First class cottage with great location beside the river.

This cottage has everything you need and more this is one of the best cottages we have stay in.They have though of everything there is blackets for the dog and treats Jinky loved them both.Listening to the river at night was so peaceful and calm and put you to sleep.We will be back again 5 stars all the way.Cockermouth is a beautiful place and lots to see in surrounding areas.We were so sorry to leave Neil,Jeannie and Jinky. the garden is a sun trap when the sun out great holiday thanks again

Riverside Cottage went beyond our expectations, the cottage was clean and well presented, literally 5 minutes from the town centre and 5 minutes from the park.

Our two fur babies loved the location and the cottage, we will definetly book again and can thoroughly recommend

Riverside Cottage had all the equipment needed for a self catering holiday. Nice walks in Cockermouth and easy to get into town. Visited some lovely eateries in the area.

Riverside is a beautiful property.

It was more spacious than we expected and the kitchen is very well equipped with plenty of cutlery, pans etc. and it also has a slow cooker and small air fryer. The car space at the front was good enough for our Zafirra but we didn’t try to get round to the back. It is in an excellent spot by the river with easy access to dining, pubs and shops. There is a Sainsbury’s and Lidl walking distance as well. Definitely a house we would go back to.

We had a wonderful week staying in this lovely modern cottage.

It had everything we could have wanted and the beds were super comfortable! Great base for our adventures in the lakes.We will definitely be booking again!

We were pleasantly surprised at the size of the rooms and the amount of crockery and cutlery.

Other places we have stayed at had the bare minimum. Thought the pictures online didn't do the place justice. A good town centre location with plenty of things to do.

The cottage was beautifully appointed, very clean, everything we needed, Super parking.

Great place to explore Cockermouth, walking distance to so many places, lots of local pubs, and shops close to hand, the town looked beautiful, daffodils galore, we walked miles and left the car in the parking space. We sat in the garden, and enjoyed the soothing river sounds. The bus journey to Keswick was so easy. we were blessed with lovely weather. Loved the Georgian houses and the pastel painted buildings - and learning the history of the area. What a joy to have a high street full of varied individual business. Local cafes excellent, and we had a really great time. Hopefully we will be able to return.

What a fabulous cottage!

So warm and welcoming - we were very cosy. The cottage was beautifully decorated for Christmas which added to the atmosphere. We found everything we needed as it was so well equipped (one of the best we have stayed in!) The access is via a narrow road - if you have a larger vehicle it would be tight. The garden is fully enclosed with gated access at the back. There are some fabulous walks from the door by the river, and it is lovely to be able to walk into Cockermouth town which looked so charming with the Christmas lights. We very much enjoyed our stay here. Thank you

Riverside Cottage is a wonderful place to stay!

So near all amenities yet in a quiet and pretty street overlooking the River Cocker. It is spacious and well equipped with all you need. The beds are super comfortable and the welcome pack was much appreciated. You need to be good at manoeuvring to get the car into the allocated space but it’s right at the door so very convenient.

A lovely property.

A second visit there as it was so pleasant the first time too. So well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay . The location is perfect for walking into Cockermouth in a matter of minutes and a supermarket is a few hundred yards away. Sleeps 5 but would accommodate 6, if 2 young children shared the vey small double bed. Parking is ok at the front of the property but a large car would struggle to get around the back.

This was the best home we've stayed in on our annual trip to Cockermouth.

Fully equipped, cosy, comfortable would definitely like to stay again.

Riverside Cottage is an absolute gem.

Very spacious and with every amenity you could need. Very clean and tidy and well looked after. Great location overlooking the river. The fact it has its own parking space/s is a bonus in Cockermouth (top tip), approach the front parking from down the side of Lidl and you will be facing the right way. Garden is a real asset as it is a sun trap and very relaxing. We would definitely recommend staying here

The house was very clean and well-maintained and had everything we needed for a family stay .

It was lovely to hear the river at the front when drifting of to sleep at night.

The garden could do with being cut back.

Amazing cottage in the ideal location.

