What guests are saying
We found The Coach House spacious and comfortable to be in and the views from all rooms were spectacular.
The outside seating area was private and lovely to sit there with a drink and look at the beautiful surroundings. Getting the car up to the cottage was very tight and anyone with a large car might struggle or even not be able to drive around to the front of the cottage. It would be a nightmare to have to reverse out. Otherwise all good. We would like to return.
The Coach House should be renamed the Cobweb House - I have never stayed in accommodation that needed a deep clean more!
There were cobwebs in every room, in the top corners, across the ceiling, under the coffee tables in the lounge, around furniture in the bedrooms, under the radiators - pretty much everywhere. Plugging in my phone charger was a daily brush with newly formed cobwebs - good job I'm not afraid of spiders! The radiator in the downstairs toilet was covered in rust, there was no towel rail/hook for the hand towel and when I reported that the kitchen bin did not open I was told by Sue, the host, that sometimes it didn't open and I should lift off the whole lid unit to put rubbish in the bin. This I feel was unacceptable - it was a pain to use this bin during food preparation. It's such a shame that the cleaning had been neglected and we didn't have a working kitchen bin, as we were pleased with the house and location (we loved hearing the sheep every day). The welcome pack of milk, bottle of wine, biscuits, a small supply of tea and coffee and fresh flowers on the dining table were appreciated and a nice touch, however.
The holiday cottage was wonderful, a comfortable bed and an excellent shower made for a relaxing and spacious experience.
the position in Giggleswick is perfect for all that the Dales has to offer with Settle just a short walk away a stroll down to Ye old naked man for morning coffee is a perfect start to the day. My brother and I had a great holiday. Thank you.
