  • "Yew Beck is an absolutely beautiful cottage in an idyllic location!"

It had everything we could need for our stay and the welcome hamper and extras were a lovely touch. If you want to get away from it all, this is the place to stay; everything was so peaceful and quiet. The accommodation was cosy, comfortable and stylish and really felt like a home away from home. We had the most wonderful stay and would not hesitate to come back.

  • "Yew Beck Cottage was a joy to stay at, a perfect location to get away from it all, with additional interest of donkeys, emus, peacocks, guinea fowl and chickens!"

Kate is a fabulous host with everything provided that might be needed, including lovely fresh eggs. The only requirement is to bring clothes and food! We loved relaxing in the evenings on the comfy sofas in front of a roaring woodburning fire and walking our dog in the local area. We found we were able to access all further afield areas of the Lakes with ease and Kate recommended some wild swimming spots. We would certainly recommend Yew Beck Cottage and hope to return there one day.

Paul I really appreciate your positive comments - glad to hear that you had everything you need here. So pleased that you found the little yarn fit your wild swim Thanks again Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful time staying at Yew Beck Cottage!"

Kate could not have been a better host! We came with our two daughters, 9 & 11, and they were absolutely delighted by all of the animals -- from the sheep to the donkeys and peacocks to Kate's adorable dog 'Guinness.' The cottage is perfectly set-up - exactly what it looks like in the photos - and very comfortable for a family of four. It was our first visit to the Lake District and we really enjoyed the location. It was well positioned for daytrips out to the Lakes and all the surrounding villages. But it was also really well situated for lovely walks right out the door without getting into a car. A walk to the local pub is a must and was actually one of the most delightful walks we took all week. We had a great week and hope you do, too!

Thanks for your kind words Petra - I’m really pleased that you all enjoyed your first time in the Lakes. It was perfect timing for you to see the sheep being sheared just as you arrived! Thank you to the girls for helping feed the donkeys & meet the emus - they all loved the attention! Property Owner

  • "Just returned from a short break at Yew Beck and have loved every minute."

Our first time in the Lake District and have fallen in love with it and will definitely return to this beautiful cottage. The cottage is perfect and has everything and more that you may need for your stay. There is no need to bring anything from home apart from your clothes. The cottage is immaculate, the bed is so comfy and the cottage is so clean. The view, the noise of the animals throughout the day just makes this cottage a perfect little getaway away from everything.

So glad you enjoyed your stay Cathy, thank you for your lovely feedback Property Owner

  • "The listing proved spot-on; our expectations were met without a hitch."

Nestled in a serene location, we adored the farm's delightful array of animals – from emus and peacocks to turkeys, donkeys, goats, sheep, and even a lively cockerel! The thoughtful welcome treats, including ones for our four-legged friends, were a lovely touch. Cooking was a breeze with well-equipped amenities, thanks to Kate's meticulous attention to detail. Our stay was truly delightful.

Thank you for your kind words Joanne - so good to hear that you had everything you needed to enjoy your stay (even with summer & winter in 2 days!) Glad there was plenty of space for the boys to play rugby in the field too Property Owner

  • "We had a fantastic stay at Yew Beck Cottage and can’t wait to return!"

The owner was close by and very helpful if needed but also very much left you to enjoy your stay. Perfect spot to relax and felt like a real escape. The beds were comfy, showers were fab and also a bonus of black out curtains! Living area had everything and more and the log burner too! We all enjoyed our stay very much and our little boys didn’t want to leave!

Ahh thank you Sam - really pleased that you all enjoyed your stay. Well done to your two boys who led you a mile over the moorland behind the cottage to the Manor pub at Oxen Park (& back!). Active little legs! Property Owner

  • "We had the most fabulous, relaxing time at Yew Beck."

It is the perfect rural retreat to unwind and escape too. It really is a special place nestled in peaceful and beautiful surroundings. The cottage has everything you need, just bring along your food and drinks. Kate was the best hostess, so friendly and always on hand if we needed her. We loved waking up to the sound of all the animals around us and watching them from the balcony (especially Guiness THE cutest little patterdale who we could have happily have sneaked home with us.) We can’t wait to return later on in the year :)

Kelly & Ash - Thanks for coming to stay - & dog sitting Guinness! So pleased to hear you enjoyed your break & your own beautiful dogs had fun too. Looking forward to seeing you again soon Kate x Property Owner