Great little back garden that gets plenty of sun. Walking distance to two supermarkets. Loved going to sleep and waking up listening to the river. Brilliant stay.

Second time we have been to riverside cottage and have booked again for next year.

The view from the bedroom window is amazing looking across to the river. Very clean, comfortable and everything you need for your stay. Walking distance to local shops, Pubs and takeaway’s and a lovely walk to the river which our dogs loves. One of the best cottages we have stayed in, would definitely recommend to people.

The best equipped cottage we have ever stayed in - kudos to the owners for thinking of everything that could be needed for a very comfortable and enjoyable break.

The town itself is lovely with lots of small independent shops/cafes/pubs together with very close proximity to major supermarkets. The parking spaces were very welcome although the lane is narrow and initially you do wonder if it is an actual road and the back space can be awkward to navigate. There is EV charging available 4 min drive away.

Enjoyed a lovely break at Riverside cottage for my birthday.

The cottage is very clean and has everything you need, the little garden is perfect for sitting out with the dog especially as it was very mild for November. We did a few riverside walks from the cottage and the shops and pubs are so close you don’t have to use your car. Would love to return sometime. Deborah and Peter,Bolton

Such a lovely home.

The attention to detail is so good and has everything you would want while away from home. Definitely coming back as one of the nicest places and areas we have stayed in. Excellent value for the price. Parking a little tricky but once we know how to get into the road the back way it was ok.

A little disappointed to find on arrival at 4 pm the cleaner was there.

She was there till about 4 45. As you have to be out by 10 on day of departure surely the property should be ready for us on arrival.

This property is the best I have stayed in.

Lovely hearing the river flowing right next to us. It’s like home from home, everything you need. Very clean, comfortable and beautiful scenery. Lots to do in the surrounding area.

A really lovely property.

We had a wonderful Christmas here. The cottage was a real home from home; everything we needed was there to cook the Christmas dinner. It was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The beds were super comfortable. wish we had booked a week instead of the 4 days. We are looking to return in the summer.

Absolutely love Riverside Cottage.

It’s our 3rd stay and it feels like home. It has everything you need, the downstairs shower is fab. A very comfortable nights sleep, It’s in a beautiful spot opposite the river which you can hear while lying in your bed..perfect. Everything is in walking distance; supermarkets, pubs and eateries. It’s a great base for exploring the Lakes. Cockermouth looks gorgeous with all the Xmas decorations up. With 2 parking spaces one on the front & the other round the back. A very secure garden is perfect for our dog. Will definitely be booking again.

Could not fault the property had a nice relaxing week at riverside cottage great base for touring about the western lakes handy for the supermarkets and dog walks hopefully will be back in the future.

Oh I could talk for hours about the comfort of the mattresses but suffice to say no bad backs in sight! The weather was kind to us which makes a holiday. We will be booking this cottage again.

Lovely cottage in a great position for the town.

Very well equipped. Getting to the parking at the back was tight but with practice became easier. Would certainly recommend it . The town is less touristy than others, so was quieter but had plenty of good shops and places to eat and drink

A wonderful property.

Excellent for families. Great location and very well provisioned with everything you could need. It’s clear the owner cares about your stay and it’s one of the few cottages I’d return to just because of the cottage facilities making life so easy & a much needed holiday as relaxing as it could be.

The accommodation is set in the perfect location River view , town centre only 5 minutes away, 2 excellent grocery supermarkets within a few minutes walk away,great food pubs and restaurants on the doorstep.

What more would you want. Excellent , have already made a booking for next year !

A beautiful well equipped, clean and comfortable cottage.

Perfectly sized to take our teenage son, my parents and our dog away for a well earned break. A lovely little welcome pack of tea, coffee, biscuits, handful of chocolates and a bottle of wine (very minor point, but some milk would have been a good addition) - much appreciated, thankyou. A very short walk to pubs, cafes and supermarkets. There is so much to do and see in the surrounding area - we would love to visit again in the future.

Its a beautiful home in a beautiful town. The cottage has everything you could possibly need and it suited the whole family, including very small children. We'll definitely be recommending Cockermouth and Riverside Cottage to our friends and family.

