Spent 5 days at Little Herdwick with my sister to celebrate my birthday.
What a joy this property is. You’re greeted with a great sense of space and warmth when you walk in. It’s beautifully furnished and presented. It offered everything we needed from facilities, comfort and location. It’s in a great location with bars, shops and small supermarkets just a couple of minutes walk away. The local bus service is also frequent and very reliable. Would love to re-visit this gem of a property.
Dear Kim, we are very pleased to hear that you had a wonderful stay at Little Herdwick to celebrate your birthday. Thank you for your kind feedback. We hope to welcome you back in the future. Andrea and Mark
If I could give 10 out of 5 stars I would.
Absolutely perfect in everyway. You could ask for nothing. It has all been thought of. From the kitchen , washer/drier to a fabulous shower/bath combo, comfy bed and relaxing family area this property is awesome. I would highly recommend and hope to return in 2028 with my family. A credit to the owners and also the person who cleans the property , it was spotless Thankyou for a fantastic stay.
Dear Carmen, that you so much for your very kind feedback. We are very pleased you had a wonderful stay at Little Herdwick. We hope to see you return in the future . Regards Andrea and Mark

Dear Christine , thank you very much for your kind feedback. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay and that Little Herdwick lived up to your expectations. It wound be lovely to welcome you back in the future. Kind regards Andrea and Mark
What a gem of a property!
I've stayed in a few and this one is right up there with the best. A really well stocked kitchen and so nice to have soap and toilet roll, etc! Location was great to get out and about exploring using the buses and we were able to leave the car behind. Parking wasn't an issue thankfully. If I had any negatives, it was only that we didn't find the pillows very comfortable (but I appreciate that is personal taste) and some of the pillow cases were stained a very off-white yellow colour. However, this would not put me off coming back!
Dear Susan Thank you for your kind feedback. We are delighted you had a lovely stay at Little Herdwick and would most certainly love to see you return in the future. Thank you for your comments which are noted and please be assured that we regularly inspect all our furnishings, bedding etc and should anything require replacing we act on it immediately. Thanks again Andrea and Mark

We had a great week in the cottage , very clean & well presented on arrival , comfortable throughout our stay , The second double bedroom is a small double against wall , more difficult for larger & older guests staying , Overall we loved cottage & location is so handy , but on a quiet street .
parking was no problem.
Dear Jane , thank you for your kind feedback. We are very pleased you enjoyed your stay at Little Herdwick and hope to see you return in the future. Regards Andrea & Mark
Little Herdwick exceeded our expectations.
It is a beautifully furnished and welcoming cottage. The welcome pack was such a lovely touch too. The cottage had everything needed for a relaxing holiday and its central location and parking permit a real bonus. I would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it.
Dear Moira , we are delighted you had an enjoyable stay at Little Herdwick… thank you for your kind feedback and we would love to welcome you back in the future. Andrea & Mark
This is a cosy cottage in an excellent location for Windermere [or walking around the area/ down to Bowness].
The parking permit was great and made our stay much easier. Everything was clean and well-maintained and crockery/ cooking items were well-stocked. The main bedroom is a good size - the second double is small but adequate for a few days. I would recommend this property.
Dear Tracey, thank you for your kind feedback Your recommendation is very much appreciated. Regards Andrea and Mark
We had a lovely time on holiday made super special by the lovely cottage, which we choose for our accommodation for the week.
It was clean and comfortable, and we were made to feel at home and very welcome. It is ideally situated in Windermere. Parking was easy. I can highly recommend.
Dear Jane, Thank you for your feedback, we are delighted you had an enjoyable stay. We very much appreciate you taking the trouble to write this review. We look forward to seeing you return in the future. Andrea & Mark
Woweee, Little Herdwick is an amazing property, situated in such an ideal location.
As said previously, it is far from little, offering spacious living. We felt right at home as soon as we walked in. Lovely welcome pack which was such an appreciated bonus. Quality of fixtures & fittings had been well thought out & everywhere smelt positively clean & fresh. For us parking was not a problem, although we were blessed with fantastic weather & barely used the car! Top quality accommodation in a beautiful part of the country. Would highly recommend x.
Dear Claire, thank you for your kind feedback, we are delighted you enjoyed your stay and that the weather was kind to you. It would be lovely to see you return in the future , kindest regards Andrea &Mark
Beautiful house.
Third time staying there and it did not disappoint.
Hi Debbie, we are so pleased to welcome you back to Little Herdwick yet again . It is lovely to see our guests return time after time. It is fantastic that the weather has been so beautiful and we hope that added to your stay… looking forward to see you return in the future . Kind regards Andrea and Mark
We had a brilliant stay at Little Herdwick.
Like many other reviews, it’s worth calling out that there’s nothing little about it! The open plan design works so well, and the house is just great overall with absolutely everything you could want or need. The welcome basket was a real unexpected bonus and the contents were very generous. The property’s location is amazing and meant that we didn’t have to touch the car from the minute we parked it until it was time to leave. Which was our intention and Little Herdwick helped achieve it. The neighbourhood is quiet, yet literally a stone’s through to the very centre of Windermere. We managed to walk to Bowness-on-Windermere in 20 minutes, too. Like so many others we have found a definite favourite in Little Herdwick and are already planning our next trips! Thank you
Dear Luca, We are thrilled you enjoyed your stay at Little Herdwick and thank you very much for your kind review. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Kind regards Andrea & Mark
Amazing cottage equipped with all the comforts one would find at home.
The place is kept spotlessly clean and everything in the house is top notch. No expense was spared. Loved the furnishings and house decor especially the Little Herdwicks
Dear Connie, thank you for your review. We are delighted you had a great time at Little Herdwick. Your kind words are appreciated and we hope to see you return soon. Andrea and Mark

