"Couldn’t fault The Old Coach House."
Photos on site don’t actually do the property justice. It’s huge, spotlessly clean and the decor is gorgeous - it’s clearly a well looked after property! Beds were all super comfortable and bed linen all had a luxury feel! Owner popped around Friday with instructions for the hot tub but everything else we needed was easy to find in the property. Perfect property for ours girls weekend away - would highly recommend!
Thankyou Louise much appreciated glad you enjoyed your stay Property Owner

"The house is large and spacious and all bedrooms except the small twin bedded downstairs room were comfortable and well appointed."
The hot tub was lovely and warm and well maintained.and enjoyed by all our family of 7. The garden is secluded and was much enjoyed by our son's dog, but the sound of the nearby motorway meant it was not exactly peaceful. The property is a little dated and some of the kitchen units could do with some attention, but I know that it is on the market, so can understand that this may not be a priority for the owners.

"The description on the Vrbo and Sykes websites stated that there were three bathrooms/showers in addition to a cloakroom."
This was the reason we selected the property, as we expected a minimum of three showers for 10 guests. There was no hot water until Wednesday morning. The owner's representative had no idea how to rectify the issue, and I ended up temporarily resolving it myself. The wireless thermostat still does not work as it is not connecting to the Hive, and the hot water is not on a timer, so it has to be turned on and off manually. The hot tub was not heating, and there were no instructions on how to operate it. The owner's representative did not initially know what to do. It was only on Thursday morning that the temperature reached 36°C, so we were unable to make full use of it. Several visits to the property over Tuesday and Wednesday by the representative meant we were interrupted and could not go out. The lack of instructions at the property hampered us from sorting out these issues sooner.
We are sorry that you were disappointed with aspects of your stay. However, we feel it is important to clarify some of the points raised, as several of the issues described were not due to faults with the property. The hot tub was fully operational prior to your arrival. As you altered the controls during your stay, it interfered with its normal heating cycle. Had the settings been left unchanged, it would have reached the correct temperature by the morning after your arrival. The same applies to the heating and hot water. The guests immediately preceding your stay experienced no problems with the central heating. During your stay, settings were changed in the afternoon, before the programmed heating cycle was due to begin. The hot water was also taken off its normal timed operation. These changes affected the way the systems operated and resulted in the problems you experienced. We do accept that clearer operating instructions should have been available, and we have taken that feedback seriously. We will be improving the information provided to guests and ensuring that our representative is better equipped to assist with the property’s systems. We regret that your experience was not as expected, but we believe it is important that future guests understand that the heating and hot tub were operational before your arrival and that the difficulties during this stay followed changes made to the controls/settings. "The house is absolutely stunning, and so much room."
The location was also perfect, isolated enough that it was peaceful and we didn't have to worry too much about making noise when sitting outside but close enough to local, pubs, restaurants and other entertainment venues. There were a couple of minor issues, no towels, not enough toilet rolls and the garden furniture wasnt put out but these were swiftly rectified. If anything a little too swiftly as it was just after 9am, luckily we were awake but didn't expect to have someone at the door that early in the morning

"We spent 4 days at The Old Coach House as a family of four adults and five children - it was a fantastic place to say."
The house was spotlessly clean, well maintained and spacious with more than enough room for everyone to relax comfortably. The layout worked really well for a big family and the children especially loved having space to play. Everything we needed was provided, and the house felt homely, welcoming and thoughtfully set up. The location was also ideal - peaceful and relaxing, yet still close enough to local amenities. We had a brilliant stay, and it suited us perfectly. We were really sad to have to leave. Thank you for having us!

"We had a wonderful stay at the Old Coach House."
Lovely accommodation and big enough for a family get together for three generations. Great to have a bedroom with ensuite on the ground floor. We had some minor issues with the heating, but the owner was happy to help. Some instructions would be useful for future guests. Great location, with lots of eating options around the Ribble Valley and plenty for the kids to do, including Blackpool Zoo. We hope to come back in the future.

"A fabulous property that enabled two families to share time together in a relaxed setting with all the comfort of home and a spa pool to add a touch of luxury."
John was very helpful and on the end of a phone if we had any questions.

"This is a wonderful property."
It is beautifully furnished and well maintained. There was something for everyone in our party of 8 to do within the property and the surrounding area. We especially loved the hot tub and gardens. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners who made sure that we had everything we needed. We thoroughly recommend The Old Coach House for a perfect family holiday, without any hesitation!

"I would strongly advise thinking twice before booking this cottage, the kitchen has rugs on the floor which feels unhygienic, the bathroom has carpet which is completely unsuitable, and the dining chairs all have cushions that are bound to get dirty."
The biggest issue is that I was charged £550 allegedly for damages, so unless you are prepared to pay this after your stay, it is not worth it. The twin bedroom has no windows, it is right next to the boiler room so it becomes unbearably hot, and it has no cupboards or storage at all. Overall this was a very disappointing experience, the cottage feels like a trap with its setup and excessive charges, and I would not recommend it.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We feel it’s important to clarify the circumstances surrounding the additional charges you reference. Our holiday home is proudly maintained to a high standard so that every guest can enjoy a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment. Unfortunately, following your stay, we encountered a number of issues that required significant time and expense to resolve: The downstairs toilet walls had to be repainted due to splash stains on the walls. Several seat cushions were stained and could not be salvaged, necessitating replacement. The freezer compartment was broken and required repair. The kitchen rug, along with three other carpets, had to be professionally shampooed due to heavy soiling. The outdoor paving had been drawn on with chalk and needed power washing to restore its original condition. The toilet brushes were that heavily soiled they had to be replaced. We understand that accidents can happen, and we always strive to be fair and reasonable. However, the level of damage went beyond typical wear and tear, and the charges applied were solely to cover the cost of restoring the property to its usual standard for future guests. All of the above can be verified though photographs with Sykes and through Debbie at Longridge Helping Hands Cleaning Company. We’re sorry that this has caused frustration, but we hope you can appreciate our responsibility to maintain the home for all who stay. We remain committed to transparency and fairness, and we’re always happy to discuss concerns directly to ensure mutual understanding. In regards to your comments about the property itself, this is confusing as you had nothing but praise for everything about it when I met you there to show you around. Property Owner
