Love this cottage so so much.

Beautiful location. Stunning scenery. We saw Bunny Rabbits;Door Mouse ; Birds of all types; Lots of lovely Lambs ;Horses and beautiful countryside . So Nature at its finest plus also The Exquisite Cottage itself tastefully renovated to a high standard!.. Lovely house - really comfortable.

We loved the sky at night and having a fire in the log burner. My daughter was pleased to still have wifi and a tv. A wonderful part of the world to see new year in. Host called in advance and provided all the information and guidance. Hope to stay again sometime. Thank you.

Our second stay in Spout Cottage and we really enjoyed it again.

The house is still well equipped and the views and surroundings are stunning. Thank you Marzena for the warm communication and tips on our stay.

Everything was really nice, clean, comfortable and well presented.

So much so we have booked to go back soon. It would have been helpful to have a small carton of fresh milk in the welcome pack to go with the tea and coffee provided. We also think that a small freezer in the outbuilding would definitely be an advantage, (there are several reasonably priced brands on the market suitable for unheated outdoor buildings) as the small freezer compartment in the fridge is just not big enough. This was also mentioned in the visitors book by previous guests.

Lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings.

Very clean. Cottage had all you need for a great weeks stay. Beds are so comfortable! Everything you need in the kitchen. Loads of hot water for bath or shower. Couldn’t fault it. And the scenery from house and garden was amazing. Especially in April with all the spring lambs around. Sedburgh is just up the road for shops, pubs and eateries. Lovely walks to be had from the cottage and Sedburgh. Well recommended.

We had a lovely holiday at Spout Cottage.

The cottage is in a quiet, isolated (but accessible) location which is exactly what we were looking for. The cottage was clean, warm and spacious and had everything we needed. The surroundings are beautiful and there were lots of walks on the doorstep. We will definitely be returning.

Love staying here , Marzina is a great host and super easy to talk too .

We’ll be back next anniversary for sure .

We have just returned from another wonderful week at Spout cottage we were also there in the summer.

From all the cottage holidays we have been on over the years Spout Cottage is our favourite and the only one we have been back to for a second time. The cottage is perfect in every way and in particular we love the solitude and the beautiful surrounding countryside. Already looking forward to our next visit.

Lovely stylish cottage .

Very comfortable beds & oil central heating very efficient & warm inside even though there was frost outside on our last morning. Absolutely stunning views from every window. We love it as we have stayed here 8 times in about 7 years . The owners are to be commended in how they have renovated this beautiful cottage. Nigel & Adelle

A lovely cottage amid rolling farmland.

Clean, tidy, comfortable and excellent facilities, including a reliable internet connection. Have stayed a number of times and am always impressed with the variety of wildlife in the vicinity. This time, for example, a hare appeared in the courtyard. On a previous visit we saw a family of hedgehogs. Red squirrels are also evident in the area. Have booked for next year and are looking forward to that!

What a fabulous cottage.

Inside has got good quality things. Top quality kitchen cupboards, top quality bathroom fittings. The bed is so comfortable. It was clean and tidy. Everything you might need is supplied. The location is great very quiet and still. A farmer on quad bike went up past the cottage a couple of times a day, that was the only vehicle we saw. Lots of walks around, and only approx 35 mins walk to town along the river. I would recommend this cottage 100% and hope to stay again in the future.

Excellent property.

The cottage was lovely - and everything worked well so that we were comfortable. Lots of attention to detail by owners to make sure practicalities were easy. The surroundings were beautiful and lots of birds and flowers to observe. And lots of local footpaths with option of walking in higher areas such as Howgill Fells just a short drive away. Sedburgh was welcoming and a nice small town with a helpful Tourist Centre. Kendal was half an hour away and had a nice couple of meals there.

We have had a very relaxing holiday in this very rural location.

Spout cottage is the best equipped and comfortable cottage we have stayed in, It is in a beautiful, quiet spot overlooking fields and wonderful views of the surrounding hills.

Perfect for a restful week away, ideal for the western Dales, the Howgills and the Lakes.

What a wonderful cottage and an idyllic location!

The cottage is very clean and well equipped, with all you need in the kitchen. The garden is just fabulous! We made beautiful walks, just from the doorstep, but also further away (Lake District,...). Loved spout cottage !