A beautiful home in an amazing location.
The home was beautifully decorated, extremely clean and had everything you could possibly need. The only downside was getting parked at times however this would not stop us returning.
Dear Sarah, Thank you for your kind feedback. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay at Little Herdwick and it would be lovely to see you return in the near future. Kind regards Andrea and Mark
Nothing little about Herdwick!
It's so spacious and thoughtfully decorated. All the liite touches left by the owners were a nice suprise and appreciated. The bed was so comfortable it was hard to get up! We had a few little issues dealt with promptly, even a courtesy call from Mark who takes pride in his home clearly. So well situated literally a few steps away from all windermere has to offer. We will certainly stay again when windermere beckons next time.
Dear Lisa Thank you for your kind feedback, we are delighted you enjoyed your stay. It would be lovely to welcome you back in the future. Kind regards Andrea and Mark
5th time here and never disappoints.
Always look forward to going to Little Herdwick and it now feels like home from home. The welcome pack is full of goodies, which is a really nice touch. Hopefully, we shall return again next year.
Dear Roger, we are delighted to welcome you back to Little Herdwick yet again and very much appreciate your very kind words and continued custom, It is a real honour that you continue to return year on year and we are very pleased that you feel comfortable during your stay to such extent that you feel it to be a home from home . Looking forward to seeing you come back again and as always our sincere appreciation for your support. Kindest regards Andrea and Mark
The property was lovely, as described and very comfortable.
It is tucked away in Windermere so close to everything and a two mins walk from the heart, but away from most traffic. We had a slight hiccup at the beginning and the owner phoned directly to ensure everything went smoothly. We appreciated the call and they are obviously on the ball. Would highly recommend!
Dear Miss Byrnes, thank you very much for your kind feedback. We appreciate your understanding and hope you weren’t inconvenienced too much with the unfortunate issue that arose and was beyond our control. We are delighted you had a nice stay at Little Herdwick and would love to welcome you back in the future. Thanks again Andrea and Mark
We enjoyed our stay thoroughly and would recommend.
The cottage is in a perfect local, just a few minutes walk from Windermere train station and central location in town. Everything was immaculate. The welcome basket was a lovely touch and much appreciated!
Dear Amy, thank you for your very kind feedback. We are delighted you had a nice stay at Little Herdwick and hope to see you return in the future. Kind regards Andrea and Mark
Amazing location, fantastic property that was furnished to a very high standard.
We really enjoyed our time here! We had some troubles with the boiler during our stay, which was sorted within a couple hours! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable base to explore the lakes
Hi Vivie, we are pleased you had a nice stay at Little Herdwick and thank you very much for your feedback. We are glad that we managed to resolve the issue with the boiler quickly for you and it did not impact on your stay, thanks again Andrea and Mark
Little Herdwick is a lovely property.
It was very clean, spacious and comfortable with everything you might need for a great holiday. The bed is one of the most comfortable I have slept in in a holiday home. The 'Box of Treats' was a lovely surprise. Thank you. The location is perfect. We were able to park opposite the property and didn't use the car again until we went home. The bus service around the Lakes is excellent. We will return.
Dear Judith, thank you for your kind review. We are delighted you have an enjoyable time. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Thanks again Andrea and Mark
Lovely comfortable cottage set in the centre of Windermere, nice walk down to Bowness.
Everything we needed, we stayed 2 nights. We had a tiny baby, parents and grandparents, access for pram was easier through backdoor. Welcome pack of drinks and snacks was a nice gesture. We would definitely return.
Dear Shirley, thank you for your kind feedback. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay at little Herdwick. We hope to see you return soon. Andrea & Mark

