  • "Overall Review The overall experience at the Telford property was okay."

I really appreciated the quirkiness and character of the house, and the hosts were polite and helpful throughout our stay. That said, there are several areas — particularly relating to safety and maintenance — that need attention. Cleanliness & Arrival Before arrival, the homeowner contacted us to advise that the kitchen sockets were not working and that the microwave, which is above the oven in a housing unit, did not work as they could not locate a plug for it. While the hob and fridge worked and we managed, this was not ideal. On arrival, the property was generally acceptable but not as clean as I would expect. The cutlery drawer was dirty, and there was visible dust in some areas. Electrics & Safety Concerns The main concern during our stay was the state of the electrics, which felt unsafe upon closer consideration: The living room electrics are powered via an extension lead fed through the window from the garage to operate the TV. The Wi‑Fi router (located in the back room opposite the kitchen) is powered by an extension lead running over the counter door from the dining room, as the sockets in that room do not work. The lights in the main bedroom did not function, aside from a very dull lamp. Overall, the electrical setup feels like a temporary solution and would benefit from proper upgrading for safety reasons. Wi‑Fi & Facilities After the first night, the Wi‑Fi stopped working and was not restored for the remainder of our stay (we left on Friday). The top mattress on the bunk bed was extremely uncomfortable and appears to be material directly on metal — it really needs replacing. Hot Tub & Water Issues The hot tub control panel does not appear to work and has been modified with replacement buttons. It also did not seem to have been properly cleaned, and no chemicals were present to manage bacteria, which is concerning. On the final day, the water pressure dropped significantly and the shower stopped working altogether in the main bathroom. Suggestions While the house is very homely and full of charm, I feel the property requires attention in some key safety and maintenance areas. A welcome book would also be very helpful, as there was little guidance on how to use appliances and facilities, and I found myself needing to ask multiple questions during the stay. With improvements in these areas, the property could offer a much better and safer experience.

  • "This house was so much fun!"

There’s a nice hot tub, a games room, comfortable beds and tons to do. You can see from the moment you drive in, there has been a lot of effort, thought, and time put into the place to provide a comfortable and fun experience for everyone. The kids loved it, the adults did, even our dogs were in heaven. It was so nice to enjoy the hot tub and not worry about our crazy patterdale terrier being out of sight. The only thing I would suggest would be to specify that you need to bring 50 pence coins to play pool and the arcade games. We didn’t realise that until we arrived. All in all, everyone wants to come back and stay there again, so it was a total success!
