And probably the best location we have ever been to. Bedrooms were lovely. Several of the pans didn’t work on induction - which limited our cooking a lot. Nice outside space. Really helpful owner. We would return.

As a family of 3 this was a perfect property for us.

It had everything we needed facility wise. The welcome pack of bread, tea, coffee, milk and chocolate was an ideal touch by the owners. The weather while at the property was very warm outside (nearly 30 degrees one day). Thankfully the stone building kept us all cool. I would defiantly recommend this property and all the communication with the owners was clear. Nothing seems too much. Thank you Fiona!

We noticed that the fridge wasn't working.

We informed Fiona and within 5 hours we had temporary refrigeration and by Tuesday a brand new fridge. Very helpful and happy with the speed all this was accomplished. Beautiful views from the kitchen and bedroom windows. All in all we had a delightful stay.

We booked for a long weekend over Easter, we had a lovely time, the accommodation was lovely, with amazing views out of the kitchen window.

It had everything you needed. The owner was fantastic, messaged to say the accommodation was ready early so we could go whenever we were ready and also let us know there was no one booked in the day we were leaving so to take our time checking our. It’s a great base, we explored Yorkshire & the lakes whilst we were there. Great place to stay with a shop & pub only a few minutes walk. There was a welcome hamper when we arrived with tea coffee milk biscuits butter & bread and even some Easter chocolate. Perfect break away, we would definitely stay again.

We had the best time ever at the Magistrate’s Chambers!

It’s the perfect getaway, we couldn’t recommend enough. Perfectly clean with everything provided that we could possibly need, the little touches made it all so special. Our favourite part was watching the lambs play in the field across the road while we were sat in bed!! It’s a great location too, we barely needed to drive unless we were having a day out and even then there were plenty walks and towns within a 20 minute drive. We would love to come back!!

Wow what a wonderful place to stay.

The pictures on line do not do it justice. We had a wi detail stay and made full use of the log burner in the living room. The beds were so comfy and the place was decorated with impeccable taste. From the moment we arrived we were delighted and the owners left such a lovely and well thought out welcome pack. We had the best of stats and thoroughly recommend this place.

Perfectly positioned for the village, bakery, pubs and shops.

Also good for tbe amazing Ingleton falls walk. The cotrage was finished to a high standard, spotlessly clean, it had fabulous fireplaces which made it very cosy for our pre christmas get away. We have already recommended it to friends and are already thinking of returning.

From the first minute of arrival to the last before leaving the Magistates Chambers felt like our home from home.

It was superbly comfortable and displayed is historical heritage wonderfully. Fantastic location to visit all of the nearby attractions, explore the multiple walks and trails and sample the delicious food and drink. Will definitely be coming back. Thank you for a wonderful holiday break.

The property was spacious, and comfortable, with everything we needed for a weeks stay.

It was in an ideal location, as well as many villages in the Dales we also visited Lancaster, Morecambe, and the Lake district, which were all easy reach within an hours drive. Ingleton is a great village, with lots of nice pubs and cafes.

This was a lovely appartment.

So clean it gleamed. Well fitted out (would have liked a wooden spoon in the kitchen) and very comfortable. I found the induction hob tricky at first but that was because I have never used one. Very well situated both for the village, cafes, community centre for tourist information and could walk out of the house onto the moors and dales. Plenty of local information in the communal entrance hall. Fiona was very accomodating to the fact we were arriving by public transport. We are planning to return.

Had a wonderful weeks stay, Beautiful place, clean, comfortable and well situated, walking distance from shops, pubs etc with lots of lovely walks caves and waterfalls to explore.

The owners left a wonderful welcome pack on arrival and the open fires are just what you need after a days Hiking. Would highly recommend :)

Wonderful relaxing weekend away for my birthday.

The owners welcomed us with a lovely hand written card and a loaf of locally baked sourdough and biscuits.There was everything we needed including enough wood to build a cosy fire in the chilly evening. They provided all the cleaning products and utensils which always makes a difference if your bringing your own food to cook. The bed was super comfortable and we had a great night's sleep after a 5 mile strenuous walk around the falls trail. Only negative is the bath is a little small so a long soak of the muscles is tricky if your over 5ft, the water pressure makes it problematic to get the correct temperature at first, but this was all explained by our lovely hosts and shouldn't put you off. Bags of history in the building, a grand old house that has been beautifully taken care of and includes lots of original features like the door bell and telephone which I loved. Nice pub 5mins away for drink or some food. I would definitely recommend a stay there when exploring the area.

