The oven and microwave were dirty.

We have stayed in a few local villages in Yorkshire, all of which are lovely but this was our favourite location and the apartment was perfect.

Very well equipped and in great condition. Many thanks Andrew we will be back.

Second time staying at Orchard Leigh and it won’t be our last.

The property has everything you need and is perfect in every way. Austwick is a beautiful village and I never tire of visiting. Already can’t wait to return.

Weve had a great stay in Austwick.

The property is in a perfect location in the quiet, picturesesque village, which is bypassed by the A65 and gets little traffic and then mostly cyclists, walkers and sheep! Small property, 2nd bedroom quite small but has all you need. Things we really liked: Location in the dales and view from the property The local pub/ pattiserie , (food is amazing) and also a local shop (both 2 mins walk) Friendly locals and neighbours of the property The property is back from the pulbic road, so although the front garden is not fully enclosed its safe for dogs/ kids Lovely walks straight from the door Outdoor seating area and sliding doors to lounge. Close to Settle which will have anything you need The price...whats not to like?

We had a lovely week here.

The flat is very well equipped and in a lovely location. We had brilliant weather so lovely to be able to sit outside. Plenty of room and a really good, spacious bathroom. Didn’t do much cooking but what I did do was easy. The dishwasher was a bonus. The only (very slight) downside would be the lack of a central coffee table to put a cup of tea/glass of wine on. All in all a brilliant stay.

This is a lovely, simple and comfortable flat in the centre of the village.

There are two double beds but one bedroom is smaller so the bed has to be against the wall. Great shower. The terrace is very pretty, though smaller than it looks in the photos and the view is towards stone houses with a hill behind. The next door flat has a neighbouring front terrace. The terraces and other gardens are all beautifully kept and there were flowers everywhere when we stayed (in May). Most of the time the only sound was birdsong and the walks from the door were beautiful and varied. We managed well without a car as the bus service was reliable and the village shop had basics. The kitchen was good and we cooked for ourselves. Very pleasant owners and neighbours. We were sad to leave and hope to return.

In a lovely quiet location close to amenities pub which had excellent meals and local shop accommodation was comfortable clean well maintained and dog friendly in an area that as some excellent walking on the doorstep would recommend as this was are second time of visiting a very enjoyable place for a break.

Very smart apartment and extremely comfortable bed.

Well situated for days out in the Dales and Forest of Bowland. Our first visit to the Dales for 30 years and we had forgotten how beautiful they are. Can recommend the Talbot Arms in Settle for real ales and good food plus a large beer garden.

The fresh milk and biscuits were a nice surprise but the old stale coffee was disappointing.

Never managed to work the floor heating in bathroom. Pub 3 doors down was excellent for food and drink. Made very welcome by nearly ever local we met in and around the village.

A lovely apartment.

well fitted kitchen and dining room although a little small for two people. Good sized lounge with a large tv. Beds were comfortable and the under floor heating in the bath room was a great bonus. There was some difficulty with regard to parking since I am disabled. I did not find the steps from the carpark easy and we could not park outside since other people needed to get to their apartment

A lovely place to stay.

Well kept, clean and comfortable. Everything we needed to make our stay a good one. Beautiful views and a friendly village. The pub has excellent food and Sunday lunch is a must.

Lovely apartment was very comfortable and quiet with a nice front garden to sit out in a beautiful area.

Everything we needed was provided, very well equipped and maintained. Had 2 beautiful meals in the gamecock. Visited Ingleborough caves, Settle, Bentham and Ingleton. All very pretty. The local area of Austwick is very picturesque and great for dog walks. I liked this place so much I’ve booked it again for half term at the end of October.

Couldn’t have asked for better accommodation, everything you needed was there. Meet the owner’s and they were really lovely and friendly. We highly recommend.

Comfortable apartment with wonderful views.

