  • "Had a great family holiday staying in West View Cottage."

It was very comfortable for the 6 of us — clean and well equipped. We really appreciated the amazing bathrooms and large Utility Room which was ideal for drying off clothes after some of our rather wet walks ! Also handy for popping into Settle with its shops and great places for tea and coffee. A great base for visiting the Dales.

  • "Enjoyable stay in this property in Settle."

Easy walking distance into the centre, lots of shops/cafes/eating places. Highly recommend The Golden Lion for an evening meal (make sure you book in advance) Short walk to the Settle railway station too and we had a wonderful ride from Settle to Carlisle - beautiful scenery! May we make a couple of suggestions? The front double bedroom would benefit from a mirror and a wall chart or reminder could be displayed in the utility room to show when bins need putting out for emptying. When we where there both exterior bins were full.

  • "Excellent in most aspects but one important issue for us and we noticed others have mentioned the same issue ."

There is no handrail on the stairs. This is dangerous for the young , the old and those with mobility difficulties . Also could do with litter bins in bedrooms . Other than these things I would have no hesitation in recommending this beautiful cottage to others .

Glad you enjoyed the house. Appreciate the suggestion about the handrail and we are getting one fitted in the next few weeks. Property Owner

It was warm, clean and very well equipped for a staycation where we were doing our own cooking. The centre of Settle was a 5 minute walk away which was ideal. Places such as Malham Cove and the 3 Peaks were all easily accessible (by car). We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend it. The owner replied to questions quickly and was extremely helpful.

  • "We had an excellent stay in this really lovely, spacious cottage."

Plenty of room for 4 adults and 2 teenagers. Two large bathrooms both with excellent showers and a well equipped kitchen. Located on a really quiet street, we had no problem parking 2 cars, just a 5 minutes walk from the centre of Settle which has everything you need. Co-op, Bakery & Cafe, Pizza takeaway, Fish & Chips, Pubs etc. There is also a lovely Riverside walk. It's perfectly located for easy access to Malham, Clapham, Austwick, Ingleton and the Ribblehead viaduct. Nothing was more than a 25 minute drive away. All in all an excellent week in an excellent location where we felt very much at home.

  • "The cottage was excellent-extremely well equipped and comfortable."

Plenty of space for 8 people and located right in the heart of Settle. Well placed for all amenities-5 min walk to the pub is always a winner! The cottage itself was nicely furnished-modern but with character. A pleasure to stay in and even a Christmas tree up to help us feel festive! Great service from the owner who was friendly and helpful when we had a minor issue working the heating (all our own fault). Would definitely recommend and happily return to.

  • "This property was fantastic."

It was decorated to an extremely high specification and had everything that you could possibly need. It was modern but cozy and easily accommodated the six of us (eight people would be no problem too). Plenty of bathrooms and the large freestanding bath was great after a day walking! The location was great, and the house is extremely central. Settle train station was only a 5 minute walk away so perfect if you are planning to walk any of the Yorkshire Peaks. The village has a good range of shops, a tourist information and plenty of cafes and pubs. We would definitely return to this property if coming back to the area. Thanks for a great stay.

SETTLE

Malham 6 miles; Skipton 17 miles; Kendal 25 miles.

The bustling market town of Settle lies at the south west rim of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, nestled beside the largest outcrop of limestone in Britain - a region of scars, cliffs, caves and potholes - amongst some of the most picturesque scenery in North Yorkshire. Tuesday is market day in Settle, when the square is filled with stalls offering a wide variety of crafts and goods. The market place is surrounded by local businesses, the centre being dominated by The Shambles, an historic three storey building with shops on two levels and houses above, and the Town Hall. There is a good selection of restaurants and pubs and a public swimming pool. The Victoria Hall has entertainment and other activities such as folk nights throughout the year. The famous Settle-Carlisle Railway crosses some of the most beautiful and inspiring upland scenery in the country. Natural attractions such as Malham Cove and Gordale Scar are within easy reach, as are the nearby Dales towns of Skipton and Malham. Settle is in the midst of excellent walking country and is a good base for touring the Dales, the Lake District and the Forest of Bowland.