The flat was beautifully maintained, with a well-equipped kitchen and lounge, plus thoughtful extras like board games and books. Communication and instructions were clear, making everything seamless. The location was perfect - convenient for exploring the Yorkshire Dales, with local pubs and as Asda petrol station/small supermarket nearby. Truly one of the most enjoyable stays we've had in recent years, so highly recommend!

What a creative and wonderful restoration that has taken place of the old building We stayed for 4 nights at the magistrates chambers we found it a novelty, loved the history and found it funny given we are practicing criminal lawyers!

It was adequate for a short stay, decorated for Christmas it had awesome character and appeal. House was super warm when we turned up the heating and used the log burner - to hot at night - so don’t become over zealous in ramping up the heating to quick. It is ordinarily left at 15 degrees - which keeps it ambient. Bedrooms are both a great size and the addition of sinks in the rooms was brilliant for getting ready at night The house was clean and fresh with a really nice welcome tray with some quality products to enjoy a very kind and thoughtful idea which we really appreciated. We didn’t have any issues with the noise that many keep referring to in reviews in fact we thought give the age, location and restorative work undertaken really done a great job - the odd tractor whizzing by was nothing and when you watch tv etc it is unnoticeable and didn’t cause any issues as far as we are concerned. It is rural and we spent our days outside anyway at night it becomes super quiet. The constructive critique of the place is as follows: - There are no laundry facilities which made it slightly difficult given our wet walking gear which sat in the hallway shoe tray for our duration so would like to see an innovative idea to sort that if possible because we want to visit again for a longer stay but don’t feel we can without laundry There wasn’t many places we could hand our wet heavy outdoor coats after our long walk getting drenched so had to leave them hanging over the bath which wasn’t ideal but it did dry them out with the heat We couldn’t work out where the lady birds kept coming from in the large double bedroom we found no less than 12 in the 5 days we were there The bed was soft but comfortable but we would welcome firmer pillows not feathered and slightly plumper and more of them please There needs to be more informative literature inside the cottage details of local medical services GP/Dentist/Optician, taxi, bus details to places (though we did notice in the communal hallway leaflets and a bus timetable) but would have loved to hear about local recommendations from the owners of things to see and do and food establishments to dine at as Ingleton town itself - the Italian was closed, we did visit the chippy it was cheap and very tasty, we didn’t try the pizza / kebab place as we didn’t get a chance to go You can drive further afield to dine places like Malham / Grassington etc which we did There are spectacular hills close by for long walks it is incredible and we want to return again for that Seasons bakery Oh my God what a discovery it has amazing food so do walk down to buy snacks, eat lunch, or simply treat yourselves to some deliciousness All in all the owners appear to have done a marvellous job with the renovations as otherwise the cottage itself was well equipped in the kitchen Personally we find the leave requests to empty bins and strip the bedding etc a good idea we usually always do this at all places we stay in anyway We needed more logs after the first night and couldn’t get any from the local coop or Asda. We discovered a place that sells logs at Wilson wood farm Bentham Road, David Cocket 07713 055404, it was perfect especially for bags of dry hardwood.

It was a privilege to stay in such a magnificent building. When we arrived it was wonderfully warm and the welcome gift was very much appreciated. We had everything we needed for our stay and our host was really lovely. Thank you.

Loved our accommodation, tastefully renovated, very comfortable big bed & well stocked kitchen.

Fabulously warm & didn't need the log burner, oodles of hot water. Perfectly situated on the outskirts of Ingleton for many walks & attractions in this stunningly beautiful countryside with breathtaking views from the kitchen window. We hope to return next year to continue our adventures. We had a wonderful stay at the Magistrates chambers and it was lovely to meet Fiona on our last day.

The building was amazing and we had a lovely welcome hamper to enjoy during our stay. The location was wonderful just a short walk from Ingleton, pubs and restaurants just down the road. We completed the Three Peak challenge at the beginning of our holiday and the only complaint we had was there are no washing facilities as this part of the refurbishment is still in progress. Fiona was very helpful and offered to do a wash for us which was very kind. We would definately recommend and return to the magistrates chambers. The Magistrates Chambers is fantastic!

The location nearby the town center of Ingleton, nearby the river, nearby the best bakery!! Just wonderful. As soon as you enter the premises you experience the special character of this building! Inside the cottage, which is wonderful and very tasteful decorated. What stands out? Everything!! The cleanliness, the completeness, the wonderful beds, the separate kitchen with lovely views! In one word SUPERB!! Fiona is truly a wonderful host.

