Very nice clean and tidy cottage with everything you need and surprisingly spacious.

Would come back again and recommend to others.

The accommodation was very nice it was set in a pretty rural area there was a main road next to it but this was quite at night time.

There was a very large lawn which was good for the dog the only thing that we did notice there was no public footpath close by. We drove down to the louth canal with was only 12 minutes away so was able to enjoy a romantic sunset walk and the dog was able to enjoy a nice walk. It was easy to travel to the seaside and only took about 30 minutes to travel there

Well kept cottage all equipment you need clean and tidy bed very comfortable felt very secure and safe with electrical gates to enter and leave property all on one level large rooms had a fab holiday no light pollution plenty of wildlife would stay again

Disappointing.

Poor condition including exterior cracking and flaking, filthy windows. Mold in kitchen, no storage space at all in kitchen. Half eaten biscuits found in a tin. Smelt damp. Coffee machine leaks terribly so empty it of water. Coffee pods a nice touch. Blood stains on duvet cover, made me cringe. Owner did come and change after i tried several times knocking on door. No contact for her in cottage despite note saying any problems call me. Photos on site show carpet in bedroom, its actually cold hard tiled floor. Not much storage in bedroom. Bed very comfortable though. Sometimes shower suddenly went cold then hot again. No other taps in use at this time. Towels smelt after a couple of days. Extremely close to road. A lot of loud traffic car/lorry noise all day every day approx 20 metres from lounge window. Can be seen its off a road but impossible to understand extent of disturbance from noise and proximity. Old pallet and rotten cladding chucked in weedy garden in front of lounge window. Only one smoke alarm in property situated in corner of small entrance hall. Patio doors in lounge only unlock from the outside.

We love this cottage as we have visited several times.

Complete privacy and comfort . The road outside is busy but hardly noticeable inside.Very handy for Louth and all its amenities and also the coast.Recommend fully.

Dove Cottage was a comfortable cottage for two and a dog - ideally situated for visiting the coast and inland .

It had everything we needed. It was comfortable and clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Lovely cottage in a great location to enable either a quiet stay or as a base to explore Lincolnshire.

The cottage is surprisingly spacious and it’s a bonus to have the security of the locked gate and dedicated parking for the car. The cottage could be improved by a few minor tweaks including more space to store food for self-catering and a few additional kitchen items like pint glasses maybe. That being said, the bed is very comfortable, the shower is great and the cottage was very warm and cosy and we would stay happily stay there again. The owner Sara was very friendly and helpful sharing tips about local places to eat but was not intrusive. She was honest about the cottage needing some changes snd they are working through them over time whilst maintaining a reasonable price for stays. We would recommend Dove Cottage and hope to start again in the future.

Our third visit to Dove Farm Cottage we love it here ,comfortable perfect to where we want to be and secure parking.

This is our second visit to Dove cottage.

We found everything to be as we expected. Very clean and comfortable. Plenty of space for us and our doodle. Maybe an extra blanket in the bedroom, as we were here as the colder weather started, would be nice. A lovely place to stay and somewhere we will come back to.

The cottage is delightful, however the kitchen although it looks good does not facilitate self catering.

No where to put the shopping that we had done. Needs a dedicated cupboard for food. The dishwasher does not clean had to buy washing up liquid. Also although a coffee machine is available you need particular pods to use it . Some there but we only drink black. Outside looking tired.

We were unable to get hot water or heating during the three days we stayed at Dove Farm Cottage.

Unable to contact owners or Sykes to rectify matters. This added to an already traumatic weekend as we were in Lincolnshire to see our boy who is end of life. The cottage is lovely apart from this issue

Friendly owner, beautiful setting, loved the cottage appearance inside and out.

Welcoming and Internet was very tricky and unstable. Maybe consider welcome pack and instruction manual about the property

This is our first visit to Dove Farm, and it won't be our last.

A comfortable well equipped cottage, a great bed, very comfortable to sleep. A great setting and various places to visit close to hand. we would recommend to anyone, as long as it is not the weeks we want to visit. Only one downside the Toilet, is very low, but the wonderful shower made up for it. We will be back. Barry and Rod.