Our Favourite place to stay. We loved the Welcome pack of Wine,Tea bags & biscuits. It’s a shame the Lyon’s Ground Coffee wasn’t included this year as in previous years but that’s just a minor point as this Cottage has great interior decor in keeping with a Victorian theme in the Bathroom which we love plus the Well Equipped Stylish kitchen & lovely views from front & back of sheep & fields & hills . Spout Cottage is in a beautiful location with far reaching views of the countryside and Howgills.

The cottage is very well equipped and cosy. The additional pillows and fleecy blankets were a welcome addition. The lane heading to the cottage is single track but there are passing places and is fine if you drive carefully. There are some lovely walks from the cottage - we had a wander down to Farfield Mill one day and then over to Garsdale and Baugh Fell another day. There are also plenty of walks from Sedbergh too, the Sedbergh - Dent circular walk was a favourite of ours. There’s a well positioned bench in the garden which is perfect to catch the sunset and then the night skies. I would certainly recommend the cottage and the owner was very helpful and informative when contacted regarding key collection.

The cottage was very comfortable.

Particularly the bed. The location was excellent. Found the tv difficult to use. Struggled to find the manual on line. Really enjoyed the wood burner. Over all met all our expectations.

We had a fantastic stay at Spout Cottage, excellent location for the Lakes and The Dales.

There were lovely walks from the cottage including Spout waterfall. The Cottage is ideally located in a peaceful area with wonderful views and is well equipped and very comfortable. We have stayed at a few cottages and this is by far the best, we hope to be returning as there is still much we need to explore.

Ideal cottage for those who like to "get away from it all".

Plenty of wildlife in the vicinity including (during our visit) a family of three hedgehogs next to the cottage and a nest of flycatchers which we understand are rare in the UK.

Spout cottage exudes Charm,Elegance,Practicality & Comfort.

We’ve been there 5 times in last 4 years which says it all .. Love the Gorgeous views & it is a place where one can relax & de-stress from the hustle & bustle of everyday life. An enormous amount of thought & time has gone into renovating this stylish cottage in keeping with the surrounding environment.

Lovely cottage and in the perfect rural setting.

Extremely quiet with bursts of lovely birdsong and the occasional bleating of lambs. Amazing views from all windows, my favourite was the small one in the lounge which has ivy around it. Sitting there after a sightseeing excursion was extremely tranquil. The garden is lovely and we were lucky with some sunny days to spend two afternoons in it. The newer garden bench is deceivingly comfortable! The kitchen is full of light from the large windows and so nice to cook and eat in there. The cottage was clean, comfortable and warm. We didn’t need to use the log burner at all. Lovely little welcome pack of biscuits and wine when we arrived. There was only a teaspoonful of sugar in the sugar canister when we arrived but there is a large local Spar just out of Sedbergh. The tumble dryer is in the bike store outside, the dryer door needs a good pull to open but persevere as it will open! The double bed … so super comfortable! Cannot fault the cottage at all and would highly recommend it! Thank you to the owners for sharing such a delight! Note to Sykes: the TV is a Smart TV and there is no longer a DVD player at the cottage as per listing.

A really nice cottage away from any traffic noise but still with all the facilities you need like a washing machine, dryer, WiFi etc.

And the garden is great with a wonderful picnic bench for Al fresco dining. Will definitely be returning!

Excellent location, close to Sedbergh but in the countryside with walks from the house. A very peaceful and relaxing week, would definitely return.

A return trip to this fabulous cottage, which says it all.

We were lucky to have a couple of clear nights and although it was cold the garden was the perfect place to sit and sky watch. Perfectly situated, quiet surroundings but only a half hour walk along the river or a 5 min car drive into the village. The lakes are only a 40 minute drive. A perfect get-away!

The owners of the cottage have obviously put a lot of effort into making this cottage an amazing place to stay.

Great views and wild weather in a cosy cottage.

The cottage is really wonderful, both inside and out.

The moment we arrived it felt perfect. In fact, it is one of the best I have ever stayed in. The cottage looks out over open fields, a beautiful valley, and is completely peaceful. Inside is extremely comfortable and relaxing. The kitchen very well stocked with lots of space. The walks from the door, and views from the yard, brilliant. There are many walks and things to see a short drive away, including of course the Dales and the Lakes.

Spout Cottage was a gem.

The directions provided by Sykes were accurate and easy to follow. The cottage was located in a lovely quiet, remote area with walks from the doorstep so we could leave the car behind. The cottage was well equipped. There is only a small freezer compartment but with lots of local shops, restaurants and pubs this isn't a problem. The views from the cottage are fabulous. Information regarding rubbish and recycling was a bit sketchy but there are recycle point in the sedbergh car parks. Overall I would definitely recommend a stay and we hope to return next year to do more walks.