Absolutely amazing cottage.
Spotlessly clean and gorgeous interior. The welcome box was a lovely touch. Thank you so much. The location was perfect as well. Would definitely come back again.
Dear Mr Drew Thank you very much for your kind feedback. We are delighted you found Little Herdwick‘amazing’ and hope you had a relaxing stay. We look forward to seeing you return in the future. Andrea & Mark
There was nothing wrong with the cottage itself, the location was great, decor was lovely, everything you can think of provided, the welcome basket was a nice touch.
The only thing that spoilt it a bit was the fact there are no curtains or blackout blinds in the bedrooms, which meant you were woken up at the crack of dawn, more so in the front bedroom. We’re not the first to comment on this, it has been mentioned in previous reviews and unfortunately the reason we wouldn’t come again.
lovely cottage perfectly positioned for holiday guests using public transport.
we liked the "uncluttered" feel of the cottage, which makes it easier to keep clean, although a brush to sweep the patio would be useful. We will definitely be booking again.
Hi Susan , thank you for your kind feedback. We are glad you had a nice time and would love to welcome you back in the future…for your information there is a brush in the under stairs cupboard along with a separate dustpan and brush …you presumably didn’t see them, although they are clearly visible.
Beautiful property, as described and right in the heart of Windermere.
We had a lovely stay and would highly recommend. The only thing we would change is that there were no recycling facilities - we ended up taking a large bag of plastic, cardboard etc home with us.
Dear Lucy , thank you for your feedback. We are delighted you had a lovely stay. In respect of recycling…Cumbria Waste who deal with our bin collection recycle all recyclables from the mixed bin… we do not need to have separate recycling bins…. See info from their website.,, Cumbria Waste collect and process recyclable materials in our state of the art processing plants to extract value from recycled materials. We focus on providing sustainable waste management solutions, contributing to a cleaner and greener environment for the communities of Cumbria. Cumbria Waste recycle over 70% of the waste collected. We have noted your comment and will put a note up in Little Herdwick to make it clearer. Thanks again Andrea and Mark.
Lovely house 2 minutes from the shops and restaurants etc.
easy parking right outside the door. Fantastic view of the Lake from Orrest Head. Walks from the door, great week.
Dear Sarah, thank you for your kind feedback. We are delighted you had a great week and that Little Herdwick proved to be an excellent choice for your stay in the wonderful Lake District. We hope to welcome you back in the future. Kind regards Andrea and Mark
Great location, the house was really nice and tidy, the welcome pack was excellent and the information guide was of great value.
All appliances worked well and we had no issues. The fireplace was a, excellent feature as we played board games (There is provided) next to this.
Dear Eugene , thankyou for your kind review. We are very pleased you enjoyed your stay. Regards Andrea & Mark

