  • "A very comfortable and delightful cottage situated in a very peaceful and convenient location."

Highly recommended and we will return. The only slight problem we had was that the WiFi signal was weak, consequently, when watching streamed TV in the evenings, the programme “buffered”. (Frustrating but not life threatening!!) However, this traditional cottage created from an old stone barn to a very high standard is a great location for exploring the Yorkshire Dales . Highly recommended.

  • "We've had a fabulous week at Foxstones."

The cottage is spotless, beautifully appointed and in a fantastic location for days out, walks and sightseeing. It's rural but a very short drive to the main road to get you all over the place. We loved hearing the sheep and cows with our morning cuppa, and ending the day with a glass of wine on the patio. The cottage had everything we needed, with a super-comfy bed, a rainfall shower and separate bath, and there's a log burner for the colder months. We're already planning our return trip! Highly recommended. Thank you!

Lovely owners who were helpful but not intrusive. A welcome gift of wine and fresh farm eggs a nice touch. The cottage was a great size for a couple; very roomy bedroom and bathroom and to have a boot room with downstairs loo was a plus. Set in a lovely quiet lane but only a short walk down to the canal. Lovely walk along the canal into Skipton Very easy to reach neighbouring attractions by car. We visited Skipton Castle, Bolton Abbey, Haworth, Grassington and Saltaire. We wouldn"t hesitate to recommend this lovely property.

30 am There were even greater problems from Wednesday onwards when workmen started resurfacing the road outside and there were times we could not even access the parking space outside the cottage and had to leave car by the crossroads. It is now after 5 pm on Thursday and we still cannot access the property by car. A neighbour tells us you were notified of the road works at least two weeks ago. We realise these things happen but would have appreciated prior notification of what to expect!! PS We have enjoyed the facilities of the cottage." The above road works spanned 3 days and I had to approach the workmen on at least 4 occastions to ascertain access arrangements.

Hi, as per the email I sent we apologised for the disruption which was beyond our control as it was done by highways council department. We unfortuatley didn't receive the letter some of our neighbours did and were not aware of the significant impact the resurfacing of the road would have on access. There was no building work going on at the neighbouring property it was painting, decorating and some minor joinery work, none of which we felt would impact on yourselves and we are sorry if it did. The cottage is a delightful converted end barn, which has been renovated to a extremely high standard, with plenty of natural oak around, along with under-floor heating, which was most welcome. Whilst compact [which is part of its charm] there is everything you need, both in terms of kitchen and living facilities. It was so warm this time there was no need for the wood-burning stove, although it does provide that warm glow if needed! Skipton is a few minutes down the road, where supermarkets, cafes, bakeshops, restaurants and much more are available. The other way, in Gargrave, is an excellent fish and chip shop - the Frying Yorkshireman! There are ample hill and canal walks from the cottage, or the car can be taken further afield - Bolton Abbey river walks are around 15 minutes away. Okay to wander, also just loved the tranquillity surrounding the cottage - a very peaceful haven, with the birds singing and twittering, on the quiet country lane.