The cottage was immaculate.

Could not be faulted. Lots of really considerate touches like dishwasher tablets and hand soap. Bottle of wine and a welcome tray. The location is outstanding, really beautiful. This was my second time and I’ll be back. My happy place.

This 'luxury cottage' was tired, grubby & very disappointing.

Arrived to find the leather sofa contaminated with crumbs & a nail clipping. Carpet was dirty, long-hair rug covered in hairs & dross. Dust, dirt & detritus under furniture hadn't been cleaned in days if not weeks. Food waste on kitchen floor & under hob, something like scrambled egg stuck to chair. We could go on. We took photos (stopped at 14). Didn't want to stay but no choice. Left at first light, 200 miles home - that says it all. Owner advises to use water filter due to spring water supply. We were not confident it was fit for purpose. Suggest future customers bring their own filter. The idea the cottage had been 'deep-cleaned' for Covid is risible. Tried to raise these issues with owner, no reply to texts or emails. We chose this cottage due to previous reviews. What went wrong?

We loved our week at well-equipped and characterful Spout Cottage - with all the local walks and hikes to enjoy.

Garden and kitchen particularly wonderful. Living room seating might be a challenge in colder months or we'd consider a low season return.

Spout cottage is a superbly renovated stone farm cottage with fantastic views.

It is located not too far from Sedbergh with its restaurants, shops and other services. Only one drawback - 3 nights stay is nowhere near long enough!

An ideal venue for those that want a really rural setting.

Surrounded by farming land and very quiet (apart from bird calls). Plenty of wild life: we saw, for example, a tawny owl, lots of spotted flycatchers, a hare and wrens in the hedgerow. The wild life is typical of the old English countryside before concrete became king! We were impressed by the standard of cleanliness inside the cottage - full marks to the cleaners. Plenty of hot water on tap. The wifi was very fast. We only had a week at the cottage but have booked 2 weeks for next year!

Beautiful cottage with everything catered for.

Lovely views from every window.Appreciated the Ground Coffee & biscuits as a welcome pack on arrival. Also especially the bottle of Red Wine which is essential to relax after a long drive from London ! Will be back next year. Lovely helpful owner who is always pleasant and cheerful to talk to. We have been here 4 times now which over 4 years which speaks volumes!

A lovely cottage, in a rural location but with easy access to Sedbergh and Kirkby Lonsdale.

The Eastern Lakes, Howgill fells and Yorkshire Dales are close by along with plenty of cycling opportunities The house was made to be very welcoming- warm and a lit Christmas tree in the lounge. We had a perfect break

We had a wonderful holiday in Spout Cottage.

It is secluded, verging on isolated, but still a short drive into Sedburgh to stock up on the essentials. It is a great jumping off point to both the Dales and the Lakes. However, if you don't fancy driving you can depart from the cottage and be on some fantastic walk immediately. Sedbergh itself had some lovely restaurants and cafes. And a surprising number of bookshops. The pre-holiday prep was straightforward; I downloaded the Sykes app and all the details were at my finger tips, backed up with supporting emails. The host was cordial and gave clear instructions on how to access the cottage. The cottage was immaculate and well furnished. All round a great week away and I wish we had booked a second week!

What a wonderful time myself and my family had at this stunning cottage,it was everything we'd wished for and more,an enchanting place!

! If you love solitude, peace and quiet,wildlife and the outdoors this is for you. We've already booked up for two weeks next year. Very well done to the owners.

It’s a lovely cottage , it’s great for a couple of nights but the down sides is the driveway gate way is tight, if you have a 4x4 like we did, it was so close to scraping against the wall and bushes.

But then tho in the smaller room we had to push the two beds together it was overall a good cottage.

Spout Cottage is a true gem.

Many locations stretch the truth when they say they are peaceful, isolated or remote but this truly was a peaceful getaway. As a place to break away from the everyday chaos it was perfect and the setting truly beautiful. If you have no greater care than to enjoy the countryside, wildlife and amazing starlit evenings it is definitely the place to go. I very much hope to return and long may it stay quiet and serene. Top marks to the owner too as the cottage is set out perfectly without detracting from its charm.

Beautiful location, quite remote so ideal for those who want to be away from it all & close to good walks but within a close distance of Sedbergh so great for seeing both the Dales & Lakes if you did want to get the car out.