Very clean and well equipped. Bedrooms had plenty of storage and super comfortable beds. The welcome biscuits and milk were a nice touch. The lounge needs a nest of tables or coffee table, I note this has been mentioned on reviews before. The inclusion of a bread knife is needed as I bought a fresh loaf but was unable to slice it. We also had difficulty getting the tumble dryer to just dry. Poured over the booklet with no insight so gave up. There was a clothes horse which was helpful. All in all we had a relaxing week and would book again

This is a really lovely holiday flat.

Clean, comfortable, everything you need, and views right across the valley. Perfect location for walks, and plenty of places to visit. Brilliant village pub serving excellent food, and also sells pattisery. Really couldn't fault it. We have been before, and I am sure we will be back

Great quiet spacious ground floor flat in a lovely village with scenic views from the lounge.

Bed was comfy. Well equipped & nicely furnished although another side/coffee table is needed in the lounge. Super shower! No issues with parking. The pub & its bakery within 2 minutes walk is a great bonus though best to book. We really enjoyed our stay!

We very much enjoyed our week at 2 Orchard Leigh.

The apartment was ideal for the two of us. Nice and clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the garden on an evening with a glass of wine, admiring the lovely view. There was plenty of good walking from the doorstep, we even caught the bus to Clapham one day and walked back on the Pennine Bridal Way, very nice. Our cycling days are gone now, but it would be a good base for cycling around the area. We hope to return before too long.

Overall the property was fabulous and garden front which is much smaller than appears to look on photo but benefits from sun all day, the gate needs some attention as kept coming open.

The one think that I would add is a coffee table in the lounge. The kitchen was well equipped but the dishwasher was hit/miss as the detergent capsule did not always release and often was just left in the door.

Really enjoyed are stay Austwick is a lovely quite village flat was clean cosy and ideally situated for walking and conveniently located for travel around the local area with only one slight drawback being the local pub being shut for the week so will have to go again when pub is open would fully recommend 2 orchard leigh for a quite peaceful stay.

Lovely property, peaceful location, easy off street parking.

Well equipped and very clean with a lovely walk in shower and two sofas in the lounge. Excellent pub within 100yards, super beer and food served, complete with an integral bakery, fresh croissants, bread, cakes and pastries. Old fashioned corner shop/ post office opposite the pub selling all essentials. Overall, simply wonderful, will definitely return.

It was very comfortable and had everything we needed to make a great holiday. We slept very well in the comfy bed with dark curtains in the bedroom. The shower was large in the modern bathroom. Comfy sofas, big TV, good wifi and the parking was convenient. But wait, the best bit was the wonderful neighbours that you have there, friendly and helpful.

The property was clean and had everything you would need in the kitchen for a stay.

The only thing we missed was a coffee table in the centre of the room as there was nowhere to place cups unless you were near the patio doors

We had a lovely time staying here.

It has everything you need to cook a Christmas day dinner. Very comfortable and a brilliant log burner. Will differently be staying again.

Delightful apartment right in the heart of the village, with benefit of private parking .

Lovely views from lounge and kitchen . Lounge very comfortable with log burner stove and good finishing and equipment throughout. Everything you could want from holiday sccommodation.

Immaculate and comfortable.

Everything you need in the kitchen, (but would recommend extra cutlery). Nice to have a parking spot. Garden receives the sun all day. Highly recommended. Very good location for walks and trips to Ingleton, Settle, forest of Bowland and the coast. The Game cock inn is excellent as is the Naked man cafe in Settle.

The apartment was clean and in a lovely position near a great pub.

Under floor heating in the bathroom was brilliant. A few annoying things though. Water didn't stay warm all day and had to keep putting on a couple of switches at least twice a day. Radiators not very warm. Cutlery and mugs just 4 of each so had to keep washing up or putting dishwasher on. Only one toilet roll! Lounge door very draughty.

Comfortable accomodation.

Everything was in good working order. The location is great for exploring the surrounding area, and the nearby pub served excellent food. We are very likely to book the same property again.