It was a great location in the centre of town, but on a nice quiet road.
Dear Eleanor, thank you for your kind feedback. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back in the future . Regards Andrea and Mark
This was our second Christmas in your lovely cottage and it did not disappoint.
We looked forward to it all year and had a super week. The balance between traditional and modern within the property is spot on and we love the open plan living- especially on Christmas Day when the children were playing and we were cooking. It’s in a perfect location for walking to nearby Bowness, a short drive to Ambleside and there are some lovely National Trust locations nearby too. We can also recommend the Crafty Baa and Angel Inn for food and drinks and The Magic Wok Chinese take away. Thank you for another fab week! The Myers family
Dear Rebecca, we are thrilled you have enjoyed yet another family Christmas at Little Herdwick. We are very grateful for your kind and very helpful feedback. We love to hear about what you enjoy about the property and are always looking at ways to improve our guest’s experience. Thank you for all your support and we look forward to welcoming you again in the future. Wishing you and you family all the very best for the new year, Andrea and Mark.
Beautiful cottage with everything you need for your stay.
Excellent location. This was our second stay and we will return. Only feedback is that the bedroom blinds are not that effective at blocking light. This may not be an issue for most people and it did not bother us as it was November when we stayed. Little Herdwick is a delightful place to stay and we will return
Dear Janet, lovely to see you return to Little Herdwick and we hope you had a nice stay. It’s a real pleasure to see guests return year after year. We note your comments regarding the bedroom blinds and this is something we have had little concern over , however we do provide complimentary eye masks for anyone who needs them. We will consider curtains when we next refurbish our rooms , but are always mindful to not spoil the contemporary look. We appreciate your feed back. Thanks Andrea & Mark
An absolutely fabulous holiday home!
Cosy, convenient, clean and all needs catered for. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Many thanks

Outstanding!
Beautiful, clean, great location, would book Again in a heartbeat one of the best cottages I have ever stayed in. On arrival we received a wonderful welcome basket filled with snacks, soft drinks, beers and a bottle of Prosecco, there was hand soap at both sinks (great touch), kitchen was supplied with fairy liquid, cloths and tea towel which again is a great touch. The log fire ( logs and kindling supplied) in the living space was wonderful. The decor throughout was stunning and the house was sparkling clean. We loved this cottage thank you.
Dear Lesley, thank you so much for your lovely feedback. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay at little Herdwick. We would be delighted to welcome you back in the future ….. so pleased you had a wonderful stay. Thanks again Andrea and Mark
Lovely property within a great location.
Extremely clean and a lovely touch with the welcome pack provided. To comment on the parking, we only struggled on the day of arrival as we didn’t arrive till 9pm, but found permit parking a short walk round the corner, there is also a big car park a short walk away that does overnight parking for £1. We didn’t struggle the rest of the week at all! We very much enjoyed our stay and hope to return in the future!
Dear Lianne, we are thrilled you enjoyed your stay at Little Herdwick and would be delighted to welcome you back in the future. We note your comments regarding parking and can confirm that it has never been an issue for us in the many years we have owned the property. Your advice on alternative parking is very helpful thankyou. Kind regards Andrea and Mark
Well equipped.
.Like most people and it’s only picky preferences, would like the main room to have curtains/blackout blind. Otherwise thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful house Laraine&Andrew
Dear Laraine, thankyou for your feedback and constructive comments. We welcome all suggestions which are appreciated to help us create a home from home experience. We will give some thought to your comments. Thank you Andrea and Mark

Great location, only 100m from the Main Street and some great restaurants. Great lounge area, kitchen and back yard. Also comfortable beds. Only improvement recommended would be to provide recycling facilities. We will be back!