It was great to come back to a cosy cottage though after a long walk. The directions were much appreciated & anyone going should follow them closely. The owner had thought of everything & there was also a welcoming treat which was very considerate & appreciated! I'm hoping to return again soon as it felt like a home from home

The property is in a lovely quiet location, with a beautiful view from the garden to the south west over green fields and distant hills.

The lane up to the house is very narrow and enclosed by hedgerows, with few passing places. This made us slightly nervous at first, but in fact there was very little traffic. The location is very quiet, apart from the sheep, but we found their constant baah-ing entertaining rather than obtrusive. The house itself has obviously been refurbished in recent years, and this has been done to a very high standard. We found it very comfortable and well-equipped. Outside there is plenty of room to park 2 cars, and also a shed where we were able to store our bicycles. Overall we had an excellent, relaxing week in Spout Cottage and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Thanks!

The cottage is a perfect little gem nestled in the most idyllic countryside with walks in every direction.

Beautifully presented property for a very quiet, relaxing break.

The position of the cottage was set in beautiful countryside with stunning views from all aspects.

The facilities were of high quality with ample kitchen equipment. Such a lovely touch to have enough tea and coffee for the whole of our stay and all the other basic kitchen accessories eg kitchen roll and oil. Although a little remote it was walkable from Sedbergh. If you like walking and comfort this was an ideal base.

Th cottage is ideally located for exploring the southern Lakes and the western Dales.

Local walks are abundant. The cottage really is delightful, well appointed, warm (when required), comfortable and with hot water on tap constantly ( rather too hot, so be careful). Dowbiggin Lane is, as mentioned in the holiday information, very narrow and winding. Be ready for a vehicle coming round the next bend. We had to reverse three times, including for the refuse lorry on Monday. Otherwise, a brilliant holiday.

Spout Cottage is a real gem, beautiful garden with benches placed perfectly to admire the expansive view in the evening sunshine.

What a fabulous cottage.

.so snug and comfortable and the only near neighbours are sheep! The views are stunning, especially at sunset, and we were lucky enough to have snow which was amazing. The cottage is very well equipped and the beds are so very comfortable with beautiful linen and marshmallow pillows. The cottage is ideally placed for visiting both the Dales and the Lake District, and Farfield Mill which is just down the road is a must. We had a lovely welcome basket with wine and coffee, so thank you for that. This is undoubtably the best best cottage we have ever stayed in....it really is home from home. There are no recycling facilities at the cottage, but you can easily recycle in Sedbergh whilst out and about. We would love to return to Spout Cottage, it really is very special, thank you for sharing it with us.

Been Twice to this cottage now .

Lovely Location & very well equipped & beautifully thought out interior. The owner is a lovely lady who is very friendly & helpful on the phone & a bubbly personality. There are only a few minor niggles like a lack of a steamer for cooking vegetables healthily,& some long life milk to go with the tea/coffee already provided & maybe a new rug to replace the one under the brown leather settee as it is a bit tired looking. But these are very minor issues compared to so many positive & wonderfully good points about the property.we are 99% happy with property & location. We have booked for next year already which shows how happy we are. Loved the Red Wine provided in such a beautiful designed Kitchen & Glorious Designed Bathroom& Very Comfortable Bedrooms . You can tell the owner is a Lady with a fine eye for interior design . All credit goes to her good taste.

Spout cottage is very well equipped, clean and comfortable with great views from the back garden. Just around 2 miles from Sedburgh in a quiet location but with all amenities near by. Highly recommended.

Spout Cottage was idyllic & picturesque!

The attention to detail in this renovated cottage is outstanding. Love the Kitchen Butler Sink,Neff Cooker & Hob& Underfloor Heating. The Bathroom is outstanding as I loved the High Cistern & Pull Chain& Brass Taps on Sink&Bath & white wood panelling. There needs to be pictures of the bathroom on the website as it is an attractive feature. Beautiful wood beams & wood doors & staircase . Will come again. Thank you!

We really enjoyed our stay at Spout Cottage.

The location was perfect, beautifull surroundings and very peacefull.The cottage was spotless and the kitchen was equipped to a high standard. We were very comfortable in Spout Cottage. We enjoyed being in the garden and just sitting looking at the view. If you love nature and value comfort this is the place to. It was just perfect!

We enjoyed the tranquillity and wildlife , great walks and views, and just a few miles away from Sedbergh , a great village with all the supplies / pubs you need.
