This was our second time staying at Limhus House having previously enjoyed a great stay in Summer 2025.

The property is clean and well maintained on the surface (e.g. bathrooms, worktops, tables) but as the week progressed it became apparent that it had only undergone a 'quick clean' and a much deeper clean and a proper maintenance walkaround are long overdue. While the odd dog hair is to be expected, there was an accumulation of dog hair and dust everywhere. It was under all furniture and in corners/edges of rooms and stairs. This was throughout the house, including the bedrooms. Given we had a toddling one year old, we felt the need to vacuum all downstairs on the first day. I note previous guests have commented on this being noticeable during their stay, but has not been resolved. Other cleaning points: oven, fridge and cutlery drawers were grubby, 'hard to reach' areas such as behind the internet router, down side of toilet etc had a layer of dust. It would be helpful to have cleaning products on hand. Vacuum very old and not pleasant to use due to smell it produces. Kettle in need of descale. Other maintenance points: not all extractor fans work, smallest bedroom light switch faulty/broken, family upstairs bathroom door handle faulty (locked us out on one occasion), kitchen bin lid broken (was also broken during our first stay). It is a shame to only give this property 3 stars as we had a really great experience previously (5 stars). The above points did impact on our stay at Limhus House and has put us off visiting a third time.

Fantastic property in a great location - easy walk into Keswick.

Well equipped & comfortable. Some minor points- there was not enough hot water for 7 adults to shower in the morning & the pressure in the upstairs showers was not great, so we tended to queue for the downstairs shower which was much better. The property would benefit from having a washing line in the garden, as towels & clothes took 3 days to dry on the airer. The master bedroom needs properly fitting sheets as they ping off when too small for the size of the bed. We took our own throws to cushion the kitchen benches having read previous reviews. Despite these minor issues 7 family members had a great few days together & we would definitely recommend this property & return for a future visit. Thank you to the owner for allowing us to stay.
