Lovely house with a beautiful garden, lots of hidden spaces in the garden which the dog loved exploring.

The tiled entrance just inside the front door was very handy for drying off the dog and lots of space and hooks for wet boots and coats without having to worry about getting water and mud everywhere. Very comfy and cozy house with lots of space and storage and well equipped kitchen that had everything we needed. Even though you are in Windermere the house is tucked away in a quiet peaceful location with a nice walk close by through the woods to the lake which comes out almost opposite the jetty cafe where they serve lovely meals and cakes with great views of the lake. Very central location for exploring the area and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Hope to be back soon.

Enjoyed our stay.

New to travelling with our dog, the property was dog friendly with the hard flooring. Super comfortable beds. Great shower, unsure on using it at first as there was a bucket on the floor in the hall, catching drips. Thinking an issue from somewhere else as ok when shower used. Did ring Skyes to mention a cracked glass along with a dirty inside lounge window(squashed flies) but the automated response wasn't user friendly. The morning chorus of van doors banging from 7:30 to 8:00 woke the dog up and in turn she woke us up. As said in another review, reverse your car up the drive or leave it at the entrance. If your returning to the property in the dark and using the side door, be aware you don't catch the clothes line. The house has presence, quiet spot bar the morning convoy. Called in the Social club over the road. Had a nice afternoon in the marina bar. Raining on return so booked Uber. £5 plus extra £3 for dog.

Brackenthwaite is an absolute gem - located in a quiet street a short walk to Windermere, Bowness, and the lake.

The house is surrounded by a beautiful garden with trees that give shade and privacy. The house itself is gorgeous, with large spacious rooms and comfortable furnishings. There is a selection of maps and books to help plan local walks, and some boardgames. A fast and efficient washing machine and tumble drier were very welcome. The weather was very warm at times during our stay, and the house stayed beautifully cool even on the hottest days. **note for agents, please do not include in review - there were two things that we noticed while staying at Brackenthwaite that you would probably like to know about. Firstly, there appears to be a small leak from the radiator in the master bedroom - the carpet was a little damp near to this. There also appears to be a bee/wasp nest above the bay window in the living room. Neither bothered us at all, just letting you know.***