The property was such a lovely and comfortable place to stay . The owner Fiona contacted me to check everything was okay with our stay and we met her also during the week . The welcome pack of tea, coffee , biscuits and bread was a lovely touch too ! We will definitely be back

Situated on a noisy (30mph) road which was more like a racetrack at times it certainly wasn't up to the standard we are used to with Sykes.

Anyone thinking of going should be aware of lots of steps. One in the kitchen up to the sink unit, then at the top of stairs to small landing then 5 steps up to the right for main bedroom and 1 step to single bedroom. A few hooks on wall for hanging clothes but just one 4 foot high wardrobe in main bedroom which was used to store pillows. Loose taps. However Fiona was very nice and welcoming

A wonderful place to stay - beautiful building, a very comfortable and restful place to spend time in.

Kitchen was well equipped and we had everything we needed there. Also a great location for walking and exploring the local area (can walk up Ingleborough from the door!). Would recommend and hope to return again.

The Magistrates Chambers were cosy, comfy, clean and very tastefully decorated.

We loved the older features visible alongside the new. Doors, wooden panels and some flooring nodded to the building's history. We loved hearing owls at night and despite the road nearby it was very quiet. We walked a lot - Ingleton waterfalls, Whernside and Malham cove - so coming hot to a hot shower, cosy sitting room and log burner was luxury. Kitchen was very well equipped and the welcome sourdough loaf was very happily received! Thank you Fiona.

The Magistrates Chambers was a perfect retreat to spend Christmas and the decorations and the Christmas tree was a bonus.

The weather was horrendous but it made the cottage even cosier with the log burners alight. It is set in an ideal location to explore the surrounding areas and Ingleton Village had all the necessary amenties including pubs, cafe and the Co-op, along with gift, pottery and hiking shops and a return visit is on the cards and we hope the weather will be kinder. Phill and Fiona, our hosts, are only to willing to help in way and provided a welcoming basket and bottle of bubbly on arrival. I loved staying at Fiona's place!

The location is perfect - no more than 5 minutes (with a 3 year old walker) from the shops and pubs. And about 10-15 mins to the waterfall trail. It is also about 10 mins walk to the bus station (which we used every day since I am not a driver). The apartment is nicely decorated. It feels like being in a boutique hotel. In cold months, the apartment gets warm really quickly. I loved the view from the kitchen and sitting in comfortable sofas in the evenings. The shower worked great, too. Fiona, the owner, is such a great host. I loved the welcome pack she got ready for us. It was more appreciated since my children and I arrived very late after a 4 hour delay. I wouldn't get a chance to go to shops that late. Fiona also helped me with the online grocery delivery that I had missed. She also invited me to see her current project up the stairs - very exciting! I really loved staying at the cottage and communicating with Fiona. Thank you very much and I hope to visit soon again.

We had a wonderful sunny week in this lovely well renovated and comfortably furnished period house.

It is close to village facilities, spectacular countryside views but also a short distance to the West coast, Morecambe Bay and the Southern Lake District . It is sited on a busy road with heavy traffic from early hours but this did not detract from our enjoyment. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

Excellent property.

Home from home. Nice touches from the owner who left tea coffee biscuits bread milk butter plus all cleaning materials. Very handy for pubs and restaurants etc. Great views from the rear window. A nice little seating outside to enjoy wine in the evening, if the weather permits. Only observation is that the bath needs either replacing or installing a walk in shower. Would definitely return and recommend to friends and family.

The property was beautifully presented with everything we could need, and fantastic views as a bonus. Ingleton provided a good range of facilities, and lovely walks from the doorstep. The only negative was some confusion on arrival - Sykes directions for parking/ key collection were unclear, and although detailed instructions are apparently sent separately by the very helpful owner these had been misdirected so we didn't get them! That aside, a fabulous place to stay and highly recommended.

Magistrates Chambers was perfectly located to explore The Dales.

It was well presented, comfortable and had everything we needed. The owner couldn’t have been more helpful especially with arrangements for our late evening arrival, the welcome tray of goodies was a lovely surprise we would definitely stay again.

We had a great time exploring the local area (we can recommend the Ingleton waterfalls trail, Kirby Lonsdale and walks around Ribblehead viaduct) but especially loved returning each evening to relax in front of the log burner. We found the metal dish drainer on the sink awkward in the small space and we should have noted that the toilet was downstairs from the bedroom.

Otherwise we had a very pleasant stay and the village had lots of facilities.

