We really enjoyed our stay.

The cottage is excellent, in good order and very well maintained. It is spacious and the living room with balcony on the first floor looks onto the Canal and boats immediately adjacent to the property. Very comfortable and relaxing. The beds were huge and we slept well. The property is well placed for visting local attractions at Skipton and Grassington for example.The owners responded quickly and efficiently to any queries we had. I would happily recommend this cottage to anyone interested in visiting the area.

We found our hosts extremely accommodating and really pleasant to converse with, overall we had a wonderful time.

High quality accommodation in an excellent location for enjoying the Yorkshire Dales and amenities of the village.

The accommodation was one of the best we have stayed in, the facilities were more than adequate which made for a thoroughly enjoyable week.

Location was perfect for getting around the area and plenty of walks from the property for the dog.

As well as this the owners were excellent from start to finish with great communication throughout. We even had a welcome gift on arrival which was really thoughtful. There's lots to do in and around the area is located in but I'd definitely recommend Ingleton Waterfall Trail. Thanks for a great stay and we'll be back again to stay soon :)

Such a lovely peaceful setting and a very comfortable and exceptionally clean property.

The property caters for your every need and the hot tub was an excellent feature which we used daily. Our hosts Nicola & Kyle provided everything we needed. We didn't venture far and sampled all the local eateries in the village which were all excellent. The stairs can be a challenge but we quickly became more efficient with our trips up and down them! Lock View is a perfect antidote to our hectic world - we will be back. Thank you.

Ideal surroundings and very relaxing holiday. Dog loved the balcony, watching the world go by. Owners very helpful when we needed advice about how to turn on the cooker. We used the hot tub every evening, such a nice touch.

Another Perfect Stay – Even Better the Second Time Around!

This was our second stay at this wonderful property, and once again, it did not disappoint. The cottage is finished to an exceptionally high standard, with a real sense of luxury throughout. From the tasteful décor to the attention to detail, everything feels thoughtfully designed for comfort and relaxation. The standout features for us were the sauna and the hot tub – the latter of which we enjoyed every single day! It’s such a treat to unwind there after a day of exploring the beautiful surroundings. The view from the first-floor lounge is wonderful – a perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. The location itself couldn’t be better: ideal for exploring the Yorkshire Dales and venturing further afield across this beautiful part of the country.

This house was clean comfortable and had everything you require in a home from home.

It was set in a perfect position, which was quiet and peaceful. It was also a privilege to meet the very helpful owners.

Beautiful house with amazing views.

We didn't want to leave!! We spent the days walking our dog and exploring the local area and back to the house where we relaxed in the hot tub and sauna. Kitchen was well equipped and the beds were so comfy.

The photos on the booking site do not reflect a true picture of the conditions and configuration of this Town house we asked to move as the property caused us to be uncomfortable, the lounge was out of bounds for us as not comfortable settees and wiff of dogs, staircase difficult and property needs refreshing the outside yard is needing a good clean and teh hot tub filter had fluff around it , We Found Sykes agents unhelpful and obstructive leaving us to stay unhappy for 2 weeks.

Everything a family of 4 needed to stay. Absolutely loved the personal touch of leaving us wine chocolates tea coffee sugar and milk. Much needed after a long journey and arriving late

We had a fantastic time at 6 Lock View.

The house has everything you could want & more. The view was perfect. It was an idyllic setting. We loved the hot tub, sauna & jacuzzi bath. Had a very relaxing stay & it was lovely watching the boats go by on the canal. Can't wait to go back next year.

This is a lovely, comfortable and well looked after property that was spotless on arrival.

The position is excellent with a short walk to the pubs, chippy and co op. The added bonus of the hot tub made it something special.

Lovely place in a quiet village.

Exactly what we were looking for far from the crowds. Excellent location for exploring Yorkshire Dales, within 20 or 30 minutes of several walking options. Also great walks from the doorstep along the canal. Suitable for casual sightseeing or serious walkers. Very lovely and well appointed cottage and nice to soak in the hot tub after a long day out!

A nice house very clean and excellent facilities.

Lots of things to do round about and nice to watch the boats on the canal going through the lock. Village has pubs, Indian restaurant and chip shop all within walking distance. I would recommend

Stylish, very comfortable and well equipped. We spent a huge amount of time just watching the comings and goings on the canal and through the lock. Supermarket, fish and chip shop and pubs within 5 minutes walk. Plus plenty of lovely walks nearby. Very sad to leave.