We didn’t want to go home!
We think that says it all. Absolutely gorgeous cottage; comfortable, well equipped, quality pieces of furniture throughout and lovely finishing touches. The Christmas decorations really made us feel at home. We even booked again for next Christmas!
Dear Rebecca, We are delighted that you had a wonderful Christmas at Little Herdwick. Thank you so much for your lovely review. I must confess when we come up to the property in advance of Christmas to put the decorations up, we too find it hard to leave. It is fantastic that you have booked again for next year and we look forward to welcoming you again. Have a fabulous new year. K
Beautiful cottage with everything you need, definitely one of the best we've ever rented, spotlessly clean, lovely welcome box and so convenient for the town's restaurants and shops.
Only issue was parking when returning in the evening, had to park in town and retrieve before 9:00am but this isn't a criticism of the property, overall a fabulous place to stay and would happily recommend.
Dear Nicholas, thank you for your kind review. We note your comments regarding parking . We have owned the property a number of years now and parking has never been an issue. On the very rare occasion there hasn’t been a space we have utilised the parking in the centre which to be clear gives you until 10.00 am to move your car. One hour limit starts at 09.00. Thanks again and we hope to welcome you back soon. Regards Andrea & Mark
2nd visit to this wonderful cottage.

Dear Roger , lovely to see you return to Little Herdwick for your third time. It’s a real please use to see our guests return time after time .We are very grateful for your feedback and nice comments. Kind regards Andrea and Mark
Firstly, can I say that our holiday was for my husband's 60th birthday and the moment we stepped into Little Herdwick we both just went "WOW".
What an absolutely beautiful and tastefully decorated home. I personally have OCD and I think it's the first holiday home I have been to that has not triggered my OCD, and believe me, that is a major tick in the box. The attention to every little detail throughout the house is exceptional. Everywhere we turned there were little apt references to sheep, which tickled our sense of humour, like the salt and pepper shakers, slate wall plaques in the back garden, little sheep on the beds with "please leave me for the next visitors to enjoy" tags, dangly legged sheep ornaments in the bathroom to name but a few. Every inch of the cottage was spotlessly clean. Every facility and accessory had been carefully thought out. The beds were adorned with lovely cotton bedding and the comfort of the mattresses and pillows had us wakening up feeling totally refreshed. We honestly could not find anything negative that we would pass on to the next visitors. Please pass on to the owners our immense gratitude for letting us stay in their beautiful home. the welcome basket was very much appreciated and we look forward to staying again in the near future.
Fantastic property, beautifully furnished, very comfortable, in a great location near to shops, galleries and some wonderful eateries, particularly the tapas bar, Tapios.
A short walk to the lake area and easy access to other routes. Would highly recommend.
Dear Caroline, thankyou got your feedback. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay at Little Herdwick. Thankyou for your recommendation for Tapios…. We too have eaten there and had a wonderful meal in great surroundings. We hope to welcome you back in the near future.
really terrific cottage, only negative was master bed too small/short and i'm not 6ft.
Other than that, Perfect!
Hi Simon, thank you for your feedback. It’s great you felt Little Herdwick was ‘perfect’. Regarding the bed I appreciate we all sleep in different ways and consequently some people need more room than others. I am 6ft 2” and Andrea is also tall and we are perfectly comfortable when we get the opportunity to stay at Little Herdwick. We appreciate your comments and we will consider upgrading to a king size bed when we come to change it in the future. Hope to see you again soon. Mark & Andrea
We loved our week at little Herdwick.
It’s a great little cottage, beautifully decorated and in a great location! Only a minutes walk to all the shops and cafes in Windermere. It has a good sized living area, good master bedroom and smaller second bedroom. Suited us perfect with two young children. We were able to get a parking space outside the house most days, a few times it was harder to find a space. The only thing missing was a dishwasher. We would definitely recommend this cottage!
Hi Joanne , we are delighted you had a wonderful time at Little Herdwick and thank you for your kind comments. As with all feedback we take on board all our guests comments to help make improvements where necessary. We are grateful for your feedback regarding a dishwasher and it will form part of our considerations in the future should we come to re configure the kitchen. Naturally we are restricted somewhat with the space available, however, never say never. We hope to welcome you back in the future. Regards Andrea & Mark
Great property, great location, clean and comfortable.
A dishwasher at this property really is the only thing missing. It is a super place to stay, will return and would recommend.
Dear Kathleen, we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Little Herdwick and would be delighted to welcome you back again. Thank you for the feedback regarding the dishwasher …. We take note of all our guests comments and we will give it some consideration when we come to refurbish the property further in the future . Thanks again Andrea and Mark
Fantastic cottage, extremely clean!
!!, well located and gorgeously decorated. We entertained ourselves all week with many hypothetical conversations about moving in. Parking is no issue considering it’s a busy holiday village - we stayed over the Jubilee weekend and only had to park on the next street once, at no cost. As a suggestion, curtains in the main bedroom would help with light & road noise. Would 100% recommend.
Dear Chelsea and Ashley we are delighted you enjoyed your stay at Little Herdwick and appreciate your feedback. We love our guests to feel like it’s a real home from home experience which you clearly did given your lovely comment about hypothetically moving in. Thank you for your views about the blinds in the main bedroom , this is something we are considering at the moment, albeit we want to be careful not to spoil the contemporary feel with curtains…. You have given us some food for thought. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future!! Kind regards Andrea & Mark
Little Herdwick is a 1st class holiday home within a 1st class location.
The house was cleaned and furnished to a high standard, this is why I came back for the 2nd time. I'd recommend Little Herdwick to anyone who's wanting to escape to The Lakes... A BIG thank you to Andrea and Mark for the goodies on arrival. Simon & Sarah Wirral.
Dear Simon, so nice to see you return to Little Herdwick, thank you for your review. We love to see guests return and we always take careful note of the feedback we receive. We were pleased to hear you enjoyed your welcome pack, which is a small gesture from us to thank you for your custom and help you settle into your stay. Hopefully see you return again. Best wishes Andrea & Mark

