Rose Cottage

We had a wonderfully restful time and we'd heartily recommend all aspects of the cottage, from its proximity to the impressive Malham Cove, waterfalls, countryside walks and Gordale Scar, to thr brilliantly refurbished cottage and back garden.

So impressed - Thank you!

This was our third visit to Rose Cottage, fortunately the weather was slightly kinder to us than last September.

We arrived to home made mince pies which put a smile on our faces! There are fabulous walks from the door step and two good pubs in the village. Had nice meals in both but The Lister Arms was our favourite. Town End farm shop is also worth a visit. Thank you Barbara and family.

A lovely traditional cottage, but with all the comforts.

Perfect location with two lovely pubs on the doorstep.Lots of lovely walks and also plenty of places to visit further afield. The owners are local and on hand if needed at all. Bed was very comfortable and shower excellent. We didn't need to light the fire but if we had there was a very good supply of fuel. Thank you for a lovely stay Barbara and we hope to be back!.

A lovely cottage a real home from home.

Enjoyed all the local walks including Malham Cove, Tarn, limestone pavement, Janets Foss, and Gordale Scar. Recommend local farm shop at Airton. So many local towns to visit including Settle and Skipton. Barbara the owner and her entire family were so welcoming. We’ll miss hearing the sheep!

A great holiday cottage, well equipped, clean and comfortable.

Welcoming and helpful owners. It makes a good base to explore this lovely area including some great local walks. The village is well served with pubs and restaurants.

The cottage was fabulous.

Cosy, maybe even small for 2 adults and 2 teenagers, but warm, comfortable and welcoming. Had everything we needed! Fabulous shower. Owner and family live nearby and we met them all. They were warm and welcoming and invited us to local activities over Christmas, but were never intrusive. A beautiful house in a beautiful location!

We have stayed in many cottages over the years and would say this is certainly one of the best.

A wonderful comfortable cozy cottage right in the heart of Malham, equipped with everything you could need. Fabulous walks from the door and further afield. Great beer and atmosphere in the Lister Arms. Autumn is a brilliant time to visit. We watched salmon leaping, shooting stars and even saw the comet.

Walkers paradise, brilliant walks. Sampled all three local public Houses/ hotels. Very friendly great food.

Great stay.

Perfect location for us that allowed us to explore the area with ease. Well equipped cottage, nice comfortable beds, log burner and s parking space right outside the door in the centre of the village. Nice to meet the cottage owners who are very local and be made welcome.

17th century cottage full of character.

Lovely modern bathroom and a garden looking out over fields which was a sun trap in the evenings. Lots of walks from the doorstep plus loads to see and do a short drive away. Lots of info in the cottage. Would have been nice to have a small amount of tea, coffee, sugar and milk on arrival but small shop down the road and Asda delivered our weeks supply. Pubs near by for serving meals, a cafe and a farm shop a short walk/drive away

Rose Cottage is a lovely old cottage in superb location.

Cannot fault it except for not having wardrobe in twin bedroom, it has a dressing table but I think this could be replaced with a small wardrobe.

We had a lovely time staying in Rose Cottage.

It was clean, the bed was comfortable, the sofas were comfortable and the shower was excellent. There is a really good pub just over the road from the cottage and lots of good walks from the doorstep. The weather was appalling but we managed to get out walking most days and the one day when the rain was too awful to walk we relaxed in the cottage in front of a lovely fire. Highly recommend the nearest pub, good beer and good food. Hope to return to Malham and Rose Cottage soon, thank you for the flowers Barbara, they were a lovely touch and much appreciated.

We’ve stayed in Malham on many occasions but this was our first stay at Rose Cottage.

We were absolutely delighted that it met our expectations- the location is perfect, parking outside the door, well stocked log burner and really comfortable beds.

Rose Cottage is the perfect place to stay.

It is in the centre of Malham which is a delightful setting near to some really nice walks and with the benefit of its own parking. The cottage itself was exceptionally clean and met all our needs. (And there are two pubs nearby whose food we can really recommend). Whats not to like ?

We had a very enjoyable week at Rose Cottage in the beautiful village of Malham.

Our hosts were very friendly and gave us good advice on pubs, walks and farm shops, especially the Courtyard Cheese shop, which was brilliant! The cottage is in a great location for visiting the numerous attractions of the Yorkshire Dales. The outdoor patio and garden was a wonderful spot for meals and a glass of wine.

We loved staying at Rose Cottage.

It is the most comfortable and homely cottage we have stayed in, with so much character, and had everything we needed. It is perfectly situated for exploring the Dales and so tranquil with beautiful views. The bed was extremely comfortable and we left after a week feeling very rested.

We really enjoyed our stay and all the facilities were as described.

We really appreciated the warmth and friendliness of the welcome from Barbara who we saw on our arrival. Her advice was very welcome and helped to make a really successful stay.

We were very made welcomed .

The cottage was really homely and we felt very much at home. The only down side is the fact that one can not have a dog but I fully appreciate the owners reason for this.

A very well equipped,comfortable cottage in a good position for going on walks.

There are restaurants nearby as well as a cafe.

Everything thoughtfully provided.

Including all kindling/logs/ firefighters and matches and kitchen necessities. Two pubs one restaurant and a daytime lunch/sandwich establishment all nearby. Be aware there are no grocery shops. Very good hiking location and reserved parking on the doorstep.

Handy to have parking outside. Didn’t eat in much as 3 nice pubs and a tea room within a mile. Nice to meet the owner and her daughter. Only thing we couldn’t find were clothes pegs:) Would definitely stay again/recommend

Rose Cottage is absolutely perfect for a stay in beautiful Malham.

Warm, cozy, traditional but with all modern conveniences. Neighbors and the wonderful cottage owner were so friendly and welcoming and made me feel quite at home. Would highly recommend in every way!

We have enjoyed the most amazing week at Rose Cottage.

We literally enjoyed every moment. Fantastic to be able to walk from the door, visit beautiful places and then return to the comfort of the cottage in the evening. Superb - we cannot wait to return again!

Fantastic location for walks and visiting Lake District and Harrogate. Cottage had everything you need for a self catering holiday . Lovely sunny garden too to chill at the end of the day .
