On first impression it’s a nice property which has had a renovation to create a light, open plan(ish) living area.

Nice big fridge freezer, smart bathroom, big smart TV, some family games. On closer look though, there are issues. Decoration is patchy, with paint marks on light fittings & furniture, and scratches and marks around the property. Some blinds are broken and curtains in living room leave a foot gap at the bottom of the patio door. Tv aerial is hung up by a coat hanger on the picture rail. Dishwasher has a note inside it saying not to be used. Downstairs toilet seat is loose. Shower doors are broken and despite the email the day before saying there would be a curtain instead, there wasn’t one. Messaged owner who said it had been fixed, but it came off the moment I moved it. She brought round a curtain without hooks which was pretty much useless on the curved door frame. Suggested hanging it up with coat hangers! Wind howled through the cracks in the windows and down the blocked up chimney. Wall clock had no battery, neither did any of the fake candles. No instructions in the house for working things like the heating. Well equipped kitchen but with mismatched and dirty cutlery, and crockery mixed up all over the cupboards. Mouldy items in the toilet waste bin.

Kitchen was nice but washing machine waste pipe smelly downstairs toilet seat not fixed properly, inner front door not closing properly, Upstairs bathroom shower dirty and an issue with the door.

My sister used the back bedroom and the bed rails not fixed properly. Apart from that all was ok. 1 thing may be a good idea to have a folder containing information about rubbish, recycling and just general information about the house. We had a long wait to get the code for the key safe we were given the wrong code and that was not the owners fault it was Sykes never passed it on.

We had a nice stay at Broad Green.

Property was clean. Nice garden although a little overgrown. Nice outside seating area through patio door. The bed was really comfortable. New carpet upstairs. Large upstairs bathroom and a loo downstairs as well. Milk, tea, coffee, biscuits etc was a nice touch. Thank you. The kitchen was very well equipped. Washing machine and dishwasher although we didn't use either. The location was ideal for us. The train station was about a 9-10 minute walk. Bus stop just around the corner. Both ideal for getting into the city centre and further afield. Across the road there's an entrance to the Liverpool Loop line. It's a lovely paved cycle/ walking path . We walked to Sainsbury's from there one day. Then the other direction on another day. Very pleasant. The National Trust properties of Rufford Old Hall and Speke Hall are a short drive away. Plenty of things to do in Liverpool. It might have been useful to have some written instructions from the host ,WiFi code, bins etc and what to do when leaving the property. This is by no means a criticism, to save bothering them. When I contacted the host she came back promptly. Thank you for a nice stay.
