What guests are saying
We had a delightful stay at this lovely property.
It’s very well located near the town centre and a bonus having two parking spaces. The outlook is beautiful and it’s very comfortable and spacious. Our only minor quibbles -and these are very small things that make the difference to one’s overall impression of a property - would be the same as a previous reviewer. If I’m paying £450 per night, I would expect soap and more than one loo roll in each bathroom. The welcome pack is basically nothing. Again we’ve had lovely welcome packs at previous stays. Also the fire pit on the patio was full of water so unusable. Lastly a few instructions would be great. We didn’t know where the bins were or recycling arrangements. As I say, these are small things. We were very happy with every other aspect, the property is very well equipped and it was quiet and well kept.
Take Five is a beautiful property and perfectly located for those wanting a break in The Lakes.
Good public transport just down the road and Ambleside is a short walk with a great selection of places to eat. Our only criticism and yes I am being picky, is the attention to detail, dusty mirrors, dirty windows, stained cups, freezer so iced up we could only open one drawer. Black mould of bathmat and shower head in main bedroom. Feather lampshade needs taking down as a haven for cobwebs and spiders! Attachment for hair dryer is for a different one! Shame the vehicle charging point is not available to guests yet as that would have been a huge plus for us. We did have a lovely week there and the wildlife in the garden was an unexpected bonus.
Take Five is a beautiful cottage, great views, great terrace and lovely living area and master bedroom.
Good location too. Beautifully kitted out. Our only issue was the lack of condiments, soap, toilet roll etc. 5 dishwashing tablets for a 7 night stay! No salt and pepper, no spare toilet rolls. For GBP 1,800 for the week I would have expected a few more basics but other than that it was great.
