narrow and small it made any form of cooking tricky. Apart from the fridge there is no where to store food There is a toilet at the far end of the kitchen which can only be accessed if there is no one else in the kitchen. The cottage is quaint and cosy but space is at a premium which can be over powering at times. The hill from the town is short but very very steep. Not for the faint hearted.

Beautiful home in Ventnor, perfect for our family of four.

Spotlessly clean and comfortable, we've been to the Isle of Wight three times now but this is the first time we'd go back to the same house. Very close to all the amenities, but generally a quiet spot. Lots of nice places to eat nearby. Host is really responsive and helpful.

We stayed at the beautiful Tulse Hill cottage and were impressed by everything!

The cottage location is superb for all the great amenities in Ventnor, which made our holiday so easy. The decor and cleanliness of the cottage is five star ! It felt like home from home and everything had been thought through to ensure maximum comfort. The outdoor deck area is lovely and added an option to sit in the sun whilst there too. We would return to stay here as cannot fault anything at all ! A great place to stay !

Lovely cottage in a great location to visit Ventnor.

We are seasoned holiday cottage visitors and this has to be the best cottage we have stayed in.

Everything had been anticipated by the owners. The photos online don’t really do the cottage justice, especially the garden which is lovely and not at all too steep. Ventnor has some great places to eat out and we loved the microclimate.

This is the second time we have stayed in Tulse Hill Cottage.

It is charming, comfortable and clean, and the location is excellent for the high street & bus stop whilst being very quiet. Beach is only a short walk away.

We spent a very happy week in the cottage, which was well presented and generally very comfortable.

We also enjoyed the fact that we were very near the town centre shops, and the beach and buses.The only slight drawback was the Jack and Jill bathroom, but in an old character cottage this was a practical solution.

Really lovely and cosy holiday cottage.

Just the right size for two people. Had everything we needed for a few days. Parking never a problem in the town car park. Tourist permit was really good price compared to their hourly charges for parking. Only negative is the bedroom curtains and blinds. Even with the blinds and curtains closed the light still comes in as they don’t really block the light.

My husband and I, our two boys aged 11 and 12 and our dog stayed at Tulse Hill cottage from Monday 30th- Friday 2nd Nov and we had a wonderful stay.

The cottage was in a great location close to shops, pubs and the beach front. Even though we had to park on a nearby carpark this was quick to walk to and there was always a space available. The cottage itself was a great place to stay, well kept, and clean. We had everything we needed. There were lovely little touches from the host such as a bottle of Prosecco on arrival (the trip was for my husband’s birthday) and she even messaged to check we were ok with the weather - storm Ciaran Overall great value for money and highly recommended

Lovely cottage right in the heart of Ventnor.

The cottage is well furnished and comfortable, equipped with all we needed for a great few days on the island. The beds and pillows were super comfy! We had a great time.

The cottage is perfect!

Really nicely decorated, comfortable and in a great location. We had easy access to local cafes, pubs and restaurants. Ventnor is a interesting and characterful place with a lovely beach and esplanade. We were glad we based ourselves here. The efficient bus service ensured we could get around the island to visit lots of places of interest. Thank you Suzanne for quick and easy communication. We highly recommend this accommodation.

The cottage is wonderful. It has everything we needed for our stay. We took the advice of the owner & bought a car parking permit. This worked brilliantly for our days out across the island. The cottage is dog-friendly & our 2 had a comfortable stay! We would love to return. Thank you.

Lovely little cottage, located in an ideal position.

Parking isn’t a problem in one of the towns car parks. Cottage is well equipped and very clean. If I had to find any criticisms, the tv in the lounge had very limited channels, but really no reasons to be sat in front of the tv as ventnors scenery is far more appealing!!! Would definitely book the cottage again!!! Thank you for looking after us so well.

I stayed here for a few days and immediately wished I'd booked for longer.

The cottage is beautiful. I loved the layout and the decoration was very welcoming to make one feel 'at home'. We had absolutely everything we needed within the cottage and it was easy to find. The welcome pack of information was very helpful - we went to the cafe recommended for breakfast with the best coffee and weren't disappointed! They also advertised the local Indian restaurant which we were so pleased with. One staff member in particular took a shine to our baby girl which made the experience so lovely with fantastic customer service throughout and gorgeous food. The cottage is in a great location with just a short walk down hill to the beach and pool type area. We loved that it was more quiet where we were with the option to walk a little bit further to the busier area of the beach. Ventnor is a great place to stay - we thoroughly enjoyed exploring and will be back again so explore more and hope the cottage is available for us to stay in when we do! Suzanne the owner, was very easy to get in touch with and was so helpful letting us know an event going on and the parking situation. Thank you so much for a lovely and regrettably short stay in your lovely cottage. We felt so welcome and relaxed and enjoyed the garden area in the sun, it was so peaceful. Added bonus of having netflix and prime available for settling down in the evening with a glass of wine! Thank you again for a wonderful experience