What a fantastic holiday cottage, it had everything that you needed and a little welcoming gift on arrival.
The log fire was great in the evenings to keep us warm and the beds were so comfortable. Only a 2 minute walk from the centre of Windermere and a great location for walking around the surrounding areas. Would recommend this cottage 100% to anyone looking to stay there.
Dear Robert, thank you for your kind feedback . It is nice to hear you had a comfortable stay at Little Herdwick. We were pleased you enjoyed some cosy nights in front of the wood burner and hope to see you again in the future. Kind regards Andrea and Mark

We value your feedback very much and are grateful for your kind recommendation. Hope to welcome you again in the future. All the best Andrea & Mark
The property was is fabulous and we loved our stay at little Herdwick, everything about the property was great even the location in the centre of Windermere.
The only downside to our holiday was Sykes, the PERSISTANT bombardment of emails and texts from the time we booked to the time we left the property was incredible and could of ruined our holiday had we taken notice of them.....I will never use Sykes to book another holiday cottage..
Dear Simon, thank you for your feedback. We are unaware of the contact Sykes have with our guests and during their stays and we can’t really comment in that regard. However we note you enjoyed our property and we you had a comfortable and enjoyable stay which is what we like to hear . Regards Andrea and Mark
What a beautiful cottage, it was spotless.
The cottage is tastefully decorated and modern yet still has the countryside charm. Every little detail has been thought of, we could have moved in! It was lovely and warm even without the Log Burner. 2 min walk to the shops and the centre of Windermere, perfect location. This cottage has been so well looked after and clearly loved, we would love to stay again, Thank you Mr and Mrs Flynn

we have just arrived back home after our stay at herdwick, we had an amazing 5 days here a home from home, close facilities everything you need, no need for a car which we didn't have, lovely lake cruise near by.
the wood burner stove was the bit that made the cottage, i would love to come back here again. the little details made it and touches were well thought out. and much appreciated.
We are very pleased you enjoyed your stay at Little Herdwick and thank you for your kind comments. We would be delighted to see you return in the future. Andrea & Mark
Excellent stay will definitely be back!
!!