The 4 of us had an amazing stay at 6 Lock View, we were met on arrival by Kyle who gave us a quick but informative run down of the property.

Everywhere was spotlessly clean and all the facilities listed worked perfectly even if we did have a little difficulty working the electric hob but managed for our needs. The house is perfectly located with lovely views of the canal / lock / fields. We ate the local Indian restaurant one night which was excellent. Everything about our stay was excellent, the only slight gripe was we found the table and chairs outside a little large for the limited yard space. Hot tub, sauna, jacuzzi bath all lovely, wouldn't hesitate to recommend and hopefully return one day.

An excellent property in all respects.

it is well located with panoramic views of the hills and the Leeds/Liverpool canal. It was very handy that the property has an electric car charger which was one of the main reasons we decided to book here. We were particularly impressed with the family members owning the property who were very approachable and helpful - even down to guiding us to the property on our arrival. We would have no hesitation in booking again.

Amazing house!

Very well situated with everything you could ever need within walking distance. The house is stunning and decorated to a very high standard and well equipped. The hot tub is a brilliant idea after a long walk. Sleeping arrangements perfect for two couples having their own self contained areas. Easy access to some moderate walks and great pubs. Overall a luxury base to enjoy Yorkshire.

My wife and I enjoyed our recent stay at Lock View.

The weather wasn’t kind to us but we were always warm and comfortable in the house. It’s in a great location and for us the EV. Charger was really convenient.

A fantastic property with a beautiful view x As soon as we stepped in, it felt like home; Immaculately clean, everything you could possibly need; hot tub and a sauna.

We took our 10yr old chocolate lab Stanley who enjoyed sitting on the first floor balcony watching the ducks, barges and wagging his tail at every passer-by. The wine, chocolate and milk were a lovely touch. Kyle and Nicola were great hosts who greet you in person the night you arrive and were available if you needed them. Walks for all ages and abilities; Gargrave is a beautiful village with 3 pubs, a lovely cafe and gift shop full of sweet treats that take you back in time. An Indian Restaurant (delicious) and a Fish Shop offering tasty meal deals for all budgets. Gargrave is is a great base for Ingleton, Malham, Skipton and Settle too. A great week away and we are already looking into returning next year. Sarah

The cottage is decorated and equipped to a very high standard.

There was nothing that had not been thought through, including the view of the lock. Although this is a semi detached property, there is sufficient space and insulation for this not to be a problem. We had a restful fortnight enjoying The Dales and visiting some of the areas suggested by previous occupants. The local restaurants were exactly as described, the village has a well stocked Co-op and a tearoom, which are within a short stroll from the cottage. We would definitely recommend this property and will be revisiting it.

We had an amazing relaxing stay the property is well maintained with ample utensils we had a problem with the property on the first morning Kyle was straight over to sort it.

The views from the property are amazing our dog loved the balcony watching the ducks in the canal & people & boats going by. The property is exactly as advertised and a great base to explore the Dales. Kyle and Nicola were very welcoming hosts. Being right on the canal is a definite bonus, with the tranquility and scenic access to the town centre.

Lovely little property, would benefit from larger bath towels though.

Would also be great if some sort of gazebo roof could be put over the hot tub so it could’ve been used more in the rain… which it did! Overall though we had a lovely stay & would return

A wonderful stay in a lovely house in a perfect location.

Fabulous views of the canal from the living room and master bedroom. We loved watching the barges go by and the working locks although I wouldn't want to try to do it myself :)!! It was very peaceful but also 5 minutes away from the pub and the local shop. The house has everything you could possibly need. My teen loved the hot tub and sauna. We were lucky to have lovely sunny weather and the house was very cosy and warm. A real home from home and a great relaxing break. Would love to return!

Another superb weeks break in a fabulous cottage with everything you could hope for.

Spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated of a high standard with magnificent views. We stayed at the cottage next door last year and knew we'd be back just didn't think it would be so soon. We've made full use of all the facilities, another well equipped kitchen, enjoyed the Hot Tub sauna and spa bath. Lovely welcome pack of milk, chocolate and bubbly on arrival. Location is perfect In a beautiful village with plenty of places with in walking distance and beautiful places to drive to. Highly recommend the Sunday roast at the Mason Arms Also a Fish and Chip shop, Indian and a quant tea rooms. Which is a must to try as they are all fantastic Also there is a well stocked village Co-op. The hosts were very friendly, and helpful. I'm sure we'll be back again in the future.

