Very well convertion - nicely decorated etc.

a few negatives: The bathtub is basically useless as a shower - looks and photos nice but impractical The internal walls are quite thin and sound travels… The hot water broke and getting a plumber to fix seemed problematic - cold showers for a day… One toilet stopped working because of poorly designed internals of tank… Overall happy but would not return

What a beautiful apartment.

It had everything we needed. It was immaculately clean and well decorated with beautifully comfortable beds. We had busy days so stayed in each night with the TV and one of the many games on hand for us to use. There were plenty of blankets to cosy up with if needed but we were very warm and comfortable without them. There's plenty of crockery, pans and dishes to use if you don't take advantage of the local cuisine. The apartment is a little up hill from Ventnor centre itself. Only 2 or 3 mins walk to local shops, take aways and eateries. About 10 mins walk downhill to the sea front. What a gorgeous piece of the coastline with more lovely cafes and bars looking out to sea. It has a lovely little beach with beds if needed but spectacular views along to the more rugged part of the cliffside. No. 5 is in a great spot for public transport, with a bus stop directly outside. We used local buses, every day, to go to and from the ferry as well as all over the island, to visit the many varied attractions. Such a great service....and from our front door. Organising the rental and key handover was very easy. I would be more than happy to stay here again, should I be lucky enough to return to Isle of Wight.

A gorgeous apartment, superbly renovated into a modern, yet homely space.

Fab location, with the shops ,eateries and seafront just a short stroll away. Bus stop outside ,which was a great convenience,we caught the bus to Shanklin with most of them being double deckers the children thought it was a great treat,and probably only cost a little more than if we'd had to park in a car park. The only slight downfall is the parking, not much space outside and on a first come first serve base. However having read other reviews,we were aware of this. We always found somewhere even if a few streets away,like I said also using the bus helped meaning not loosing your parking space. Also a car park just a short walk away which always seemed to have space available just would have meant paying. Overall don't let it put you off, No.5 old church is a superb find. Thanks for having us

Beautifully presented property with wonderful high ceilings.

All the rooms were generously sized and comfortable. Lovely bathroom and decent en-suite. Minor niggles were the cutlery and crockery (just four plates, four knives, four forks etc, not enough to half fill the dishwasher) and an awkward to operate electric hob. Free parking nearby was a problem, even in February ! There are a few council 'pay and display' car parks in and around Ventnor. Overall, we had a wonderful holiday and would definitely return to this property.

We were looking for somewhere to stay with some history and plenty of comfort.

We found this and more at the Old Church. We couldn’t have been more comfortable and we really appreciated the little welcoming touches our host had made. We had a wonderful relaxing stay and enjoyed Ventnor and the rest of the island. The Basque Kitchen is a restaurant is new to Ventnor and the food is a revelation. We loved the warm welcome and the curried goat at the Crab & Lobster Tap. We will be be back we loved our time on the IOW so much. Thank you!

5 Old Church is in an excellent position at the top of the High Street in Ventnor, not far from the seafront. We loved Ventnor as a place to stay for the week, plenty of choice for eating out, great local shops and excellent costal scenery. A definite must for visitors is the botanical gardens and a walk to Steep Hill Cove. The property itself was very comfortable and had all you needed for a weeks break. Only one small criticism was the towels provided, whilst they looked new and very clen, it proved difficult to dry yourself properly with them.

The property was beautiful, spacious and clean.

The view from the windows was amazing! It had all the facilities we needed and more. Very well thought out… loved the extra touches. It’s the first time we have taken our little dog on holiday with us and the gift set was so kind. Thank you

A lovely airy apartment in a brilliant location - just a few minutes walk to some fantastic restaurants in the high street and just a 10 minute walk to the sea and more places to eat and drink.

It is well equipped and we enjoyed chilling in the comfortable living room in the evenings. It has a relaxing zen vibe about it. While it is virtually impossible to park outside - spaces are permanently taken - there is a public car park just a few minutes away.

High quality accommodation, renovated to a high standard.