A lovely cottage.

We would like to return next year. Unfortunately the gas fire in the lounge was not working when we arrived and it was not repaired by the time we left. This was disappointing. Apart from that the cottage was super and had everything we needed.

A very comfortable, clean, well equipped cottage in a very scenic location by the river which was near the centre of Cockermouth.

Only tiny flaw was that we were not able to get gas in sitting room to stay on. Weather good for time of year and we sat out in beautiful back yard a few times. We did lots and would return to this cottage and Cockermouth.

Nice property in a good location but let down by the following:- 1a)Bottle and cardboard bins in shed were overflowing with no info on how they are emptied.

1b) Overgrown shrubs obstruct access to all the outside bins, particularly unpleasant experience when shrubs are wet from rain. 1c) Impractical tiny kitchen bin inside cupboard. There is plenty of room to put a full size kitchen bin next to the fridge. 2) All routes to the parking spaces are extremely narrow and challenging for larger cars. The property details should include a fuller description of the parking access.

The riverside cottage was every thing we wanted with such lovely setting and still close to the town and country side, there was just the two of us plus the dog, but would have been plenty of room for any family.

Lovely convenient location and nice sized furnished property for 5 persons.

All hard floors definitely in need of a proper clean, not just a vacuum. Need bins in bathrooms/toilet as most of the bins in the house hold the cleaner's products/materials so are unusable and a medium/large free-standing bin in the kitchen would be more convenient and efficient. Generally really pleased with the house and would stay again if in the area. Towels, linen and beds really clean and comfortable. Access to the property/parking via the VERY narrow roads is very nervy, not leaving much room for manoeuvre - but these small access roads weren't built for the amount of cars now driving or parking on them.

Great little cottage , excellent location for touring the Northern Lake District and close , but not too close, to shops , pubs and restaurants .

We’ll certainly book it again and have recommended it to friends and family All in all an excellent property

An excellent, fully equipped and superbly clean cottage in an ideal position for exploring not only Cockermouth but the Lake District as a whole.

Our two dogs were also spoilt with a variety of treats left for them. Extremely soothing to hear the River Cocker flowing past your bedroom window.

Fantastic cottage, fully fitted with a loaded kitchen, very comfortable lounge.

Cottage was fully decorated for Christmas which we never expected - lovely touch. Very quiet area but only a couple of minutes to the town centre. For dog walkers a nice walk up the river path into a wooded park area - take a good torch for a late walk with your dog! Will definitely look to book there again

A fabulously well equipped, very comfortable holiday home that really does offer pretty much everything you need with so many thoughtful touches by the owners.

Very well situated, provides easy access to Cockermouth whilst being away from the hustle and bustle of town. The only negative we found - if you drive a larger vehicle it can be awkward managing access to and from the rather narrow street depending on how other residents on the street have parked ( I hasten to add that this is not a criticism, just an observation). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

Fantastic location and so easy to travel anywhere in the Lake District either by car or public transport.

The cottage was so comfortable and garden was a bonus . There was even a nice shed where you could store bicycles etc. Highly recommended for a relaxed stay in the Northern Lakes.

We have an old dog and we weren’t aware of the steps at the back door and more to get to the gravelled area, we managed but it would’ve been good to be aware before we arrived, maybe just put on website as an addition.

Home from Home, great cottage with all facilities.

Well thought out, plenty of room, light & bright. Beds were amazing, had great nights sleep! Ideal location, parking is tight on front, but there is another parking space at rear, again can be tight. Loverly little patio, Plenty of room for Dog baskets and nice touch leaving bowls, towel etc for them. Bottle of wine nice touch. Loved standing at the bedroom window watching the river, very peaceful. People in area very friendly, 5mins walk to town with pubs, shops, bars etc, plus Lidl, Sainsbury's & Aldi local. Would Defiantly recommend :)

Beautiful cottage, has everything and more. Surroundings are peaceful and its lovely hearing the river bubbling along. Good attention to detail. The town is friendly, plenty to do and very clean.

