Description
The Old Coach House is simply gorgeous. Set in the charming village of Troutbeck with its country pub and village store, this statement property would be hard to beat. The views are breath-taking and the house itself, the epitome of luxury and style.
The ideal place to share a celebration, or simply enjoy a special break, The Old Coach House will wow all your guests. The main entrance hall leads to the first of two reception rooms. Described as the drawing room, with open fire and views of the garden, this a very special place to rest and relax. Moving on to the open plan kitchen and dining room with slate worktops (mined locally from Coniston Old Man), guests are blown away by the feeling of light and space. Cooking is a joy in a setting like this one. French doors lead from the kitchen into the gorgeous garden, revealing mountains and more of the fabulous views. A second reception room can be found on the ground floor, as well as a useful cloakroom with basin and wc.
Upstairs are three splendid double rooms, each with a king size bed, and a spacious twin. The master room comes with luxury en-suite bathroom featuring a romantic double ended bath and bay window…champagne please! One of the king size beds can be made up as two single beds when arranged in advance. There is also a family bathroom, also with a double ended bath, and a wet room with amazing power shower. This floor is also home to the study, a quiet space but still with those spectacular views.
Outside the gardens are a suntrap, the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine or morning coffee. Garden furniture is supplied from Easter to October half term. There is parking for four cars, ideal for when some of your group want to make the short drive to the lively villages of Ambleside or Windermere. The Old Coach House with its secluded location, is a glorious retreat with walks, water sports, restaurants, independent shops, museums, galleries, cruises and cinemas on its doorstop.

What guests are saying
Comfortable and spacious house ideally located to explore the south eastern lakes, with several walks from the house.
More an observation than a complaint: the sofas in the sitting room were not very comfortable.
We absolutely loved this cottage and are already planning on returning next year.
It was really spacious and the garden was a real bonus- the only one thing we really could have done with was an umbrella/parasol or some sort of shaded area for the garden as it was full sun all day (unusual for the Lakes I know
This is a wonderful property and gave us a fantastic family holiday, great bedrooms, although if the twin could have been made into a double that would have been better.
Plenty of space for everybody in a great setting and would consider returning again in the future. Given the size and price of the property only one toilet roll per bathroom, and one dishwasher tablet per day was a little tight, and no welcome pack, I have stayed in smaller and cheaper properties where a small hamper or something to welcome guests makes you feel special provides a connection to the owner and a smile on your face when you arrive, does not cost a lot but shows the owner cares about who is staying in their house.
