  • "Lovely lodge really enjoyed our stay , we have already booked for next year on our return home."

    only couple of minor things , hoover didn't work well , no tea towels (normally supplied with towels ,could have brought some from home if known) had to go buy some. no chopping board or baking tray in the kitchen which made cooking slow for the family , hopefully better equipped for our next stay, overall great holiday. Thank you.

  • "I have mixed feelings about Tranquil Waters."

    First impressions were not good, unlike the lodges around it, Tranquil Waters had cobwebs everywhere, on the steps, railings, walls, which were particularly bad, and under the eaves. The outdoor furniture had splits in it and moss growing on the chairs. The glass on the folding doors was smudged and smeared and looked as if it hasn't been cleaned for quite a while. The inside was much better, clean, tidy and welcoming. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped, although it was lacking a chopping board. The oven, as mentioned in previous reviews, didn't have oven trays, although there was a small grill pan which must have belonged to a much smaller oven at some stage. Having said all that, we enjoyed our first visit to the Lake District and our stay at Tranquil Waters, with it's wonderful view. I feel the first impressions let the lodge down as it looks neglected and uncared for, and in need of some refurbishment.

  • "A fabulous stay right on the lake for our family of 4 and niece."

    We love white cross bay and tranquil waters made our stay all that more special with the bifold doors and the view out on the the lake. The lodge was absolutely spotless for our arrival and having 5 paddle boards was no issue due to the size of the outside deck area. We had everything we needed for The perfect week to start the summer holidays.

  • "What a great property."

    Tranquil Waters has a fantastic view of the lake yet remains private as it cant be easily seen from the marina so it's perfect. We were there during the heatwave and the huge acorn tree provided much needed shade so we spent hours on the decking looking at that fantastic view. Really clean and so well equipped. My only suggestion would be a visitor information pack as we had to find out where the bins were etc. No issue just would have made it a bit easier to know where things were located. Also we were trying to find cushions for the outside chairs/loungers as they were a bit uncomfortable without them but we couldn't find them. We assumed they were in the store on the decking area however there was no key for the box.

  • "A wonderful family stay that more than lived up to its name."

    Tranquil Waters is brilliantly located for exploring Windermere and the wider Lake District, with everything you need close at hand while still feeling peaceful and removed from the crowds. The property itself is cosy and immediately welcoming - the kind of place where you settle in within minutes. It's well-equipped throughout and the standard of accommodation is high. Nothing felt tired or overlooked. The showers were excellent, and on the warm sunny days we enjoyed, the doors opening directly onto the decking were a real highlight — a lovely touch that made the most of the setting. A couple of minor points worth noting for the owners: the double socket in the single bedroom appeared faulty - it produced an odd smell when in use, so we stopped using it and would recommend it's checked and replaced as a precaution. The TV remote was also a little sluggish, possibly just in need of new batteries. One small note on the layout: the en suite is on the narrow side, though the showers themselves were great. None of these detracted significantly from what was a brilliant stay. We'd return without hesitation and would recommend Tranquil Waters to anyone looking for a quality family base in the Lake District.

  • "Great location, very comfortable and well equipped."

    Really clean lovely property.We needed to call maintenance as we had an issue with heating/hot water they arrived quickly and sorted it out,. We would definitely stay there again. Just a couple of minor issues - front door handle lock quite hard to open/lock, bathroom door lock very hard to lock and the en suite bathroom shower very hard to turn to cool down. Overall we had a lovely holiday.

  • "Not enough basic kitchen gadgets and cutlery."

    The access door is really tight to open. The bedroom with twin beds is very tight

  • "We absolutely loved our stay at Tranquil waters and hope to be back in the future."

