2 Ings Avenue

We had a very comfortable stay as a family of 5 and 2 small dogs, my son loved the games room in garage we spent many hours having pool and table tennis tournaments.

Beds were comfortable, kitchen well equipped, although we didn’t cook much. A very quiet area was surprised how quiet the road was at night. Welcome basket much appreciated. Would definitely stay again if coming back to the area. Some lovely walks nearby and was nice to be there for the flowerpot festival in settle.

Overall this property location perfect for me as trail runner , games run for evening fun for kids then comfortable lounge diner , all you need in kitchen if you fancy whipping up a tasty meal .

Bedrooms and beds no complaint slept super well. Bathroom good but one thing maybe change the shower head as it can be adjusted but standard shower option pressure was low so was not coming out well and the other options was jet too powerful and concentrated or mist but tbh it didn’t put damper on holiday at all and wasn’t that bad to get adjusted. Overall 4/5 very good property

We all had such a wonderful 2 night stay.

Ruth was so friendly on the phone and we really appreciated the welcome box of goodies after such a long drive. Everything was spotless and well-maintained. The only two - very minor! - suggestions would be to perhaps have thicker curtains in the two top bedrooms facing the road as it was so bright in the mornings which woke us up..and to perhaps have a coat hook somewhere downstairs for all our coats! But other than those two tiny things it was a perfect haven - and somewhere we would love to book again next year. Thank you so much!

The Property was clean and tidy.

Slight problem with heating and tv when we arrived but Ruth sorted it after one phone call. Bed was comfortable. We had a good week there weather average. Some rain and a place to hang wet coats would be helpful in the house. There is a games room but we did not use it but it could be handy if the weather was bad. 10 minutes from town and railway station. Plenty of places to eat and drink in Settle. Dog friendly in most places. We had an enjoyable time there and can recommend it.

2 Ings Avenue is a great place to stay.

Comfortable beds and very clean. The owners were quick to respond to a minor issue and it was good to meet them. The games room is a real plus especially if you have older children. To make it extra special coat hooks downstairs would be good. Otherwise it was perfect and we would go again a 1st class holiday home. Ron,Jane and Laura.

Good, very functional, easy-clean accommodation in an excellent location to enjoy the Dales.

Great games room for rainy days. Plenty of parking. The nearby railway does not adversely affect noise levels and road noise is a little evident with quarry lorries in the morning but not a major disturbance. It is a suburban location but countryside is very near. We will be happy to rebook.

Nicely positioned, not right in the hustle and bustle of the town but a very easy 10 minute walk to get to. A warm and comfortable property. Didn't use the games room but there was plenty of comments from other people who thought it was great. Definitely would stay there again. Thank you.

We stayed at the property for a week over Christmas and absolutely loved it.

From the second we arrived it really felt like a home. The house felt cosy and had everything you could possibly need. The beds were all very comfortable and the new recliner sofas was much loved after a long day exploring the surrounding countryside. The enclosed garden was perfect for keeping our dog safe whilst outside and the games room was a massive hit with the not only the children but with the adults to. With the village only a 5 minute walk away its perfect if you want a stroll to one of the local pubs, eateries or shops. We would definitely recommend to others and cannot wait to return.

Our second visit.

We wouldn’t return if we didn’t like it. Loved the welcome pack and Bran, our dog, loved his treats. Not the most perfect of weather for the week but not unexpected for the time of year. Had a wonderful time revisiting our favourite walks and returning to a comfy and warm cottage. No doubt we’ll be back. Many thanks to Ruth, the owner, for her hospitality. Great new dining chairs!

We love this area so this property was a gem of a find, right on the edge of Settle.

Easy access to the station for the Settle Carlisle line. Booths supermarket nearby with fresh fish and meat counters. Ruth is a lovely host and we were greeted with a lovely welcome basket of goodies including some dog treats beautifully wrapped. The house is very clean and comfortable, tastefully modernised, very well equipped. Cosy with double glazing, central heating and instant hot water. Took the advice of a previous review and had blankets for the leather sofas, which by the way are recliners. The mattresses are super comfy. Agree the dining chairs are a bit low for the table. The patio and stone area is enclosed, the grass area not. Wasn't a problem for our small dog. The house is situated on the main road into Settle, we didn't find it overly busy, it has a long front garden so the traffic didn't bother us. Also the back garden is long and then the railway line passes behind on an embankment. We didn't find the trains intrusive either. We would certainly stay again if coming to this part of Yorkshire.

Fantastic house with everything you need.

