What guests are saying
Accommodation was clean and comfortable but should have been better equipped.
For example, there is no mirror in the bedroom, no hair dryer and no non slip mat for the shower. We had to buy pillows as the ones provided were flat and hard. We had to unblock the chimney on the hot tub to get that going properly. Once it was heated it kept it's heat well and was easy to maintain. Steps for the hot tub were dangerously slippy when wet. In comparison to other places we have stayed we would say this is rather overpriced. Despite the negatives we still had a good holiday in a private accommodation with plenty of places to visit.
The cottage is in a beautiful setting but there are room for improvements.
.. No sign at the roadside indicating where the property was. Good parking General cleanliness/maintenance wasn't good, ie, grease on the front door handle, dirty windows, kitchen kick boards cracked, cooker plinth very stained, kitchen tap constantly dripping & loose, number of bulbs not working in the ceiling, multiple wall plugs visible, no cleaning cloths to wipe sides down. Reasonable selection of kitchen equipment. Whilst its noted.... not to have a freezer or even freezer compartment isnt good. Nowhere to hang clothes apart from some coat hooks in bedroom...we ended up using the coat stand to hang clothes. Please take care in the bath, its very slippy & dont expect to actually take a bath, there arnt any taps! Garden perfect if you have dogs, although would have looked nice if the grass had been cut- was a good few weeks worth of growth. Decking looks lovely but post tops are loose, finishing trim all on floor. Wood fired hot tub fantastic, although please take care getting in & out as the step isnt fixed to the floor. The woodland setting is stunning, we had many peaceful walks in & around the area. The welcome pack needs building on... In its current state the property is overpriced but with a little money spent on it would be stunning.
Little Lodge was in a stunning location set back into your own woodlands.
Very peaceful. Lots of space for dogs made them feel at home to. The lodge was lovely and spacious the fire in the living room made it all more than cosy in evenings. The only downside no biggy but the sofa bed if using as a bed isn't very comfy at all. The owners left lots of stuff ie puzzles, books, games to use which was very nice. The kitchen is very well equipped. The bed room upstairs is very big and spacious. In the gardens the hot tub was a lovely extra but when in cold weather it is very expensive to run, we felt that they fire side of it needed a good cleaning out as couldn't always get it to fire up properly as sticky black stuff kept coming down but that is a quick fix. There is lots of walks for the dogs ect around they property. The owners are very nice and helpful to. I would highly recommend staying here. Thanks for a lovely week