Brilliant cottage !
Excellent facilities and lovely wood burner, location in the centre of Windermere is great for exploring the lakes !
Hi Joanne, great to hear you had a wonderful stay. We hope to welcome you back on the near future. Andrea and Mark
Second visit to this cottage.
It is well maintained, comfortable and near to all amenities in Windermere. Definitely return.
Hi Roger, lovely to see you have returned to Little Herdwick. Thanks for the feedback. Hopefully see you return again soon. Andrea & Mark
Little Herdwick is a beautiful holiday cottage.
The location is perfect. The property is beautifully decorated and everything in it was very tasteful. We’d definitely recommend the property to our friends and family as a perfect place to stay. Our only negative observation (not criticism) is the bathroom. We felt it would benefit from removing the bath and installing a walk in shower along the back wall after relocating the towel rail. That done the bathroom would have more room in which to move the washbasin and toilet. The toilet seat didn’t fit and the space was a tad on the tight side for comfort.
Beautiful cottage, very well equipped for a comfortable home from home stay
Cottage was beautiful - had everything we needed and really clean when we arrived!
Location was good too - very central to Windermere - would love to return sometime!
Thanks for a fantastic time.
Pick up of keys and parking permit was very straightforward. The cottage was well equipped and beautifully clean. Beds super comfy! Only feedback would be it would be good if there was information on recycling as only seemed to be domestic waste.
It was great ,after lockdown.
to have a change of scenery in the comfort of Little Herdwick Cottage in our favourite part of the world.
This is a fantastic house.
Clean and modern. The only thing I would change is to put a blackout blind on the front bedroom window. As soon as the sun came up we couldn't sleep which made for.a.tiring holiday.
Beware of Borris making another announcement the day after you arrive
great property to stay in, everything you need is there and ideally located
Probably the "Best" property (in its price range/location), we have stayed in at The Lakes over the last decade!
5* Accommodation with central location to Windermere. A Very clean and comfortable home with a nice welcome pack to help settle straight in. We could have stayed and made it a second home as it felt like a "Home from Home". Looking to book again at "least once" in 2021. We would Highly recommend a stay, "but won"t as it might book out" (spoken about this little gem to family & friends who would also like this).
The cottage is in an excellent location.
Literally in the centre, next to local shops and restaurants and about a mile walk into Bowness on Windermere. The cottage itself is lovely with all the facilities you will need, including a washer and dryer. Only mishap we had was that it hadn't been cleaned but this was sorted with half an hour of reporting it to the office. Something to do with their systems. Would highly recommend.
Thank you for your feedback. We are very happy you enjoyed the cottage and would recommend it. We apologise that there was a delay in the cleaning, and glad this did not impact your stay. We hope to welcome you back to Little Herdwick in the future.
The cottage was really lovely and everything we hoped it would be.
Our only negative feedback would be the lack of onsite parking. We understood that this was difficult due to the location, but nevertheless, it made our holiday slightly more difficult than it otherwise would have been.
The Little Herdwick is a beautiful property and is in the most fantastic location.
The property is spacious and well equipped with everything that you could possibly need to have an enjoyable holiday. We have stayed in several properties over the years but we by far, felt the most relaxed at Little Herdwick - so much so, that before we left we even discussed the possibility of rebooking it for next year!
A very comfortable, spacious and pleasant cottage, clean, tidy and well equipped and close to the town centre.
The only drawback was the parking but that's Windermeres problem NOT the cottage.
A superb property that exceeded all expectations, extremely well equipped and the owners have clearly taken a great deal of pride in all of the meaningful touches they have made to the property.
Perfectly situated for exploring the town and the Southern Lakes and I will definitely be returning.
The property was more than what we expected.
Pictures did not do it justice. Modern, contemporary, very clean and welcoming with all that you need. Will definitely stay again
Had a lovely stay at Little Herdwick.
Beautifully decorated and a minutes walk to the shops and restaurants. Lots of nice little touches with the sheep theme and the fire made it very cozy. Will definitely come back.
We have stayed in a lot of places in The Lakes and this is by far the nicest, and we will definitely stay again.
Fabulous!
Probably one of the best houses I have stayed in over the last 15 years! Spotless, beautiful decor and everything you would want it to be 'home from home'. Beds are very comfy, duvet and pillows lovely! Thank you and well done!
