Great location and lovely cottage but needs a little TLC in places.
Once again loved the cottage the only thing that lets it down are the 2 settees we were all slipping off them constantly as the cushions were worn and out of shape.
Also the door on the landing to the outside could it not have a key so that when bringing in suitcases you don’t have to navigate the steep steps and also fire door as only escape out on the upper floor … just a thought but loved it as always… the garden is fantastic and beautiful… xxx
We have had a lovely stay at Cross Brow despite flooding in and around Ambleside which cleared as quickly as it came.
Gorgeous rooms upstairs, lovely kitchen, loads of space. We would definately come back.. There are just a few small things I would mention - as others did the chairs and sofa downstair are not esp comfortable - you slide off them! I think undersheets are needed on the beds, the sheet constantly comes off the mattress, instructions on the light switches! And the heating set to come on and off am and pm it was very random! Also the bath taps and shelf in upstairs bathroom need tightening. However great comfortable house happy to stay again, well equipped kitchen, clean, spacious.