On the whole it was a poor holiday.

.the property stated that a DVD player was available which was important for our visit however no player was there and the owners did not provide one during our stay..very disappointing.. Also although a log burner was there no initial supplies were provided so not possible to have a lit fire..poor organisation by the owner..

All in all a really lovely restful week but awful weather!

Austwick is a lovely village with very friendly people and the Gamecock pub is a must it is wonderful.The flat is just as described with walks from the door and beautiful countryside everywhere and the Courtyard Dairy towards Settle is not to be missed.

The flat was clean every thing was as described and in perfect working order.

Plenty of room and storage. It's a lovely base to explore north yorkshire and the lakes. The only thing I felt was missing was a coffee table or small side tables. There was nowhere to put snacks or a glass of wine while chilling in front of the TV in the evening. I used a chair from the dining area

Great location and the flat is very clean and well equipped.

Would highly recommended as a good base for visiting the Dales. Only suggestion would be to provide a decent bread knife for cutting the fab bread from the Game Cock's bakery.

Really enjoyed sitting on the patio enjoying wonderful views of the countryside. Even when weather not so good you can still enjoy views from sofa through patio doors. Great location.

This is a lovely ground floor flat, very clean and comfortable with everything you nee for your holiday.

I love the fact that the lounge has patio doors with views right across the valley. Austwick is a very pretty village with loads of walks from the doorstep, and easy access to the Dales, Lakes, and forest of Bowland. Very friendly pub serving excellent food and a well stocked village shop. Highly recommended.

Fantastic location and very comfortable apartment.

We had a lovely holiday at Orchard Leigh. It was very cold when we arrived as the heating had been turned off, but by next day it heated up and was fine. Lovely modern apartment in a very pretty village, clean, bright, airy and comfortable. Log burner a real treat. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

Holiday was lovely.

Had everything it needed. The Owner Andrew was extremely helpful and respectful. Definitely enjoyed my stay. Good bed too.

Fantastic location and very comfortable apartment.

Rather cold, only 12 degrees on arrival, and took 3 days to fully warm up. We should have lit the stove earlier! But it was winter... Great walking nearby and lovely pub.

Everything was fantastic from start to finish. A credit to the owner indeed. We would stay there again in the future as there was so much more we could have done in the area. Thanks for the opportunity to stay there.

We were unable to get any power to the washing machine.

As we were staying for a fortnight it would have been very useful to be able to use it. Nevertheless we felt that it was a lovely apartment in a lovely area and would like to go back again next year.

Lovely place to stay.

Very good communication from the owners. Easy access to Ingleton and Settle and the surrounding areas. We would definitely stay again.

The house was perfect in every respect.

Clean, comfortable and cosy and only 2 minutes from the welcoming Gamecock Hotel and village shop. Lots of good walks from the door especially the walk to the lovely village of Clapham for lunch in the New Inn.

A lovely little apartment with a big main bedroom but tiny kitchen (one at a time in there!

) in an absolutely perfect spot for exploring the Dales. 5 miles from Settle, less than 2 miles from Clapham, amazing views and some lovely little local walks. Great pub just 1 minute walk away. Attentive owner who left us some milk in the fridge and a pack of lovely biscuits. Lovely shower with warm underfloor heating. Recommend for couples or, like us, a couple with one teenager. Good value for money.

The property was extremely clean and facilities were well provided for.

The property was easy to use and flowed well. I wish all of rented cottages were as good.

Handy for Lakes and Dales with a pub on the doorstep!

I don't agree that I, having paid for the holiday and all services and cleaning, should have to strip the bed, empty the bin and put on then empty.

I would rather pay more for the holiday and have these things done as part of the service.

This is a really lovely holiday apartment.