Freeview is hopeless, you do not get hardly any of the channels.

Lovely cottage in a great location only a couple of minutes walk from the interesting town centre of Cockermouth, supermarkets etc.

and lovely river walks begin right outside the front door. Parking is 'snug' but there are three available spaces just for this cottage. Fully equipped with lots of modern touches including easy to control heating. Thoughtful touches especially the beautiful Christmas decorations. Had a lovely time.

What an amazing find!

! Sykes never fails to find beautiful cottages but this cottage is outstanding! The location is perfect with the river at the side of the property. You can hear the soothing and relaxing sound of the river and the wildlife chatting throughout the day. The walks around the cottage are stunning, the centre of the town is two minutes away, everything is within walking distance. The cottage is of a very high standard with your every need catered for. The beds are very comfortable, sofas comfy, tv has all that you need for a movie day, kitchen facilities are amazing, showers of a high standard and it is immaculately clean. I would highly recommend this cottage. We booked again on the way home for next year. Don’t miss out on this little gem!!

Very comfortable clean and well equipped cottage - beds were extremely comfortable.

Cockermouth is a lovely small town with a quiet walk for the dog along the river to a riverside park. Plenty of places to eat within walking distance and a good base for exploring the Northern Lakes. The only issue was the narrow access to the rear parking space which was tricky for an estate car but manageable with care. The parking space at the front of the property was fine.

Riverside is a lovely cottage in a convenient location, close to the restaurants, shops and bars in Cockermouth town centre.

It is clean, comfortable and has everything necessary for an enjoyable holiday in North West Lakeland. One thing which should be pointed out to guests is that the parking space at the rear of the property is only realistically accessible by small cars.

The cottage was very clean and comfortable.

A real home from home. Everything we needed was there, the beds were comfortable and a bottle of wine to welcome us was a lovely touch. Would definitely stay here again. The location is within easy reach of the town, lakes and fells. Information about the parking space seemed conflicting but there is in fact a parking space in front of the cottage. Perfect location for seeing visiting different lakes and the cost.

Cottage was lovely with everything we could have needed, close to shops and pubs but perfectly quiet.

The cottage was ideally placed for visiting the lakes and the the Cumbrian coast, peacefully set alongside a bubbling river, the wine, chocolates and biscuits was very much appreciated and unexpected, parking needs to be at front of cottage the back is difficult to get down to, a house number as well as name would be good because it’s a long road.

We had a lovely stay in Riverside Cottage , the location is perfect, close to the town but down a quiet road close to the river .

The cottage is extremely well equipped, nicely decorated and like home from home . Cockermouth is lovely town with plenty to do, interesting shops and good places to eat we had a lovely meal in Blocks Steak house to celebrate a birthday and would definitely recommend it ! Cockermouth is an excellent location to explore the Lakes , less busy than other towns . Wordsworth house is worth a visit and there are lovely walks by the river .

The cottage was well equipped clean and tidy, probably the best that we have stayed at.

The only issue we had was the parking, narrow street not much room to maneuver and not knowing the street layout coupled with one road was close for building work. After saying this I would stay again and Cockermouth is a good place and met all our needs all within walking distance.

The cottage was very comfortable and immaculate and convenient to all local services and facilities.

We wanted to start the Coast to Coast path (in stages, not all in one go!

) and Cockermouth was a good base for this as it had good bus routes (and taxis) to enable us to do the first 40 miles of the route.

Riverside Cottage has been refurbished and furnished to a very high standard and is situated within minutes of shops bars and cafes/coffee shops.

Resident parking guarantees parking spaces to the front and rear of the property. I would highly recommend this property as well as a visit to Cockermouth. 5 stars from us!

This cottage was not the original one I had booked, as it was cancelled at the last minute.

Sykes went above and beyond to find alternative arrangements, and I so glad they did. The cottage was exquisite. I felt at home straight away. It has a lovely atmosphere, clean and very comfy beds. The town was friendly and lots to look at. Altogether it made our holiday and I will certainly go again.
