The Arthur Suite Stone Cross Mansion

The Arthur Suite on the top floor was lovely, warm and easily accessible via lift or stairs.

Stone Cross Mansion was lovely, warm and very well maintained inside & out. It was nicely decorated for Christmas in the public areas, just wonderful to see & put you in the Christmas mood! The Welcome pack of champers, biscuits, tea, hot choc & coffee was good; in fact the 1st thing we did was put the kettle on after unpacking! All in all a lovely place to stay in a period property which has been renovated to a very high standard has lovely staff on site or easily contactable. The only negative was the vacuum cleaner, it lasted about 10 mins & took hours to recharge so would be difficult to clean up on the day you leave (good job we found this out a few days before we left so we're able to clean as we needed!)

Whole stay was delightful including person in office the location was perfect the apartment was very very good the only suggestion would be some mould remover in en-suite shower otherwise couldn’t fault it Thank-you we would definitely stay again and tell our friends about it

This is by far one of the best place we have stayed so far.

The apartment is beautifully decorated and modern, clean and safe. The grounds are very well maintained and has lots of games to play. They even have board games for rainy days. This is not too far from other attractions in Lake District making it a great place to stay. I would recommend and will definitely be coming back if I am back in Lake District.

We have just spent a week at Stone Cross Mansion and we were very impressed with the cleanliness's and the friendly staff.

The apartment was very well equipped (every thing you need to prepare a meal). I would fully recommend a stay there and would be happy to return again in the future.

e. if someone stays a week it will be different someone stays 3 days. If one family takes alot of apts say three or four then offer discounts. We plan to come next year and take all units as we really like the place and would like to come back.

Absolutely lovely apartment.

Scrupulously clean which my wife is paranoid about, fresh and airy, plenty of wardrobe and storage space, massive living room. Had to query something minor and unlike many other places Mike answered the phone immediately, answered the query, offered to pop in next day if we wanted and followed up with a text the next day anyway to check we were happy. The bench just inside the door to get shoes on and off is also a nice touch. Stonecross mansion itself is beautiful. You can see that a massive amount of care was taken when it was redeveloped which looks like it was done yesterday not 6 years ago. I think it helps that they seem to have staff on site 9-5 7 days a week. They certainly pay attention. The night we arrived there was a horrendous storm and I heard a tree come down about 0530 but went back to bed when I saw it hadn’t hit anything. The management company had tree surgeons there by 0800 to cut it up and get it out of the way. Grounds are fab with a little putting practice area, swingball etc. and plenty of seating. Having the M&S food and Aldi at the bottom of the drive makes a massive difference and you can be virtuous and walk it or toddle into the smaller supermarkets like Tesco Extra in Ulverston which are about ten minutes walk. I am docking 1 mark for no reading lights in 2 of the bedrooms, the microwave being a bit of a faff to use since it also doubles as a normal oven, and not all instruction booklets for washer/dryer available however. Very minor stuff indeed though. And that being said will definitely be returning at some point.

Second time staying at Stonecross.

Beautiful building with high quality fittings and furnishings. Lovely grounds and nice and quiet yet within walking distance of Ulverston town and opposite side if A590 an Aldi, M+S , Greggs and Starbucks.

Absolutely stunning building and of course apartment, we stayed in the Arthur apartment 4 adults and it was perfect, everything is spotless and f the highest standard 10 stars from us.

The Stone Mansion was one of the best holiday homes we have stayed in and is well worth the 5 stars I gave it.

The apartment was clean and big enough for a family of 5. It had everything needed for a family with young adults. The main hall was beautiful. I really liked looking at the architecture. There were lots of things to do like table tennis, mini-golf and pool. The grounds were beautiful and we enjoyed sitting & walking outside. The location was also great. The Lake District was only 20 minutes away. I would totally recommend the property.

We had a brilliant 2 night stay in the Arthur Suite just before Christmas.

The building was dressed beautifully for Christmas upon arrival and the warm welcome from Keith was so lovely. The team here have thought of everything, a well equipped kitchen and utility room made the apartment feel like home. The apartment was even bigger than it appeared in the photos which was a lovely surprise. We had a wonderful stay and have recommended it widely already. We look forward to returning soon.

What a fabulous time we had at Stone Cross Mansion!