Location is excellent for exploring the Dales, Forest of Bowland and the South lakes. The property is well appointed with most facilities you could need, excellent hosts with great communication before and during our stay.

Great amount of space in each room at this accommodation and it is really cosy and the building itself is really nice.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Kitchen has some really helpful appliances (including a microwave, electric cooker). The sun deck is great with the weather being sunny. Excellent location, near Ingleborough and was just easy couple of minutes to walk to the village. Host was welcoming and kindly provided bread, tea, coffee, etc.

The Magistrates Chambers , is comfortable, well laid out and has everything you would need for a pleasant break.

It is very quiet with no evident rural noise to interrupt your sleep. We would have no hesitation in booking it again. The village of Ingleton is well served with pubs, Restaurants and a fish & chip shop. The location is great for visits to both the Dales and Lake District . Highly recommended.

Good communication from the owners.

A wonderful cottage with everything we needed for a great week. Easy to find and in a great location for the western Dales. Spotlessly clean, comfortable seating and bed and a good shower. We'd definitely rebook if we were coming back to this area.

Firstly before we even arrived the communication with the owners made us feel relaxed and welcome.

The accomodation was way above our expectations, such a stunning building inside and out.The parking space in front of the The Old Court house building was like gold dust. Inside we had everything you could need for a relaxing stay and the decor and little additions here and there made it special. Even better was the Wheatsheaf pub was only a 5 min walk away and the rest of Ingleton inluding the spectacular falls was about 10 mins walk. We managed to do the Ingleborough nature walk & Cave, Ingleton Falls, RSPB Leighton Moss and Fell end reserves. Dont forget to try the Seasons bakery just nearby in walking distance too. Comfortable accommodation well equipped everything we required for our stay.

Good quality renovation of this lovely former court house. Ideal location for walking the three peaks and traveling around this area of the Yorkshire Dales. We would recommend this property if you wish to walk a village and Ingleton Waterfalls which are a short stroll away.

The house was beautifully furnished and very clean.

The Christmas decorations and welcome hamper were lovely details. However there were a number of things we were disappointed with. We couldn’t get any hot water for a hot shower during our stay. I believe there is a technique to it but we couldn’t make it work (we were able to get hot water for the bath though). The internet was also very patchy and kept cutting out during movies. We also ran out of firewood after the first night and were told we had to restock ourselves. There was none left in the local coop and we had to do a 40 min round trip to find some more. One of these factors wouldn’t have been a big problem, but all combined, we left feeling disappointed and like we had been quite overcharged for our stay. We do not feel the price charged was appropriate for the property.

Probably the best welcome pack we have ever been greeted by.

All the rooms were perfectly set out and made for a very comfortable stay. If I could change one thing it would be to do something about the small step into the second bedroom. It was so low as to be not visible causing us to trip on it more than once. Perhaps change the carpet on the step to a contrasting colour?

A very tasteful renovation and adaptation of the original police station and courthouse. We did the Ingleton waterfall trail and would recommend that. The bread from Seasons bakery is lovely and we took some of it home with us to put in the freezer!

We really enjoyed our stay in this unique property which has been nicely converted into a holiday let.

Road noise mentioned by others wasn't actually that bad and it is something I would normally be sensitive to. Ear plugs are provided but I didn't feel the need to use them as the noise of the occasional passing vehicle after 6am wasn't that intrusive. We also had no issues with the cockerel, never heard it at all. Probably due to covid, cushions weren't provided on the sofas so this meant that they perhaps weren't as comfortable as they could have been. Also the bed in the double room was too soft for me and the mattress had some 'roll together', so that did impact on the quality of my sleep. The kitchen has limited storage and workspace, but the room overall looks lovely and is well equipped. Whilst sitting at the table for meals the view was wonderful. The heating and hot water were great, and simple enough to use. Decent water pressure in the shower, and the sinks in the two bedrooms are a thoughful addition as it meant the main bathroom use was kept to just toilet and shower visits. The place was spotlessly clean and quality linen and towels were provided. We'd love to stay again at some point as the cottage is in a great location for waking into the centre of Ingleton and driving to many nearby places of interest.

House very clean and darling little note and welcome gift. Only points that could really improve it would be the internet connection (we found it patchy and for wet weather days with a toddler especially it can be handy to be able to stream Disney+ or YouTube). Only other “nice to have” item would be a small dishwasher but that is because I am lazy and don’t want to do dishes when on holiday! We hope to come back and hire both “Magistrates Chambers” and “The Cells” so that parents can also come with. Thanks for a lovely and much needed break! Anyone visiting, do not neglect to go to the bakery down the road, best sourdough bread as well as many other treats both sweet and savoury.