    It was a real home from home. Location by the lake was wonderful and we captured some beautiful sunsets. It was a perfect base for us when we were attending a wedding locally. We didn't use the onsite facilities but they looked good. We were surprised at how large the kitchen was which was such a bonus as we love cooking. We even cooked a roast dinner! There was nothing to note that was negative but we do want to bring up a few things for the owner to consider adding to the kitchen utensils. One shelf in the oven was not enough when wanting to use it for cooking multiple items for example we struggled to cook more than one pizza at a time. A pair of scissors would have been helpful along with a cullender to drain pasta or potatoes. My mother was desperate to have a bath but the water was Luke warm and we couldn't get it very hot at all. Luckily the showers were a good temperature. Hooks on the back of doors to hang dressing gowns/coats would also have been useful. All in all we had lovely stay and would recommend this property to others.

  • "This place exceeded our expectations."

    The lodge is in a great location with incredible views of the lake and scenery that can be viewed from a large decking area. The actual lodge itself was spotless, the sofa was so comfy and the kitchen was well equipped. It is also decorated to a high standard with lovely soft furnishings. We would love to come back!

  • "Great position and a huge decking."

    The lodge was very clean, the only down side was the settee, which does need replacing rather than a seat support placing under the cushions. The decking needed a good clean, but there are brushes in the lodge, and a bit of exercise lather it was all cleaned. (Due to the Oak tree above the decking, so cant be avoided). Recommend mentioning the coffee machine is Tassimo so people can bring the pods. Also some decking lighting might be useful.. There is one outside light. Overall for the price, was a great weekend at the Lodge, thanks.

Tranquil waters lodge, being in a beautiful spot so close to the lake, surrounding by the woodland unfortunately in the autumn it’s unavoidable that fall of leaves on to the decking will happen, but this does add to its charm with its beautiful oak tree. It appears the sofa bed you took to be seated on, of the two differing sofas plus arm chair, unfortunately hadn’t been put back correctly by the previous guest so we do apologies. We have now made note of this to ‘lakeside lovers’ who manage the lodge and have instructed that the cleaners check that the sofa bed is put back securely after each rental. We have also installed additional lighting onto the decking in the form of festival lighting. We were so pleased to hear how much you had enjoyed your time at our lodge and you’re right for proximity to the lake, the quality of the property and it’s setting the price is exceptional. Tranquil Waters is a charming lodge with serene lake views, situated on White Cross Bay Holiday Park.

This property rests within the Lake District National Park, near to the village of Troutbeck Bridge in Cumbria.

With off-road parking for two cars, this delightful retreat is perfect for families or friends seeking a lakeland escape amidst nature's splendour.

Upon entering this single-storey abode, be delighted by the generous wraparound veranda, where you can enjoy your morning coffee or dine alfresco on warmer days; the perfect spot to relax and soak up the picture-postcard views of the lake.

Enter into the open-plan living area, a real social hub of the property, where you can unwind on the plush seating in front of the Smart TV and electric fire, creating a warm atmosphere for those chillier evenings.

The designated chef of the group will be delighted with the well-equipped kitchen, offering everything needed to prepare delicious meals that can be enjoyed at the dining table.

When the day draws to a close, retire to one of the three inviting bedrooms.

The master bedroom boasts a king-size bed, ample storage for your personal belongings, a TV for those lazy mornings in bed, and the added benefit of an en-suite walk-in shower room, so you can get ready for the day in style.

The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Children will enjoy a trip to the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness whilst the villages of Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains are all within easy reach.

Park Rules and Operations – White Cross Bay

White Cross Bay has its own onsite facilities. You will need to purchase a complex pass from reception which includes the use of the pool, entertainment and access to bar and restaurant. The prices are subject to change by park management.

All holiday parks are owned and managed by a separate company to ourselves. Lake District Lodge Holidays has no association with the owners of these parks or responsibility for the provision of services they offer. At certain times of year, there maybe a reduction in those services, which is outside of our control.

Commercial vehicles, caravans, camper vans, Hen or Stag parties are not permitted onsite. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times and are not be left alone in the lodges at any point during your stay.

You will be staying on an operational holiday park, which means work may be undertaken from time to time by the park owners during your stay. Although Lake District Lodge Holidays will always try to inform guests in advance if something may impact on a stay and if we have prior knowledge. We cannot be held responsible or accept any liability for park operations of which are outside of our control and which we have no knowledge of.
