This property needs a thorough deep clean.

Cobwebs everywhere on arrival, lots of dust, grotty bathrooms and stains on blankets. Two of the beds did not have mattress protectors and had large stains on the mattress. The property has great potential as we enjoyed the peaceful location and the proximity to the river, the garden and outdoor area was lovely and the kitchen is large and well equipped. Games rooms were great. However, you also need to think about seating in the living room- there were 7 of us and only seating for 5 people. A few other simple things like coat hooks near the front door to hang our coats would be helpful and hooks in the bathrooms to hang your towels/clothes up. A welcome pack would also have been nice- previous guests mentioned getting one in the guest book but we didn’t get one!

We had a lovely stay at Inglenook cottage and really enjoyed the location and the peaceful surroundings, It's a fantastic base to explore the Lakes.

The welcome pack was a nice touch, although an extra loo roll or two would have been nice! The cottage has plenty of character, the rooms are all large and the steam train chugging past, giving a cheery whistle was a daily highlight. The pool table was a real hit and kept us entertained in the evenings. Inglenook could be a fantastic holiday home with a little TLC. There are a few areas that we feel need attention. The mattress in the back bedroom is quite uncomfortable and would benefit from being replaced, as would the sofas, which are looking rather tired - there is not enough seating in the lounge area for a large group to sit comfortably together, which was disappointing. There is a musty/damp smell downstairs, which was very noticeable during our stay and would be worth investigating. Overall, we enjoyed our break, but addressing these points would make a significant difference to the comfort and overall experience for future guests.
