  • "A lovely little apartment right in the heart of Bowness!"

The location is perfect, a few steps down and you are opposite the John Peel Inn and next to Beatrix Potter, and a parking space is great to have! We stayed a week and as the weather was dreadful for 3 days we spent a little more time in the apartment than we had hoped! Considering that, if we stayed again it would be for a shorter time or we would book larger accommodation. It’s a great apartment, nicely decorated and good use of space

  • "Me & my boyfriend absolutely loved our stay here for our 1 year anniversary getaway."

The place was absolutely spotless when we arrived & we had everything we needed already on the apartment for us. The location of the apartment was perfect & exactly the kind of place we wanted to be. Only downsides were parking in the car park at the top of a very steep hill & having to then walk up / down it, to & from the apartment & my car. I have a physical disability & was struggling with this so ended up parking at the bottom of the hill outside our apartment with my blue badge up, hoping not to be in anyone’s spot. All seemed fine & no one mentioned anything about me being there. The shower head pressure was also very soft & it was a bit more difficult washing shampoo out of my hair etc compared to being anywhere else, but I adapted to it & got used to it for the week. Everything has been amazing during our stay & we highly recommend couples staying here. The bed was also super comfy! Thank you to the host for such a pleasant stay :)

  • "A well furnished apartment in a very good location It was very clean and tidy."

No communication was given near our date of arrival so I had to search back to my original boking to find information on where to park and key codes etc - if you book do not delete that email! The apartment is nice but is smaller than it looks on photos. It was fine for us (family of 4) for a few days but think 4 adults would find it too snug possibly. We also had no hot water during our stay. I didn't have time to ring them to let them know as I wanted to enjoy my holiday and not have to spend time sorting this out. A number to text might be handy to have rather than the landline of a caretaker. The bathroom is ok but no toiletries provided. Hand soap would have been nice- it's not something I tend to take on holiday. The shower unit is also quite small and the shower is poor with not good water pressure. I would stay again but for the price could probably get somewhere a bit bigger.

  • "We had a perfect stay at Bluebell Hill."

The apartment is stylish, spotless and couldn't hardly be better located. Higher quality kitchen utensils and more crockery would be welcomed but that's nit-picking. 100% recommend.

  • "We had a great stay, the location was perfect for us with a small child, the very short walk into Bowness made it easy to see all the sights and get to cafe’s and restaurants even in the rain!"

The apartment is not the biggest and there is no view from the balcony but it is very cosy (true to photo’s), the cleanliness could not be faulted and has all the amenities you need for a weekend break, the parking space so close to Bowness is also a bonus. Overall we would highly recommend this property.

  • "The property listing states there is a fridge however this is not true, the property has a small drinks cooler tucked away in a cupboard which causes it to overheat and produce a vile smell."

On arrival I had to ask someone from maintenance to come and check the fridge as the smell was that bad, he ended up removing the cupboard door to stop the fridge from getting so hot. The fridge needs to be replaced with a proper fridge that is fit for purpose. The property could of done with a good clean which was disappointing as on a recent review the owner says the property has been deep cleaned, yet we found the work tops and floors to be dirty and also there was blood on the bed sheets. If bed sheets are blood stained BIN THEM, don't wash them and hope no one will notice. I was also a little disappointed after a 2 hour drive to arrive and there be no toilet roll supplied at all. The location is good, literally 2 minutes walk into Bowness, and the apartment itself is quite nice so if the above issues were addressed I would stay here again.

Thank you for your feedback on your stay at Bluebell Hill. We appreciate your honesty, and we are sorry to hear that you had some negative experiences. We have taken your feedback seriously and we have taken steps to address the issues you have raised. • We have replaced the drinks cooler with a proper fridge that is fit for purpose. • We have taken on a new cleaner who will be giving a higher standard of cleanliness and new linen has been purchased to replace those that were not suitable. • We will ensure that there is always toilet roll supplied in the apartment. We understand that these issues have affected your stay, and we apologise for any inconvenience they have caused. We hope that you will consider staying with us again in the future once we have addressed these issues. Thank you again for your feedback. We value your feedback, and we look forward to welcoming you back to Bluebell Hill in the future. Property Owner

  • "Fab location little balcony lovely."

Generally clean & tidy. The "fridge" isn't a fridge it is inadequate especially as the listing is for 4 people. You would really struggle. For the love of God. The actual cupboard would take a larder fridge put one in. The "fridge" stank. I did ring and tell the letting agent. Cleaned it out with bleach. Marginally better. Grease on tiles in kitchen under toaster lots of crumbs. Debris under sofa. Beds comfy linen good quality & spotless. Bathroom compact but clean and with a cracking shower. Apart from the fridge would use again. Nobody wants warm champagne do they?

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of our rental property. We appreciate your feedback, both positive and negative. We're sorry to hear that you found the fridge to be inadequate to accommodate 4 people. We will pass this comment onto the owner to review. We're also sorry to hear that you found grease on the tiles in the kitchen and debris under the sofa. We've had the property cleaned again, and we've taken steps to prevent these issues from happening again. We're glad that you found the beds to be comfortable and the linen to be good quality. We're also glad that you enjoyed the bathroom. We appreciate your feedback and we'll take your suggestions into account. We want to make sure that all of our guests have a positive experience. • "Overall a good holiday apartment, with everything we needed."

Very comfortable with easy access to restaurants and bars and a 5 minute walk to lake Windermere. Unfortunately the apartment doesn’t have a allocation parking space and the car park at the top can be very busy . The fridge in the kitchen is very small , apart from that we enjoyed our stay and would book again . The bonus is the balcony very nice .

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed your stay at Bluebell Hill. We will pass on all your comments on. We hope to welcome you again soon. The owner relations team - Lakes Cottage Holidays Property Owner

The location was perfect for myself, in walking distance so many facilities and restaurants. In Bowness On Windermere. Important for me who was travelling by myself, was feeling safe in property , and I did feel very safe and comfortable in the apartment. It’s not a major issue but would like large bath/ shower towels . Other than that excellent place and service .