Beautifully reconverted church building. 5 minute walk into Ventnor and 10 minutes to Beach. Restricted on road parking but always found a space within 2 minutes of the accommodation.

The property was lovely, comfortable, well equipped and very clean.

There were a couple of maintenance issues: - cupboard door was detached from integral fridge - toilet seat in en-suite was loose and deviated towards the basin. - Neither plug in the bathroom basins was water tight.

We had a lovely time at the property!

The home is beautiful, very comfortable and very clean. Everything we needed had been thought of and was available at the property. It's in a great location, only a couple of minutes to walk down to the shops, and 10 minutes walk to get down to the beach. No allocated parking, but we managed to get road side parking very close to the property every day. We would definitely come back and stay again!

As mentioned in previous reviews finding parking space close to the apartment is tricky - even in late April ! We enjoyed using the bus service so this did not affect us too much but may be an issue for others, especially during the summer season.

Lovely property with plenty of space and close to beach and shops.

The holiday property was really good.

A large apartment, very comfy, well furnished and all the equipment you require. However, there were no decent windows to look out of, and those at normal level had frosted glass. There was no outside space to sit and watch the world go by. Parking is a complete disaster with a first come first served basis. Luckily we found a space when we arrived and the car stayed there all week. To make up for this Anglesey has an excellent bus service. The promenade is about half a mile away with very steep slopes to get there. Sorry to the owners for the negative bits I have written as the apartment really is lovely.

First class accomodation , nothing to add , close to Ventnor centre , Crab and Lobster pub gets my vote , and directly on the bus route .

Had a lovely stay.

This property is absolutely stunning and very modern.

It has everything you need. It has lots of things which aren't listed like an air fryer, blender, slow cooker, games, books, pencils and paper for the kids lots of blankets. The little food parcel was a lovely touch. It is very close to a tesco express and a Chinese takeaway. It's a nice short walk to the beach. We were very lucky that we got parked across the road every day, so we didn't need to pay for parking. But the car park isn't far. I would definitely recommend it, but not if you can't manage a lot of stairs. We'd love to go back.

No 5 Old Church is a beautiful apartment, decorated to a very high standard and very well equipped and maintained.

We had a very relaxing enjoyable stay in this property. The rooms are spacious for 4 guests, and having an en suite and separate bathroom is great for 4 adults staying in this property. There is one shower cubicle and the main bathroom has a roll top bath with shower attachment on the bath. We found the king size and super king beds very comfortable and slept well. It was handy having a dishwasher and washing machine and there were enough tablets for both machines for two washes. Thank you for the welcome pack of milk, water, and other treats this was much appreciated. The apartment also has an iron, board and hairdryer. If you like bath sheet size towels take your own but two towels per adult are provided. The apartment is located a five minute walk up the hill from the main high street and opposite the Royal Legion club - handy tip to locate it when you drive down into the town on arrival - as said in the description there is limited parking directly across the road which is free and we managed to park there 3 days out of seven otherwise there is a car park at the bottom of the hill in the town a short walk away where we parked overnight the rest of the time - if you struggle mobility wise this could be an issue ..as might the steps into the property and up the stairs to the first floor. It wasn’t a problem for us and the town is literally down the hill. There’s a handy Co-op and Tesco Express five mins walk down the hill. Highly recommend staying here in this property thank you for a wonderful stay …

The Chapel is superb,very high end, beds comfortable and brilliantly located, no 3 bus stops outside.

It also has all the facilities you need, my only moan is we couldn't park near at all and a cupboard to be left free for food would be great. Mel and Jon were so helpful, we loved our stay. Thank you

Beautiful property in ideal location.

Negatives:no air con or available fans ..weather was hot during our stay and safety windows only able to open couple inches ./decking area disappointing as small and squashed between fence/ building and where bin storage area for 7 other properties situated plus dead plant in pot on decking ..not fit to use so no outdoor space to relax in ./emersion boiler for hot water …easily ran out hot water and only 3 of us using ..wouldn’t coped with 4 people’s demands ./showers very low pressure .