Clean and tidy. Location is great for the town and walking from the door out in to the beautiful countryside. We booked to go again as soon as we got home. Great base for us as we’re hoping to relocate to Settle and are looking for houses in the town.

2 Ings Avenue in Settle suited our needs as being within walking distance to the Railway Stn for the Settle to Carlisle Rail journey - a box now ticked and well worth doing.

It also suited the two of us, but was glad we didn't invite others to fill the space as the lounge space is not really big enough for the full quota of five persons catered for, especially during the darker months or rainy evenings as only the larger sofa can be used to see the TV in full. The leather Sofas are not overly comfortable but ok for just a week, but the Dining Chairs are not fit for purpose - seat pads have sunk beyond use - so we ate our meals sat on the sofa instead. The double bedrooms upstairs are a good size and sleep quality was good, the single bedroom does not have storage (ok if like us you do not use the storage anyway). Cushions would be boost to comfort for the sofas and the beds - we used the pillows from unused beds and two cushions I always take with me from the car. Parking is excellent, but Garden is not fenced in at all so not suitable for dogs and small children, especially being on a very busy main road. No experience of the Play Room so cannot comment on that but looks on the website. Generally we agreed this property was good value for the money we paid for an off peak week. Welcome Pack is provided which is always accepted with thanks and appreciation.

The property is ideally located close to Settle town centre and has great games room in the garage but the actual house is in need of modification.

Not just painting over existing wall paper and has cracks down most walls and bulging paper where there has obviously been a leak. Enjoyable stay

The house was very clean but a little tired.

The beds are very comfortable and the house is well equipped. The owner is very helpful and leaves a nice welcome pack.The games room is excellent. The garden could do with been a bit more secure and the road is very noisy. The local pubs are very nice and some great walks on your doorstep.

In a good position for some nice walks from the doorstep and only 10 min drive to Malham cove.

Property was much smaller than we imagined.

The wallpaper etc and bathroom were dated with wallpaper hanging off the walls and bubbling up. The playroom was great but when it rained water came inside. The kitchen facilities and washing machine and central heating were great. The television and netflix erc was great. The neighbors on one side were horrible. We parked on OUR driveway correctly IN FRONT. Of the house and a very ANGRY neighbour told us we had parked wrong and he could not get his car put. The neighbour has made a sort of “parking lot” and needs to reverse or drive over “our” driveway to get out. The owner is amazing and nothing is too much trouble!

Lovely cottage on the outskirts of Settle.

It was very clean and had everything you could think of, from cleaning products to basic food stuffs. The lovely welcome pack was an added bonus. We would definitely return if we were in the area. We didn’t use the games room so unable to comment on that. Overall 10/10. Thanks for having us.

2. Although we’ve stayed in the area before, this was our first time in Settle. We initially booked to go to two musical events at Victoria Hall (both of which were sold out). The rest of the week was spent walking with a single trip on the Settle-Carlisle line. The cottage was very welcoming and the goodies provided were a bonus. The only downside? Not all of the garden was enclosed so needed to put Bran on a lead if he needed to go on the grass.

Really, clean & comfortable property.

Added bonus of a games room. All facilities you would need in cottage, lovely touch of a welcome pack was a nice surprise. Location is a 10 minute walk into the quirky centre where you find some nice pubs & chip shop. Supermarket is a 10 minute walk also, all in all just what you need for a few days to recharge the batteries.

Walking distance to train station for Settle to Carlisle line. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed for a lovely holiday. Pool table in garage a extra bonus.

Kitchen is well-equipped, beds are comfy and shower was decent. Lots of thoughtful extras too. Handy for walking into Settle or for easy access to rest of the Yorkshire Dales by car.

A great house for families to stay. A wonderful location for the Dales and South lakes. We visited my son at Bowness, just a 50 minute drive away. We've visited Settle 8 times and are still bowled over by it's beauty. Would definitely recommend.

A lovely 'home from home'.

It was welcoming and warm when we got there and the basket of treats was a lovely addition. Even more amazing was the milk in the fridge and teabags in the kitchen ready to go! That was a kind, thoughtful gesture. Beds were comfy and house was clean and tidy overall. We would be happy to stay here again. It made a lovely base for us to explore the surrounding areas.

Overall the property was comfortable and well decorated.

It was lovely and warm, especially in the lounge/dining room. The kitchen was well appointed but, being an extension, was always cooler. But the weather was also very cold during our stay. The bathroom was disappointing and needs a total makeover but it was adequate for our needs. The lighting on the top landing of the stairs could be brighter as that area was quite dark even with the light on. Unfortunately we had to cut our stay short due to family illness but we enjoyed our visit. The house being so close to Settle was a bonus.

