Description

Robin's Retreat is a charming terraced holiday home situated in the heart of Kendal, Cumbria.

With dedicated private parking for one car, this family-friendly retreat is perfect for families or groups of friends seeking to explore the vibrant town and the stunning landscapes of the Lake District.

As you step inside, you're greeted by a traditionally decorated hallway with doors off to the front sitting room and rear dining room.

Beyond the dining room is a thoughtfully arranged kitchen, fully equipped for preparing hearty, home-style meals.

These can be enjoyed in the adjoining dining room, which comfortably seats your group and includes a television for a bit of light entertainment while you dine.

After your meal, make your way to the characterful sitting room, a welcoming space to put your feet up and unwind in front of the TV, rounding off the day in comfort.

Outdoors, the enclosed rear patio, complete with seating, offers a peaceful retreat for a morning brew or an evening tipple, an ideal spot to pause and reflect on the day’s adventures.

When it’s time to turn in, the property offers two tastefully appointed bedrooms: one with a king-size bed and the other a twin, both providing a restful haven after a day of exploring.

The first-floor family bathroom features a bath with a shower over, perfect for a refreshing soak, while an additional ground-floor cloakroom with basin and WC adds a practical touch.

Step out to embrace a host of idyllic local attractions, beginning with a visit to the beautiful National Trust - Sizergh, a medieval house with heritage gardens perfect for a ‘pleasure walk’.

After roaming the gardens, why not take a short trip to the unmissable Low Sizergh Barn Farm Shop & Café, where you can indulge in a range of locally produced goods and enjoy a beautifully prepared lunch.

Take a scenic drive to the outstanding Levens Hall, marvel at the world’s oldest topiary garden and hold onto your sense of wonder as you explore the interiors of this stunning Elizabethan home.

The celebrated Lake District spot, Holehird Gardens, is just a stone's throw away, home to the Lakeland Horticultural Society, explore the extravagant collection of beautiful plants and shrubs and find yourself lost in a horticultural paradise.

Venture a little further to discover, Blackwell, the Arts and Crafts house, a treasure trove of artistic creativity that will perfectly complement your culturally enriched visit.

For a day bursting with Cumbrian charm, be sure to time your visit to coincide with an event at the Westmorland County Showground; from agricultural shows to food festivals, you'll find something for everyone.

Journey through Kendal and beyond, tasting, seeing and absorbing each unique element that makes this part of the world something quite special, all whilst making Robin's Retreat your home away from home.

We had a really good holiday at Robin’s Retreat.

The weather was lovely and the location of the house was great. Just a short walk into the centre of Kendal. The on site parking was a bonus. Also, we had everything we needed in the house and look forward to returning very soon.

Robin's Retreat was a beautiful, comfortable house with everything we could need provided.

A lovely garden for our small dog and in a nice, quiet street. The bed was very comfortable. The lounge was lovely though the settee, which appeared to be an antique with added cushions, was really uncomfortable. Fortunately the two armchairs were fine which was alright for the two of us but would be difficult for more guests. In the bathroom rhe two handles beside the shower/bath were very helpful as the bath is quite deep. We really enjoyed our stay here despite the weather.
