What guests are saying
Downstairs toilet was completely blocked for the entire visit.
No bulbs in the twin bedroom therefore there was no lights. The kitchen tap came off if the pressure was too hard. No running water from the hot taps on the sink or the bath in the very top bedroom. The shower in the very top bedroom was either extremely hot or extremely cold. There was no Inbetween therefore unusable. The bin coming on a Wednesday we stayed on a Tuesday therefore the bin was full and overflowing when we left on Saturday. Stains on the carpet which we made sure we took photos of so we didn’t get accused of cause them and lose any money. Reported all of these items via Sykes as they are the third-party company which lets this property out it’s not actually like lovers and they did nothing and we have receiving no compensation.
A perfect place for a 2 night stay with family young and old!
We stayed for my mums 70th birthday. The property is a beautiful welcoming place with great social areas. The living room is huge and the sofas are extremely comfortable, we had 2 toddlers with us and the added bonus of the cupboard full of kids toys for children of all different ages was a really lovely addition and much enjoyed by the kids. The tv isn’t the easiest to work but we didn’t really use it so wasn’t a problem. The kitchen is beautiful and well equipped with everything you could possibly need (there was even a tea cosy!) The bedrooms are all a really good size and because of the size of the house and how solid it is (the photos don’t do justice to how big it is) we found that noise doesn’t travel upstairs so it was perfect for not disturbing other family members if anyone wanted to stay up late etc. The only thing we did struggle with slightly was the parking as we had 2 cars with one being a 4x4. 2 small cars would probably be ok in the allocated spaces but we struggled to fit 2 in and there isn’t really any alternative parking such as on street, but other than that everything was perfect! A really fantastic stay, thank you.
Spacious cottage in a peaceful location close to Windermere.
Peaceful and away from the tourist noise but close enough you could walk in to the town. Unlike most other properties we have stayed in, there was no welcome book , no instructions for anything which was a shame. We couldn't get BBC on the TV's which maybe us but with no instructions we were stuck. There are however Fire warnings and escape route notices throughout the house which I didn't know whether to take as reassuring or concerning. There are fabulous walks both down to the lake and also up to Orrest Head which we did find. This is hard to describe, but for us it was not a comfortable nor welcoming cottage. The sofa's are huge but you can't sit comfortably on them, Dining area cramped and again seats just not comfortable. Visitors should note one double is in the loft space and the door height is about four foot with a slope at the door top be prepared for bumped heads and shoulders. If you have a big car reversing into the car parking space is a challenge.
