Description

A wonderful, semi-detached wing of the owner’s Grade II listed country house, set in its own grounds on the outskirts of the pretty village of Clapham.

Located just a hundred yards from the railway station, this charming holiday home provides great access to the famous Settle-Carlisle Railway line.

Fully renovated, this holiday hideaway provides perfect accommodation for couples and small families looking to enjoy a truly wonderful rural retreat.

Set over two floors with a slightly unusual layout, the property has been meticulously prepared and individually styled, and has the added benefit of a spacious garden boasting lovely views across the surrounding countryside.

The spacious, open plan living area has stylish, modern furnishings, a lovely warming woodburning stove, original beams and a delightful window seat.

The open plan design is a real delight with a modern, well-equipped kitchen and a cosy dining area.

A bathroom and utility area complete the ground floor accommodation.

The main staircase leading to the two bedrooms features a panelled wall, which adds to the overall character and charm of this cottage.

A main bedroom with lovely views across open countryside, a spacious twin bedroom and a small but useful cloakroom with basin and WC are all handily placed on the same floor.

Outside is a lawned area with a table and chairs - a great place to sit and take in the views and relaxing atmosphere.

The thriving local village of Clapham is a fifteen-minute walk away, whilst the likes of Skipton, Settle, Ribblehead, Dent, Garsdale and Appleby can be readily accessed through the rail line.

With excellent walking and cycling opportunities in the nearby area, along with many fine country pubs and award-winning restaurants, this is a perfect location for a romantic break.

The nearest amenities are just a mile away, with a shop selling organic vegetables, local produce, and a coffee shop and a pub, whilst Ingleton is just a little further, known for its incredible scenery with impressive woodland waterfalls and stunning show caves.

The whole of the Yorkshire Dales and the splendour of The Lake District, West Coast, The Forest of Bowland and the Three Peaks are all within an hour’s scenic drive.

A lovely holiday cottage whatever the time of year.

Had a great stay.

The cottage was clean and comfortable and had everything we could need. We particularly enjoyed the log fire. The location was good to go straight onto the dales and close to the towns of Settle and Ingleton. The hosts live next door and were very welcoming also any questions we had they were close at hand.

Brilliant place to stay, with it being the best equipped cottage, I believe I have ever had the pleasure of staying in, (and I have stayed in a few), it just seemed to have everything!

Would definitely recommend.

The best cottage I've stayed in for a long time - a lovely building, and wonderfully equipped - walking maps (including the full selection of nearby OS maps), kitchen, and books and games as well.

Add to that the friendly owners and the thoughtful welcome pack, and there's literally nothing I would have changed.
