A large family size corner sofa sits in front of the TV and electric coal effect fire and the large family dining table is great for family breakfasts or celebration dinners. The large windows allow the light to flood in and the patio doors open to the garden and patio.

The fitted kitchen is well appointed and the whole open plan layout gives the living accommodation a very social feel.

The first of the four bedrooms is located on the ground floor with an ensuite shower room. The remaining three bedrooms are located on the first floor along with a family bathroom with bath with shower over.

The house benefits from a pretty garden that wraps around the property and the patio is presented with outdoor dining furniture. There is an external utility room with washing machine and tumble drier. To the side of the property is private parking for three cars.

Just a five minute walk from Fir Trees is the bustling village of Bowness on the shores of Lake Windermere with a great selection of pubs, bars and restaurants in addition to great local shops and amenities.

Lake cruises operate all year round and there is a create choice of waterborne activities from sailing, canoeing and motorboat hire. The car ferry runs across the lake just 100 yards from the cottage and offers easy access to the mountain bike trails and great walking opportunities on the west side of Lake Windermere.

Overhaul a lovely place in a great position near the lake.

But there where one or two things that could have been have been better.there was mold in downstairs shower room that could have been remanded in minutes. There was a wasps nest under one of the bedroom windows which should have been noticed by cleaning staff and delt with. Otherwise a very good house and a great stay.

On the whole, beautiful cottage at a very convenient spot with all amenities close by .

The main issues were the cleanliness and maintenance . There were cobwebs, mostly every where and the laundry room was full of junk which deterred us from using it. As we ladies were there for a week that was an issue but if you are there for 2 to 3 nights i suppose it didn’t matter. The freezer had ice stuck in all compartments and some of the utensils needed a good clean as they were just left burnt. The first night , the bedrooms smelt very musty and found the duvet cover in the main room slightly damp. That issue was solved as we aerated the rooms thoroughly the next day. We would request the property be inspected randomly or for the owner to stay there for a while and resolve the issues. We also found massive spiders in the small and 2nd main bedroom upstairs. Would we stay there again ? Definitely if the cleanliness were to improve.

We stayed at Fir Trees for 3 nights, its a lovely cottage in a quiet area.

About a 15minute walk into Bowness where there are plenty of places to eat and drink. Also the ferries are near, We woukd definately stay there again.
