What guests are saying
We had a lovely time at ewedale farm, it is so spacious and relaxing.
The scenery is beautiful and I loved sitting in the hot tub looking out at the view. The kids had loads of space to play and run. The only little concern is that a couple of the radiators weren’t working, one being in the attic room which got quite cold at night and another in one of the bedrooms. Other than this we enjoyed our stay throughly even during the power cut! The kitchen is very well equipped and the beds were lovely and comfy. We would definitely love another stay here.
Loved my stay here, the farmhouse was lovely!
Kids had a great time, lovely and peaceful. My only issues were that there were a few jets in the hot tub that were broken around the casings and my daughter managed to catch herself on one and cut herself, I also nearly did on another. Other than that we had a lovely stay and would recommend it.
A group of 5 of us went up to celebrate my mum's birthday.
We were lucky with the weather and the surrounding areas are simply beautiful. The house was spacious enough and we had a great time. There was plenty of fridge space and kitchen amenities. Ewedale Farm is on a small complex of multiple cottages which means you do have neighbours but it feels private. When we arrived there were an awful amount of flies and a horrible manure smell in the air. The next morning we texted Carole (Property Owner) to let her know and asked about fly traps/spray. She said that they are spraying fields, which if we had been told there was slurry-spraying nearby prior to our stay we would have booked elsewhere or been prepared, as it totally ruined the atmosphere. On top of that, the number of flies was so unhygienic and we couldn't eat outside nor keep any windows open despite the heat as they swarmed in. It was an uncomfortable stay. Carole said she'll buy spray and drop it off whilst we were out for the day. When we returned we didn't see any, I followed up she said that the shops had run out of spray and didn't offer any advice as to what can be done to improve our stay. We managed to drive 10 minutes to a Tesco and picked up our own fly spray instead. Carole's lack of help and tone ("maybe google it") really put a dampener on the birthday weekend. A bit of understanding and empathy goes a long way when you're working with people. If you're booking here, check if there's any slurry-spraying nearby, if not, you'll have a fantastic stay.
