We have stayed in this accommodation 3 times now the first time we loved it so much we booked again for the year after in spring again, this year we decided to go in autumn and the cottage is in an amazing spot but we felt it just wasn’t as comfortable the sofas are so old and smelly as is the rug the beds were so uncomfortable and the pillows we feel it needs a little TLC for the amount you pay to stay there which has gone up a fair bit I’m sure the owners could afford to spend a little on some comfort and cleanliness.

There used to be a little welcome pack in the kitchen there was nothing we had to out and buy all our own things which is fair enough but at least keep the prices for staying reasonable. When we leave our beautiful home to go and stay in the Lake District and pay for a cottage we expect the same standards and it’s just not I doubt we will stay there again also the heating is on a locked thermostat and the water was either scalding hot or freezing cold and the taps on the bath don’t allow you to change the temperature for some weird reason.

We've been renting from Sykes for years; in Devon, Wales and The Lakes.

Slater's Rest has been the best so far, a great little cottage, excellent location, a beautiful lawned garden at the front, lovely bathrooms and showers and a fully equipped kitchen - something surprisingly that is very rarely the case.