The property is ideally situated on the outskirts of Settle, with only a short walk into the centre, or to the river walk.

Probably one of the cleanest we’ve stayed in. A lovely welcome pack left for us which even included some treats for our dog. Plenty of parking space and a lovely garden to sit in. Even a games room in the garage with a pool table and table tennis.Good for families and just a short walk into the lovely town of Settle. Would love to stay here again.

Had a thoroughly enjoyable stay here with a short walk to the well catered village centre.

Pool table much better than picture gives credit and used a lot by us. Comfortable and quiet, all we need. Oh and the location is perfect for access to the Dales, a wonderful area.

Lovely house in Settle which is a good base for hiking in the Yorkshire Dales.

The house was very comfortable and clean. I would stay there again. And it was nice of the hosts to provide us with a complimentary welcome pack.

Property is a little “tired “ in places, wall paper coming off walls due to damp.

We had the smaller room with two single beds and the door does not latch closed. Had issues with the hob, would only heat one ring at a time. Lack of head room in the games room, both my son and myself are over 6ft tall so had to be extremely careful. Pool table is excellent, table tennis table not so. All that said, Settle and the surrounding area is beautiful and we had a fantastic week (helped by excellent weather). Would definitely visit Settle again.

2 Ings Avenue was lovely and cosy, master bedroom bed was very comfortable, only used one other single bed for my son who only stayed one night.

The sofa's, unfortunately were a little bit low and too soft for me. The weather was not kind to my puppy and me so long walks were out and he didn't really settle in the house, for some reason he took an instant dislike to the black bin in the kitchen and refused to go in there for most of the week, even for food, which was hilarious! The welcome pack was brilliant and after unloading the car and unpacking was soon opened!

A great property in an excellent location with plenty of parking, a garden to sit in, an excellent games room and a clean and well-equipped house.

We have enjoyed both of our stays at Ings Avenue so we will be going back!

This was an excellent base for our short holiday in this part of the Dales.

The area around Settle is packed with things to do. The house was furnished and equipped to a very high standard with more than we needed. The house was clean and the beds comfortable. We all slept well. The games room did not disappoint. It was an excellent relaxation area with the grandchildren as was the games under the tele, never played triangular dominoes before. Recommend this house with no hesitation. Ruth was very helpful when I phoned for the key safe number. Excellent.

The cottage was lovely and well equipped.

The kitchen had lots of storage. The games room was an added bonus as well. We liked the location of the property as it was within walking distance of Settle without being too near the centre. We would definitely recommend to others.

Great location on the edge of the village.

Although the railway runs behind the cottage there in no disturbance as a result, and the kids loved watching the trains as they passed.

The cottage felt most welcoming as the owners provided essential items for a holiday!

The bathroom could do with a sprucing up. Short walk to the village, the Talbot Arms has very friendly accomodating staff. Lovely little walks straight from the front door.

Only problem was a railway line runs at bottom of garden and our dogs barked when a train passed Sykes should mention this in their description Owner is very helpful

A lovely cottage in a great location, very comfortable and very well equipped.

We stayed for two weeks and, although the weather could have been a bit kinder on a couple of occasions, 2 Ings Avenue provided us with the perfect base to explore the area and to re-visit some previous holiday haunts - this time with a small spaniel in tow who had a lovely time too!

Some treats were left for us on arrival, which was a nice touch, and we particularly enjoyed making use of the games room. I'd definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area, our only regret was not staying longer!

Settle is a great location for walking with easy access to many wonderful places to visit and stunning scenery.

Although the railway line runs behind the house and the main road is to the front neither were busy enough to cause any problems. The garden should be advertised as partially enclosed and would benefit in becoming fully enclosed. Kitchen is well stocked with equipment but an additional smaller frying pan is needed. The rest of the house although relatively small was quite comfortable. Just look up when cleaning as there were a few cobwebs. Enjoyed to games room. Welcoming pack was great, thank you

We had a lovely 4 nights staying at 2 Ings Avenue.

The house is warm, clean and comfortable. We had some great walks with our dog in the area. The games room was a good use of the garage space and we enjoyed using it after returning from our walks. The kitchen is well equipped and the welcome basket was a nice surprise. The king-size bed that we used in the front bedroom was very comfortable. We would suggest adding some coat hooks and shoe storage at the bottom of the stairs as the ones in the cupboard are a bit cramped but this would be our only criticism. Thanks for a lovely stay