Property could do with some outside maintenance lovely comfortable bed,there was only 7 hangers in the wardrobe no where else to put clothes no hand towels no washing up liquid only empty bottle, 1 small tea towel which left black fibres all over plates etc no where to keep groceries

Very comfortable accomodation close to the historical town of Louth.

Close to many lovely walks and places of interest.

Third visit to this property and as usual it was very relaxing.

Good spot for Louth and surrounding area.Certainly recommend this property.

Our only complaint would be the 3 seater sofa was not the most comfortable.

I recommended anyone who stay in North Lincolnshire book this cottage, only 5 minutes drive to Louth town where there are plenty of pubs and restaurants.

. also lovely independent shops.. the cottage has large space of garden for my dog to run around.. only issue is that the road can be very dark at night time and very little light at the front where we could not find where the gate is. I would book this cottage again in the future.

It smelt a bit damp to me when we opened the cottage door, my husband thought it was more the smell of cleaning products.

I know it's self-catering, but I have never been to somewhere with literally 3 sheets of toilet paper left on the roll. Good job I took some with us. Disappointed, there was no welcome pack. A few biscuits or crisps are always welcome. I think weve been spoilt with our previous cottages. It would have been nice for the grass area to be fenced off as it was hard to keep the dog to just that area she wanted to explore. Maybe having a bit of grass or even astroturf in the little front enclosed area would be better. She kept wanting to go out there and was convinced the long window was a door. A few ideas of local dog walks without having to go off in the car or walk down by the busy road would have been appreciated, too. We enjoyed exploring the local area, relaxing walks on the beach at Mablethorpe, and at Hubbard's Hills. We loved the bed. It was so comfy and we slept really well. It was a lovely cosy cottage and we enjoyed our stay. We were very lucky with the weather too

Nice spacious cottage though inside was a little tired.

Wi fi didn’t work but don’t really use it. Shame about busy road but nothing they can do about that. Very nice people.

No kitchen roll not a lot of washing up liquid had to buy these!

! bed was very comfortable and the sofas. no instructions for the microwave believe that this has been mentioned before! so could not use it. otherwise we had a very good holiday

Property outside could do with an update.

Also the soft furnishings could also do with an updated. Curtains in front room hanging off the pins. The bedding was very thin and being grey did not look as clean as one expected. Towels also not very fresh smelling. The cottage was in an ideal situation for us and reasonably quiet even though you are next to a busy road .

Lovely cottage so clean & well equipped the bed was so comfortable only drawback was the pillows were a little flat but I bought two cushions so had a fantastic sleep

Situated near road but quiet and traffic not a problem. Well located for Louth and good base for inland and coastal attractions. Very worthy for another future visit.

Warm and comfortable.

Some instruction on how to use the appliances would be helpful for those of us in our 80 and 90 's but that is not a complaint, just we can't keep up !

We have just returned from Dove Farm Cottage, where we had a very relaxing holiday.

The cottage itself is very clean, cosy and comfortable. The bed is especially comfortable. The cottage is on quite a busy road, but the traffic didn't bother us at all. The owners are friendly and helpful. It was lovely looking out of the lounge window across the fields. The outside of the cottage needs a bit of maintenance, and the curtain rail in the lounge needs sorting out. Also there was nowhere in the kitchen to put provisions, One more wall cupboard would be useful. None of this spoiled our holiday, and we would consider returning in the future.

This is a most wonderful cottage.

Clean and gas everything we needed. Owners are on site but not intrusive, it is very private. Location very good for Louth and the seaside. We would definitely use it again when we visit the area

Very accommodating.

For once, it was great to get a real pet friendly cottage. No impractical bed linen. Great throws to put over settees. The cottage catered for all my needs. Lovely setting, as well. Great TV in lounge, being able to able to access all usual channels through Alexa.

Second time we have stayed at Dove cottage with our westie Patsy and we will book again on our next visit to Louth and Lincolnshire in 2024.

Perfect accommodation and location. Ideal for exploring this beautiful county including the coast. The cottage has everything you need and the peacefulness is absolute bliss-quite the contrast to SE London. The owners are non intrusive but available if you need them. Front room is very spacious and lovely big garden area. And yes there are doves who reside at Dove cottage 10/10

Lovely accomodation, welcoming and warm.