The Arthur Suite was immaculate and had all the amenities we needed, but it was the mansion itself that blew us away! The building itself is absolutely stunning; the pictures do not do it justice! It is our new favourite place and we cannot wait to return!

"A stunning property" After a very long drive from Poole, we were blown away by the first glimpse of the property as we drove up the long driveway.

This made that long drive seem not so bad. After entering the property, which was seamless, we were greeted to an amazing suite. The Arthur Suite was fantastic, our Children quickly chose their rooms and we settled in really easily. A wonderful welcome pack greeted us in the kitchen and we took a few minutes looking at the other rooms in the suite. We were more than impressed with the quality of everything we had for our stay. We made use of the games outside and inside, which included a pool table. We also made use of the board games on offer. We had a lovely stay Arthur suite.

Everything was facilitated for that we needed. And excellent residence for our family.

Gorgeous apartment and wonderful setting, we also loved the location.

Only 3 problems was that one of the bedrooms (master en suite) had insufficient window coverage and we were woken at 3am every day with the light coming in so we left 3 days early which is a shame, but we were exhausted from lack of sleep. Additionally all the beds need toppers as they were very hard and gave us back ache, the master bedroom had USB sockets everywhere except next to one side of the bed, sorry!

Stone Cross Mansion is a gem of a development - unbelievable apartments with all the amenities and exceptionally well presented.

Arthur Suite is a large yet cost apartment in this building which is historical and beautiful. A must stay.

Wonderful place to stay.

The apartment is so clean, spacious and quiet, yet in easy walking distance from the centre of Ulverston. The grounds are lovely and lots of games for children. There is absolutely no fault to find and so much to enjoy. A lovely place to stay.

Good location for South Lakes. Quiet, green location but just 5 minutes walk from Ulverston's shops and museums.

Just returned from staying in the The Arthur Suite and can honestly say it was the best accommodation we have stayed in.

It felt so much bigger than it looked from the pictures, everyone had their own space. The furnishings were of a very high standard, it was spotlessly clean and looked brand new. The bedrooms had lots of storage and the beds were really comfortable. The apartment has everything you could possible need, the tea, coffee, milk and water were really useful until we could go shopping, and there were cloths, washing up liquid, laundry detergent, dishwashing tablets and shampoo and conditioner. Kids and even my teenage daughters will love spending time downstairs as it’s so pretty and there is a pool table, table football and lots of games to keep entertained. I really hope we will be able to visit again

It felt very luxurious. The apartment was spacious and had everything I needed. It was conveniently located to shopping and town. I would definitely stay again.

Couldn't fault this clean, modern apartment with everything necessary for a very comfortable stay. Magnificent old building well maintained and sympathetically restored especially in the communal areas. Would not hesitate to recommend or stay again.

This suite was spacious and fully kitted out for everything you need for a holiday in the lakes.

The team were very responsive to all the queries I had including an out of working hours telephone call (out of hours networking issues with WIFI which were promptly resolved).

Absolutely gorgeous property, high spec furnishings, really good layout.

Nicely situated a short wall from Ulverston with good restaurants, tea rooms and interesting shops. We had a small issue with the dishwasher and Mike came to help very quickly, he was friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We were a party of 5 adults, the Arthur Suite was plenty big enough. Nice to touch to have access to board games and badminton.

We had a comfortable stay however, on arrival the lift wasn’t working.

Our suite was on the second floor, travelling with a baby and children meant all luggage, pram etc had to be carried two flights of stairs. On two evenings the internet wasn’t working. Also, please inform on booking that the key collection is from the keypad next to the suite door.

What a fabulous place to stay - a real home away from home.

Everything was immaculate and had been very carefully considered. Far exceeded our expectations. And the help from Mike was invaluable - nothing was too much trouble. Loved it so much I have made another booking today after being home for only a few hours! Can't wait to come back. Patsie

The apartment is amazing fitted out to the highest standard and comfort, fully equipped with all the latest high quality appliances.

Nothing was omitted, the kitchen is exceptional and the lounge large and very comfortable including assorted games and a Bluetooth speaker. The bedrooms are all good sized and well fitted out. Any requests were no trouble at all. The whole property is set in a lovely location and the town centre and shops are very close. It surpassed our expectations and we will definitely be returning.
