Flowers, biscuits and wine on arrival. The cottage was spotlessly clean as usual, a lovely home from home. Had sunny weather which was a bonus. Cottage is very conveniently situated and good parking right in front. Looking forward to visiting again in July.

Settle is a lovely place with all the facilities and services you need for a holiday. I travelled solo and all my journeys were by train, I left the car at home. The cottage was very comfortable and welcoming with milk, biscuits, wine and beautiful flowers there on arrival, big thank you. Great walks and scenery from the door. Plus the locals were very friendly. I would definitely recommend this lovely cottage.

The little house is perfect to use as a base for walking in this area, and parking outside the property was really beneficial.

The local town is also a short walk away with plenty of eateries/pubs to choose from, also a handy ASDA petrol station with store and a CoOp store. We were aware via previous reviews that the house sits on a main road, so it was a little noisy from 6.30am with lorries passing through. Good to have a full array of kitchen appliances/crockery/glasses etc as we did cook most evenings. Lovely bathroom and shower. Good to have a WiFi code and easy to connect. Some of the tourist leaflets in the front room were out of date, so prices and info were incorrect (might be worth going through them and updating ready for next season?). Lots of storage space in the main bedroom with a comfy bed. Good to have a TV and so many DVDs to watch if we wanted to! We would recommend this property to others.

Lovely flowers, wine and biscuits on arrival. Very comfortable bed with very nice duvet and sheet. Bathroom very well appointed. Looking forward to visiting again in 2025. Ideally situated in Settle with good parking.

We had stayed at this beautiful cottage the year before so knew exactly what to expect which was a peaceful retreat just close enough to the amenities to make all our walks and visits within comfortable reach and the cottage owners are really friendly and approachable with plenty of local knowledge and ideas ☺️

The owners were very welcoming. It was a bonus having the craft centre and cafe right behind us. We were there this February so we popped in a few times for coffee and a browse around when the weather was bad. Everything very handy in Settle. We had to ‘find’ dog walks but well worth it. Gigglesworth fields and river walk a favourite. A good week away.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful area.

Very clean and comfortable everything you need was supplied by the owner the bottle of wine and biscuits and a pint of milk in the fridge was a nice touch will definitely be going back

We had fantastic weather and a great week of walking.

Pen y Ghent is only up the road and two days we walked from the house. The cottage is well equipped and a short walk from town. Parking space outside the cottage and shopping at Pringles behind if required!

I have been several times now. Very clean and comfortable. Nice bedding and well equipped kitchen. Would not hesitate to recommend. Good position on the outskirts of Settle.

This was a great experience and the property owners were very helpful with local knowledge and making themselves available if we had any issues but we had a really pleasant break which was enhanced by the obvious enthusiasm of Paul and Jan in what is an area they love as do we and they also managed to provide beautiful weather

I stayed at Watershed Cottage for a short walking holiday.

It has a lovely west facing sitting room with a deep window that benefits from the evening sun and views across the river. There is a practical dining kitchen at the front of the house. The listing mentions the busy road. I didn't find this a problem as the main bedroom and the sitting room are both at the back of the house. The cottage's situation is perfect with plenty of excellent walking in the immediate area. There are good local bus and rail links from Settle.

I want to go back as soon as possible! Clean, comfortable and warm, in a beautiful setting and the wine, flowers and delicious biscuits were a really nice touch.

Milk in fridge!! Well equipped and nicely furnished with comfy beds and lovely bathroom. Very quiet despite being on the main road. Great location for exploring the dales, we will certainly return!

It is in a very convenient location just at the edge of Settle. The cottage is warm and comfortable with nice bedding and good kitchen facilities. Would not hesitate to recommend. Ideal for a single person or couple. There was wine, biscuits and flowers on arrival.

Ideal parking right outside the door and everything you could need for a relaxing stay provided!

The cottage is very close to Settle and all the amenities.

Walks could be planned to start from the cottage and there were bus routes to other interesting places. The cottage was clean, cosy and quiet.

The cottage was lovely, very well equipped and cosy.

We were perfectly situated to walk into Settle and easy driving distance to lots of lovely places. Only little niggle was parking, we were told to park right outside the cottage window but someone else was already parked there when we arrived and the car didn't move for three days. Once in the cottage it did state we could park on the mill behind but we were concerned about security as well as having to carry our shopping. This did not ruin our holiday as the cottage was lovely and we would stay here again.

This cottage was so lovely and we had a super time, helped by wonderful weather.