This apartment was wonderful to stay in, spacious, clean and comfortable.

It felt nice and secure and very quiet when we were in the apartment. The only downside is finding parking on the street.

I can't remember if you listed the number of steps required to reach the apartment but as a 79year old I did struggle at times.

Oherwise we have no complaints apart from an extra toilet roll would have been handy in both the bathrooms.. All the decor was beautifully done, very stylish and very comfortable.

It has lovely fittings and furnishings and everything you need for a self-catering stay. Thank you for the goodies you left us, after a long journey it's good to know you don't have to get milk, tea and coffee, bread, shortbread etc for a while. The apartment is ideally situated not far from the shops, beach and activities and we managed to navigate the diversions (due to landslides and roadworks) to travel all over the IOW. Once we worked out the panel heaters we managed to heat up the rooms and when we first arrived we were able to park across the road. It was expensive parking in the car park nearby for the rest of the time and I wouldn't like to do it in high season. It was lovely staying in Ventnor again. Thank you for letting us stay at No 5.

A well thought out conversion with much attention to detail.

The welcome pack was appreciated. The downside was having to find parking but that was ok if you are prepared to spend time and a bit of a walk. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend The Church.

Super location, Ventnor is beautiful, and all amenities were walkable nearby, shops, supermarkets, restaurants and cafes - perfect!

Also lots of things to do both on the IoW and locally, costal walks were breathtaking. Accommodation was luxurious, everything you need, couldn’t have asked for more, thank you.

Great stay and a lovely property.

Great location close to Ventnor beaches and high street. Tesco is just a 5 min walk away to grab essentials. The only challenge is parking but was aware of that before staying. Car park located just 5 mins away which was handy for us. Thank you!

Absolutely beautiful apartment.

..whoever chose the decor has amazing taste and style. It was everything in the description and more...felt really spacious. I felt like I was in an episode of 'Escape to the Country' where they have the mystery house! We were lucky enough to get a parking space across the road a few times, but if not there is a little car park literally two minutes walk away down the hill. We bought a visitors parking permit for the week, as advised and it worked brilliantly. There is also a little Tesco and Co-op within easy walking distance and it's lovely to be so close to the town centre, but equally in a very quiet area where you don't get disturbed at night. Would highly recommend. All my friends were very impressed with the pics I showed them. Thanks so much for an amazing holiday!

Tasteful decor and very comfortable, spoilt only by some minor issues ie.

very small towels, poor qiuality toilet tissue and inadedquate pans. There is not 1 big enough to make pasta for 2 people let alone 4 guests. Disappointinlgy, 3 of the 4 pans had been put away with visible food debris on them.

Good holiday, parking can be a problem, but was expected.

An excellent apartment clean and contemporary All mod cons that are needed could of done with a shower unit in 2nd bathroom also the supply of more than one towel would of been a bonus and a shower mat for safety One thing that was lacking was a proper view as windows are high up or overlooking other properties Parking could be an issue albeit free parking opposite you need to have some luck

Nicely converted old church with straightforward access up to the flat.

Decorated to a high standard, so found the lounge comfortable and kitchen well equipped. We found the beautiful bath impractical and slippy with taps a hazard. Lovely big bathroom so why not install a shower? The shower in the en-suite was bizarrely small in the big space. Nowhere to put shower soap or shampoo. Such a shame because everything else was spot on.

It was a wonderful place to stay.

The only tiny quibble is to be a little more honest about parking on the listing, it was hard to park every day and particularly hard to unpack and pack the car on arrival and departure.

It was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The flat was lovely and beautifully decorated with lots of character. The host was really helpful and easily available to answer any questions we had (even with where to get the best fish and chips in town!) The location was perfect for what we needed - a short walk to the beach which the children enjoyed. Ventnor is lovely with great places to eat, but was also easy to access other parts of the Isle of Wight. Thank you having us - we would love to come back and hopefully will book again year!