This is a great place to stay the building and the surrounding area are stunning and the little touches from the owners are greatly appreciated

The magistrates chambers was immaculate with all the things you need for a comfortable stay.

Decorated tastefully with lots of character and lovey views of the surrounding area. The village is just 2 minutes walk away with local shops, supermarket, cafes and pubs. Would recommend the wheatsheaf pub for food and beer garden and the curlew craft tea room for the best homemade ice cream. We did the three Yorkshire peaks which were stunning (ingleborough, pen y ghent and whernside). Clapham and Kirkby Lonsdale are nearby and worth a visit. Didn't want to leave.

Gorgeous accommodation had everything you could need.

Easy walk (few minutes) to pub shop etc . Lovely welcome pack on arrival from owners. Just to warn others there was more road noise then we expected. The road is quite busy from early in the morning. However this would not stop me from booking again if I was to return to Ingleton.

We loved the magistrates court its location was perfect just on the edge of the village but within a few minutes walk.

The owners had gone above and beyond with cleanliness, providing extra cleaning products and having a shared entrance with easy to follow instructions. A perfect holiday with plenty to see.

Superb accommodation 1st class

Magistrate’s Chambers is a beautiful cottage in an ideal location in the Yorkshire Dales.

We stayed with our 18 month old daughter and found it was perfect for our family trip. We would highly recommend and would certainly stay at Magistrate’s Chambers again.

The cottage was tastefully decorated throughout, it was fabulous.

We didnt think it would be that nice! Super cosy and an added bonus of it being decorated for Christmas. The beds were really comfortable, we were in bed early every night! It really Is a 3 minute walk down the road to the centre of the town to pick up supplies or have a drink. We found the Old Post Office was our favourite and then the Masons on the road near the coop petrol station was super friendly and a great selection of yummy food. We did the Ingleton waterfalls which I would recommend if you are able to walk over rugged terrain. Only very minor draw back was there weren't enough cleaning products / facilities supplied. As we were staying for a week with a 2 year old it really would have helped having a washing machine and I also would have liked to have been able to clean around the fireplace better as it was a battle trying to keep the bits off the wood, ash etc. contained. Other than that we would stay again and would definitely recommend for people to stay there. Excited to see how the upstairs will turn out once they have finished renovating!

Fabulous cottage, on 2 levels, everything you could need.

The drawing room is a little dark and the lighting is only just about adequate.

A standard lamp would have been useful for reading/knitting. Beautiful area with lovely walks direct from the house.

Lovely flat and beautifully decorated.

Owner very welcoming and could not have been more helpful. Perhaps make it clear in description that the cottage is on a main road.

Magistrates Chambers is a lovely base for seeing wonderful Yorkshire.

Everything you need is there. It is warm and cosy and clean. The beds are very comfortable and the cockerel did not wake us at all, just the morning traffic as it is next to a main road.

The Magistrate's chambers was very comfortable and affordable.

The owner left her number incase we needed her ( we didn't) it was beautifully decorated, warm and clean. Situated in a village location very close by to some spectacular views and walks. I would definitely recommend this apartment on 3 levels.

We had a lovely long weekend stay in the magistrates chambers.

Easy to find and instructions from fiona on how to get in really clear. Lovely to be met with a tea tray on arrival and the shortbread went down well. Ideally located for walking and the waterfall trail is a must! Having a choice of pubs and restaurants in walking distance was ideal. Property itself was equipped just right for a long weekend.. and please don't be put off by the "farm" or "cockeral" noises commented by others.. the walls are so thick we barely heard it!!!

The property exceeded expectations based on details on website and photos seen.

The tea, coffee, milk and cakes were very thoughtful after a long drive. The house was beautifully warm despite the cold weather. Every room was well presented and very well equipped for the needs of three people. The ear plugs for potential animal noises was a very nice touch but soon 'tuned out' and didn't need them. Would highly recommend this property 10/10.

This place is lovely.

When we arrived there was a personal happy birthday message left for my husband with a cake and bottle of yummy prosecco. Such a lovely place. The beds are so comfortable and the log fires made our evenings. I would recommend this accommodation to families and couples if they are wanting to just get away and relax :)

The Magistrates Court is without doubt the best property that we have booked with Sykes Cottages.

The owners have created a unique and well designed holiday accommodation. You realise how much care has been taken with the furnishing. We just loved staying there.