Settle is the perfect location. I would say that the photos don't do the cottage justice. We travelled by train in the end and this cottage is perfectly equipped. For those who are packing, it also has: hairdryer, cafetière, tea towels, good sharp knives, paper towel, toilet paper and spare shampoo etc. You just need salt and pepper. It also now has WIFI which worked very well. Very close to Settle on foot (cut through makes it even quicker) and can walk back from Langliffe. Jan and Paul super helpful and kind. Highly recommend!

Lovely cottage, great location for driving to all 3 peaks The cottage has been modernised (bathroom was very wow) but it retains its cottage vibe.

The neighbours were all friendly too :)

The cottage is very clean and the bed is very comfortable. Despite being located next to the road, there wasn't any road road noise at night.

A clean and well equipped cottage in an excellent location for the many attractions and walks that this part of the Dales has to offer.

From the cottage you can walk into and around Settle or take the train through splendid scenery or drive into magnificent scenic and walking countryside. We loved the cottage and surrounding countryside.

The cottage was warm and welcoming the flowers and starter pack was well received after a long Bank holiday journey.

The mill next door was ideal for getting breakfast and of course shopping. The owners had paid great detail to the pictures on the walls being of the area, the cottage was within walking distance to the town. The chip shop was also good with a eat in restaurant,shops open late for last minute groceries. The swimming pool was also a great place to visit. Settle railway was a great day out travelling to Carlisle, we also visited Kinsey park estate as Skipton which was great for children with a nature trail and small trout fishing area. We also visited the White Scar cave and when on the tour into the caves well worth it. But the best part of the holiday was returning to a warm and welcoming cottage to rest and plan the next days adventures. Thanks for a great time

This cottage was perfectly situated to the village and the Dales.

Cottage was cosy and lovely and warm.

Shower was very efficient. Lounge was very nice and the seating was comfortable . Really liked the location; overlooking fields and the railway tracks (could view steam train on the Tuesday), easy walk into Settle . Having the cafe at The Mill next door was also useful.

The cottage is in a perfect location between settle and Giggleswick, probably 5 to 7 mins walk either way It is adequately stocked with all the kitchen equipment you would need.

It is light and airy and at the time we stayed the weather was glorious so didn’t really need the heating apart from a little burst of the gas fire when we came back at night. But I would imagine it would be cosy and warm in the cold weather too. We enjoyed it that much we are looking to stay there again next year.

what a lovely clean well equipped cottage 5 mins walk via the snicket into settle centre with pubs , restaraunt and shops not far from the railway station and bus stops , great for walking would highly reccomend this cottage and will be returning

Lovely cottage on the outskirts of Settle.

Ideal for a car free holiday, just park up and walk everywhere if you wanted. Comfortable beds, lounge and a nice kitchen/diner. Though situated on a busy main road we didn't find the noise to be disturbing. If I was nit picking I'd say we missed not having wifi, but to be honest it was refreshing to disconnect to. Highly recommended and I'll certainly book again.

this was a beautiful cottage in a beautiful area.it suited us perfectly.the owners catered for everything we needed.we had no problems during our stay.there were lots of nice walks from the cottage.settle is a lovely place to stay and very dog friendly.we will use sykes again in the future as it was a straight forward booking and no issues.

The advert says end cottage but it isn't there is another which is on the end.

It's on a very fast noisy road, with no front or back garden , so stepping out of front door onto narrow parking area. We found the beds very hard and uncomfortable and sky light windows difficult to access and open in the bedrooms. Very nice touches of flowers milk and biscuits on arrival and very clean. The tv remote wasn't working the batteries hadn't been checked for a while and fridge light wasn't working either.

A dear little cottage on the edge of Settle and within easy access to the Yorkshire Dales.

Returning on holiday from Australia often after 40 years living there, it was lovely to be comfortable in a homely atmosphere. May thanks to you, Sykes Cottages.......our 4th or 5th so far.

This is too near the main road which is a very busy road.

The cottage itself is good. Not good for dogs or children would be ok for adults. The dales are very busy at weekends with walkers cyclists and motorcycles all vying for the same bit of road. Settle is within walking distance and has a really good pub/hotel The Golden Lion great food and helpful staff.

The head board to the double bed is loose and bangs whenever you get in and out of bed and when you move the pillows also the toilet cistern is extremely noisy when flushed otherwise a lovely cottage

Only reason I marked down on the description was that it's described as an end terraced cottage which isn't correct.

But it wasn't a problem. Made to feel very welcome by the owner with flowers, milk, tea, coffee and biscuits and lots of local info. Great location. Although on a busy road the walk to Settle and Giggleswick is safe and easy with pavements and crossing points. Only 10 mins walk to both places with pubs and restaurants.