Beautifully clean and comfortable, it has everything you could need. The kitchen is well equipped, the beds comfortable, spacious shower room and a generous sized shower. The lounge has patio doors giving a lovely view across the valley, and access to the paved patio. The village pub is a 2 minute walk, serving good food and selling their own patisserie and bread. A well stocked friendly village shop means you don't need to travel far for your shopping. Dozens of walks on the doorstep and plenty of places to visit. Would not hesitate in recommending.

Very close to pub, patisserie, bakery n shop. Great off road parking in a popular village. Lovely walks from the flat and close to other places of interest. We had a great time.

The outdoor hose was broken so couldn’t water their garden for them and we weren’t sure if we could use the washing line or space at the back of the property.

The apartment was very comfortable, especially the bed, best nights sleep I've had in a long time.

The kitchen contained everything you would ever need, and the views are stunning. Lots of walks from the village, the one to Feizor is a must if you like to stop for coffee and cake!

We did feel that the accommodation was more suitable for two only ,the kitchen/ dining area would be very cramped for 4 adults.The decoration is very tasteful.The owners were very helpful.

My wife & I visited in October 2020 with our 8 month cockapoo.

A very clean & well appointed apartment, really cozy for the autumn. No wood supplied for fire but village shop sells bags of logs. The courtyard area has a low wall & if you have a dog you’d need to keep it on a lead, could be hard work if you want to use this area in good weather. The area; I’m a keen walker, I have a copy of Wainwright’s ‘walks in limestone country’, a great guide for the local area & fells. Ingleborough is a good walk from the apartment via Clapham, Ingleborough Cave, Trow Gill & the opening of Gaping Gill, a great day. Many local walks, especially Elaine’s tea rooms in Feizor, easy 45 mins & dog friendly, superb cakes. Austwick beck is down a footpath just past playing fields, 10 min walk & a beautiful spot. Locally the village shop is well stocked, friendly local advice from a very helpful couple. We only went to the Gamecock pub twice, but felt with Covid restrictions they were a bit stressed, why leave the apartment with everything on hand for a comfortable evening.? Definitely would return.

Disappointed with the accommodation.

There wasn’t anywhere to hang up coats except in the wardrobe. A real issue due to the rain, coats couldn’t be dried. It said it was dog friendly but there was nowhere to put a basket and the dog wasn’t allowed in the bedroom where there was space. Beds and sofas were uncomfortable. Upstairs neighbours were very noisy and kept us awake past midnight

The apartment was clean and bright, hand sanitizer by the front door and hand wash available in both the kitchen and bathroom.

Rooms comfortable and kitchen well equipped. Amazing views from the patio and glorious weather to enjoy them too. Neighbours friendly and welcoming. The Gamecock pub is on the doorstep and has very good food, booking recommended. Village shop well stocked and safety aware. Some nice walks locally. Local jams and preserves for sale right by the apartment - Hearth to Toast -definitely recommend as very moreish!

Lovely modern flat in small village.

Lots of walks nearby and places to visit. Enjoyed fish and chips from Fisherman in Settle - Local pub got booked up early, think maybe busier than normal with Eat out to Help scheme.

Everything about the appartment was excellent, we were disappointed as to how it was located, it is within a busy little area , doubtless genteel but not quite as secluded as we would have liked, it was difficult to manage our dog's bathroom habits in this location, also you cannot keep the car near your appartment, which is no problem but with us it is where the dog rests when not walking.

That out of the way it is a lovely position, near an excellent pub, near an also excellent shop and easy access to walks. The food shopping in the area was of the highest standard , in 9 days we only had two meals out as the kitched facilities were truly excellent. and we like to cook. We want to go back to this part of the world, very much, if we couild find a position with more seclusion.

NB: The lock of the door to the flat was at times difficult to operate.

Beautiful countryside Dales are Stunning, Cottage close to all amenities and Restaurants Overall perfect!

The apartment has pleasant views over rooftops to distant hills. The apartment is recently renovated and therefore everything is new. It was tastefully decorated for Christmas and the lights gave a cosy glow. There was a basket of wood for the wood burner in the living room but the place was toasty warm without.
