"The Lodge was in a lovely position with views of the lake which were gorgeous."
We felt that the lodge was not particularly well equipped and the furnishings were stained and tired. There was no manual with instructions supplied. Through nobody’s fault there was a power cut on our arrival which we found out about through ringing Lakeside lodge bookings who put us in touch with a maintenance man who was very helpful and pleasant. The power was off until 2245 hrs and we then had no hot water due to the boiler requiring a reset,with no instructions on how to do this and it was past closing time to contact maintenance we resorted to google to find out how to reset the boiler which fortunately worked as it was extremely hot weather, not everybody would be able to do this. Overall we enjoyed our stay but feel the lodge could do with a bit of a spruce up.

"Serendipity is a beautiful lodge, well furnished, spacious, very clean, well appointed and comfortable, with a pleasing view of Lake Windermere."
We really enjoyed our days there and would return. Like any home however, it had its little niggle points: mechanism to change taps to shower head in main bathroom impossibly stiff, dining room chairs need tightening up, no hairdryer and no outside sun umbrella. The latter was very much missed in temperatures of 30 degrees plus! Overall a 4.5 out of 5 is wonderful score, and with only a little TLC and additions, could be excellent at 5 out of 5!

"Our stay in Serendipity lodge was superb."
The position on the site was excellent with views of the lake thanks to the large bi fold doors and so quiet in the evening a good nights sleep was guaranteed. Positioned only a short stroll from Bowness and all its restaurants and bars it provided the perfect base. We look forward to staying again in the near future.

I do feel that the lodge is lacking a bit of love and attention. The sofa and cushions are well worn, the duvet cover in the master bedroom had missing buttons and the towels were mismatched. Just to note the duvet in the master bedroom was far too thick and heavy for me, being a menopausal lady but that’s my problem!! Having said all this, it wouldn’t put us off booking again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Beautiful lodge very clean just couple problems with maintenance one of dining room chairs was broken and fridge door was not fitted correctly so had to be careful when opening and closing door would definitely recommend

"We have stayed in Serendipity for a week on three occasions since 2023, most recently in May 2025."
Overall, the lodge continues to be an excellent choice for our regular holidays in the Lakes but since our visit in 2024 there is a definite need for some tlc. The light coloured sofa and dining chairs are stained (the sofa cushions are now covered with throws), new bedding would be great and the flooring in the kitchen needs repaired. Cleanliness inside the lodge continues to be of a high standard but the glass balustrade needs a good wash and we couldn't sweep the deck as the broom in the lodge is broken. On arrival there was no running water which was problematic and the ironing board and mop were in the lounge which was disappointing. There was standing water in the washing machine too. Serendipity is still hard to beat for its location, view and overall light, contemporary feel compared to other lodges on the site but please give it a little refresh!

The lodge had everything you could need for a short break away, with the exception of a hairdryer which is a must. I did contact the owner after being unable to locate a hairdryer but didn't get a response. It didn't affect our holiday but wouldnt expect to need to take a hairdryer with us. We have stayed in lodges for the last 12 years & there has always been at least one hairdryer in the lodges.

"A lovely lodge with beautiful view of the lake."
Beds really comfortable, but settees could do with being replaced. Would have loved to see a filter coffee machine in the kitchen, as more and more people use them these days (fortunately we took ours with us); however, we would certainly book this lodge again.

It was modern in decor, spacious and warm It’s ideal for walking into the town, so we didn’t use the car very much! The lodge had most standard kitchen equipment apart from baking trays to cook/warm food up in the oven. There didn’t seem to be any! We ate out quite a bit so didn’t bother us too much, but maybe an issue for other guests!

The seating wasn’t particularly comfortable but it rarely is in a lodge/caravan. The kitchen was lacking in serving dishes and oven baking trays. We actually bought some for our own use. Overall, it was a lovely lodge and we would very happily book it again

All holiday parks are owned and managed by a separate company to ourselves. Lake District Lodge Holidays has no association with the owners of these parks or responsibility for the provision of services they offer. At certain times of year, there maybe a reduction in those services, which is outside of our control.
Commercial vehicles, caravans, camper vans, Hen or Stag parties are not permitted onsite. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times and are not be left alone in the lodges at any point during your stay.
You will be staying on an operational holiday park, which means work may be undertaken from time to time by the park owners during your stay. Although Lake District Lodge Holidays will always try to inform guests in advance if something may impact on a stay and if we have prior knowledge. We cannot be held responsible or accept any liability for park operations of which are outside of our control and which we have no knowledge of.