Loved the access to the garden, especially for our dogs. It was situated well, we were a short drive to Louth and 20 minutes away from the beach.We would definitely stay again.

The cottage was very relaxing and peaceful with a very comfortable bed, Well equipped with everything you need.

The only thing that we felt could improve was storage in bedroom for clothing , maybe a chest of drawers would be beneficial. The owners were extremely welcoming and helpful when required.

We have had a wonderful stay here - it was the ideal property for the two of us and our two springer spaniels.

The cottage itself is roomy, clean and very well equipped. We cooked the majority of our evening meals at the cottage and found everything we needed in the kitchen. The bed was very comfortable (and did not make a sound); the television was very good and we were able to log in and watch our favourite Netflix shows. The garden was perfect for our dogs - very secure and ample sized for them to run around. They loved it! We did a few loads of washing and found the machine to be clean and efficient. We were lucky enough with the weather for it to dry on the washing line but would find it useful to have a clothes airer available to hang damp clothes overnight. In terms of the location, this was perfect for exploring both the Wolds and the coast. We especially liked visiting Louth on busy market day (Wednesday) and found it to be an incredibly welcoming place for dogs. With family in the area, we are very likely to be back in Lincolnshire again and will not hesitate to book Dove Farm cottage again as it perfectly met our needs. Thank you to Sara and Julian for being so welcoming and for a lovely stay. We hope to see you again sometime (maybe ‘parkour pup’ may have settled down a little haha).

We had a lovely week at the beginning of June.

The cottage is in beautiful surroundings, is homely, clean and extremely comfortable. The decking is a great little suntrap with views over the well maintained garden with the fields beyond and a lovely little dove cote on the lawn with resident doves. We highly recommend this cottage, the owners are extremely helpful and very friendly. We liked this cottage a lot. We have stayed in quite a few holiday lets and very few make it to our "want to return to" list but this is definitely one we want to return to. Its a perfect base for The Wolds, the coast, all the little interesting Lincolnshire towns and villages and RAF history. Some other reviewers mention a creaky bed, we didn't experience this, we found the TV and DVD player worked well, no complaints from us and yes there is a road which seemed busiest during the school run times, occasional traffic but did not spoil our stay at all. Can't comment on the kitchen appliances as we ate out and only used the grill on the cooker, which was fine.

Bed has been reported before about creaking,either occupant moved it woke the other up.

Sink in kitchen badly stained. Used cooker once and it smoked so badly due to lack of cleaning. Freezer box in fridge was badly iced up, could only get 500g of frozen chicken in. Bathroom sink is cracked and unhygienic. Was not offer any towels and bed linen for 2nd week despite paying for the pleasure. Being so close to a main road was not mentioned in details, so quite a bit of noise all day long. Washing machine mouldy and was promised it would be cleaned, this never happened.

Had a wonderful week in Lincolnshire visiting family and friends.

Accommodation very good and well equipped for self catering visitors. The bed, although very creaky was clean and comfortable. The only reason we didn’t give this a 5 star rating was the television and dvd player that needed updating. We spoke with the owners about this and they agreed it needed attention. We’d happily book again should the need arise.

The decor was lovely and the furniture and bed comfortable.

It was nice having a dressing table with mirror with a socket nearby which is often missing in a holiday cottage. Knowing that your car and belongings are safe behind a controlled gate was reassuring. The shower was good and TV/ Wi-Fi reliable. A nice place to stay.

A lovely place to stay in order to enjoy the Lincolnshire walks and coast.

The gardens were good for a quick wander for the dog as it is acknowledged the surrounding area isn't suitable for dog walks but there was plenty of walks a short drive away. Generally well equipped except the bedroom. We prefer to unpack but with 4 coat hangers and no drawers this was not possible. The bed is very comfortable but exceptionally creaky so turning over woke the other! Another tiny point is that there was no welcome pack provided, we took everything with us but please bear in mind there is nowhere to pop out for a pint of milk on a Sunday evening and the local pubs weren't serving food that evening when we phoned round - cooking was no problem though as all the pans and utensils were provided. We would recommend as we had a superb break.

We wanted a week away from it all and this was a wonderful space for that.

