What guests are saying
Our second stay at this property did not disappoint.
We love the location, sat within the talkin tarn - immaculate gardens and peace all around. The cottage is so comfortable and relaxing with everything we needed. We hope to return next year.
This was another excellent stay and I would highly recommend Tarn cottage to anyone who is looking for a peaceful retreat with scenic views and walks.
Also everything you need apart from an air fryer is supplied. It is also close to Brampton, Carlisle and Gretna for shopping experiences and about a 50 mile drive to Newcastle Metro Centre, along with many other interesting places to visit. One minor grumble, the house was quite cold when we arrived and with the underfloor heating and no heating upstairs working, it took quite some time for the downstairs area to feal comfortable while the cool bedrooms and bathrooms for our weeks stay were acceptable. Good idea would be to have the heating turned on a couple of hours before arrival, especially as it is now starting to get a little chillier.
From seeing this property on the Sykes advert it was a wow!
From entering the property it was a wow! Then you look out of the windows and doors and it was such an idyllic beautiful sight. Beautiful gardens and a magnificent view of the Tarn including being able to walk around the Tarn from the door. We had a birds eye view of all of the birds ducks and boating activity on the Tarn and were impressed on how clean and litter free the area was given how busy it was with walkers etc and it also having a cafe too. Thank you to the owners for providing and sharing this wonderful property we really did appreciate being able to stay there. Definitely would highly recommend to others and hopefully would like to return in the future. We have stayed in some beautiful properties over the years but this one has topped the bill . Thanks also to Sykes for again great service Elaine and Alan