This property was of a very good standard and very luxurious with a hot tub and sauna!

It was worth every penny we paid for it. The bedrooms were so beautiful as was the rest of the house with everything we needed for the 3 days we were staying there. Nicola was very quick to respond to any questions we had. We will definitely be back.

Just had Lovely 4 day break here, the property is beautiful, decor & furnishing of a high standard everything you need hot tub & sauna is great after a days walking.

Good location Skipton is a 4 mile walk along the canal, Settle is a half hour away via train or bus, 3 pubs all easily walkable, we ate in the Old Swan would highly recommend the food.

This was an amazing stay and looked exactly like the photos on the website.

Gargrave is a lovely place and everyone is so friendly. Both pubs, the local chippy and indian restaurants must be tried at some point as all excellent. The hosts were great and helped out whenever needed. Would 100% recommend and would love to ho back again in the future.

The property was clean & well furnished.

Communication with Kyle and Nichola was good & helpful too. However, the photograph on the Sykes website, of the view from the first floor balcony (whether you are standing up or sitting down) does not provide a clear enough representation of the ACTUAL view. The view is directly onto a coal merchant yard, with coke heaps covered in tarpaulin and old tyres. The canal & lock can be seen if you look down over the balcony. Very disappointing.

We had a great break in this dog friendly property.

It was well furnished and had all modern conveniences; the hot tub was particularly welcome after a good day walking in the Yorkshire dales. The owners were friendly and helpful, we would recommend highly.

Really nice property very comfortable and lovely.

Only criticism is mine but a filter coffee machine would have been nice. Had a pod coffee machine but not so much my thing. Would recommend without any concerns a really good base for travelling to lots of places lovely out look and nice overall property

The best property we’ve ever booked through Sykes!

Everything of a high standard, comfy beds, great kitchen and hot tub and sauna! A real added bonus was electric car charging on site. The house has a stunning view of the lock with a balcony in the second floor lounge and the village has everything you need and is a short drive from some great spots. We ventured as far as York and Harrogate and the same distance in the opposite direction you can reach Lake Windermere.

This was our second stay at 6 Lock View and it was lovely to visit in warm weather!

The cottage is beautifully presented and very comfortable, the small courtyard garden and the hot tub perfect for 4 people. Gargrave is a very pretty village only 2 minutes walk away and we went into the lovely town of Skipton twice, once by taxi and once on foot via the canal. Well worth a visit and a canal boat trip is also recommended. We would not hesitate to return!

Location is perfect for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. Situated on a working canal in a local town with two excellent pubs and a lovely 5 mile canal walk away from Skipton. Highly recommend this property for couples and families.

A really pleasant weekend retreat, with sauna and hot tub. Had a lovely anniversary weekend. Our hosts left us wine and chocolates upon arrival and were very accommodating about arrival times etc. the welcome pack has useful information and the house is wonderfully comfortable. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.

We really enjoyed our stay at 6 Lock View - the views were fabulous - watching the barges pass by on the canal from the balcony was really enjoyable and very interesting.

A short stroll to the local convenience store, two takeaways (tried both the Indian Takeaway and the Chippy and both were really good). The local pub (The Mason Arms) is less than 10-mins walk away and has a great selection of local ales and good menue as well as a nice beer garden. Very convenient for Skipton (5-mins drive) where you have supermarkets, canal trips, market three times a week. A drive to Malham is a must - apparently where a scene from a Harry Potter film was shot - meant nothing to me but my daughter was thrilled by this!. Bolton Abbey is a short drive and again well worth a visit. Loads of walks right on your door step - especially great for us having a dog. Hot Tub was great and there is a Sauna room (but didn't use due to it being warm anyway!). Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone - we would 100% return to 6 Lock View. The property was lovely.

great facilities though we didnt use these due to the weather being so hot. You can sit and watch the narrow boats go by all day long from the balcony and lots of lovely walks along the canal and the river. The hustle and bustle of Skipton is just a few miles away with lots of bars and eateries. We are hoping to go again later in the year