Best nights sleep on a comfortable bed, we had asked for a lighter cover as weather so mild and this was sorted for us. Good facilities with everything needed to make it home from home. A couple of small things. Promise of milk on arrival but there wasn't any - we had our own anyways but if you were relying on this then you would have to go back out. Needed to use the washing machine but had to clean it first as smelly and mouldy round door. Guides to use electricals etc would have been helpful for reassurance.

I had a three night stay over Xmas and the cottage was just what I needed.

Very clean, warm and with everything I needed Sara checked with me on my way out one day to see if everything was OK, which it was. Nice to know the owners are close if you need anything Welcome gifts were delightful. Thank you very much x

Everything you need is readily available and the cottage is cosy. Great location and Louth has a lot to offer. Joules and Sara are hands off hosts which suited us but they we’re available if you needed anything. Would love to come back

Beautiful cottage spotless everything we needed, went to Lincoln cathedral and castle well worth a walk round the walls cracking views, also went to Mablethorpe and grimsby, great market in louth, had a brilliant time, thank you Sara for the apples they are all mulched down and in freezer, would definitely come again, so relaxing,

The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed.

The location was very quiet and peaceful. Bunnies in the garden! We didn't meet the hosts as they were on holiday too but they kept it touch via text which was reassuring. We needed a rest and this was the perfect place for it.

Excellent - first class!

We have stayed in numerous cottages over the years, but this surpasses them all! Everything was so very well thought through - from pet friendly flooring (you'd be surprised how many still have beige carpeting throughout!); to beautifully kept grounds! All the utensils needed were provided (and they were items of quality) and everywhere was spotlessly clean. Such a refreshing place to stay! Quiet peaceful location brilliant for our dogs.

The proximity to both Louth and the coast makes it ideal to explore the countryside and have some enjoyable shopping and meals out. The hosts were very helpful but not intrusive and we will definitely be booking a return visit

We really enjoyed staying at Dove Farm Cottage.

Everything was immaculately clean and very comfortable lots of space to relax in and very well equipped to eat in. The patio area was great to sit out on with chairs and tables and your own private space. Owners were very kind and helpful. There was lots to see and do within a short distance of the cottage.

There was a washing machine but no where to hang any wet washing

It had everything we needed for our stay. Ideally situated to explore Lincolnshire. Sara and Jules were lovely. There if we needed them but not at all intrusive. All in all our stay was just lovely. When can we go again please?

Spotlessly clean and comfortable.

The fridge had the shelves in the door missing which was a nuisance as we had to lay our milk and bottles on the shelves which took up most of the fridge, so not much room for anything else. Property could do with a little updating to bring it up to the five ticks mark, but we had a comfortable stay and the bed linen smelt lovely.

We felt the cottage and location were perfect for us.

We had the most exceptional stay in this cottage.

It was secure, well appointed, well equipped and to and aesthetic good standard. A lot of thought had gone into the setting up and arrangements within the cottage which made for a very comfortable base from which to explore the area. returning to the cottage felt like coming home each day.

The cottage was equipped with everything you could possibly want.

The décor and fittings were in excellent taste and of a good quality. The cleanliness was exceptional. The owners lived on site and were extremely hospitable. Highly recommended.

It said queen size bed witch is what we alway go for so was a little disappointed to see a king size bed!

We just returned from a week away in Dove Farm Cottage.

It was our first family holiday with our daughter (1 year old) and 2 dogs. The cottage was well equipped and had everything we needed for a home away from home. It is a great location and we were able to visit lots of attractions with 30mins. The dogs really enjoyed running around in the garden and playing with their ball. The host was very welcoming and friendly. A perfect little getaway.

The cottage is lovely, spacious and spotlessly clean. There is a large garden area and generous parking space. Although there wasn't anywhere to walk with the dog directly from the cottage, there was plenty of lovely walks and beaches within a short drive. Would definitely recommend.

Not easy to find.

Had to ask a passer by.l believe that's to be sorted by Sara.Sadly nowhere to walk the dogs.had to walk by a field.very busy road.no outlook if sitting on decking you face a huge shed. In lounge you face a brick wall. In kitchen preparation area very small.and nowhere to put provisions only fridge. The bed was very comfortable. You couldn't go for a walk. Although it's a lovely cottage we would not use it again.
