  • "Well-appointed accommodation."

    First time to the area and I will return. Enjoyed the nearby walks and pub ( The Hest Bank). More instructions about operating the boiler would be helpful. As extra touches, some adult-sized garden chairs would be useful as would a shoe horn and an actual, fold up map of the area, to pore over the dining table.

  • "I had a bit of difficulty with Sykes web site initially, I could not retrieve enter info and nor could my friend, we had to call the host who helped us."

    The accommodation was excellent, splendid location and Jonathan was a very attentive host. I would definitely like to return to this accommodation. Was unable to drive into the allocated parking space, fortunately I was able to park on the street.

  • "Mountain View is a super place if you don't mind a few stairs."

    The location is great with easy access to Lacaster Canal and the Morecambe Bay shore and a 10 min walk to the Morecambe Prom. The Hest Bank Hotel Pub is directly accross the road ser ing good pub food and a selection of ales. The Crossing micro pub nearby is a friendly establishment and well worth a visit. This is our 2nd time at the Mountain View and we intend to return in the future.

    Really comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen. Absolutely fantastic location with views over Morecambe bay. A great base for visiting this part of Lancashire. We absolutely loved our time here and we're sad to leave. We will definitely be back.

  • "We only had a two night stay at Mountain View but it was spot on for us."

    A really comfortable stay especially the beds. Excellent shower . The kitchen has all we needed. Views across the bay and the canal very close made it excellent for walking the dog . A large rug for the dog and we were all happy. Would definitely recommend. Ralph

  • "Our stay at Mountain View could not have been better."

    We absolutely loved the accommodation and John was a brilliant host. It is lovely to see how much care and attention John has put into making sure that his guests have a great stay (and our four legged companion too!). Everything was spot on. The name of the property could also have been Canal View or Sea View - it’s truly a beautiful spot, with breathtaking views from every aspect. We felt really at home and only wish we could have had two weeks instead of one. We could not recommend staying here more strongly and would not hesitate to come back. Thank you, John.

  • "Fantastic property in a wonderful location."

    Furnishings and artwork/decor were absolutely lovely. The owner has obviously put in a lot of work to reach the high standard of quality and presentation we found when we arrived. The bay window seat is a place you can sit and relax while watching the world go by on the canal. Views from every window are outstanding and an added bonus was the great pub literally on the doorstep. Would highly recommend.

  • "We have just returned from an amazing stay at Mountain View."

    This is an owner who has ticked every box to make very comfortable, stylish accommodation. Added to that is the apartments unique location. Next to a quaint canal bridge with stunning views across Morecambe Bay to the Lake District. Hest Bank is handy for trips in many directions, while still being a restful, sleepy village. There is a handy pub/restaurant just across the road (it isn't noisy). Walks from the door abound, and the owner has left very useful instructions with maps to find them. The kitchen is particularly well equipped, while still having lots of space for your own consumables. So many holiday houses forget you need at least one cupboard for your porridge etc. The very friendly owner was only a text message away when we had a query. We whole heartedly recommend Mountain View.

  • "We had a fabulous 4 day break here."

    This is a beautiful property in a fabulous spot. The views onto Morecambe bay were stunning with the canal in the foreground. Great walks to the beach and along the canal. This is a good spot for visiting the Lakes, Morecambe, Lancaster and the Dales. The house was really well looked after, beautifully furnished and clean. We booked last minute as our previous booking fell through and hit the jackpot here. We plan to visit again and bring our kayaks to enjoy the water close by.
