Description

A traditional end-terrace cottage, part of which dates back to the 1650s, ideally located on the outskirts of the ancient town of Clun, over the road from St. George’s Church, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The owner's personal touches are evident throughout the cottage, which combines the comforts of modern day living with many original features, including wall and ceiling beams and a stone fireplace.

The main entrance hall provides space for bike, boot and outdoor equipment storage.

Enter the handmade wooden kitchen, which is very well equipped including a Tassimo coffee machine, and dining area, ideal for relaxing with friends over a lazy Sunday lunch.

The sitting room next door boasts reclining leather sofas and an original fireplace housing a Clearview woodburning stove, perfect for cosy evenings.

The three first floor bedrooms have original wall beams and lovely views across the surrounding fields to the woodland beyond.

Outside is an enclosed garden with a patio area, perfect for enjoying the peace and tranquillity of the countryside whilst dining alfresco or relaxing with a good book.

The pretty town of Clun has many amenities, including two good pubs, a family butcher and a village store, as well as offering many lovely walks, with the Jack Mytton Way and Shropshire Way running through the village and the Offa's Dyke Path also close by.

A wonderful cottage for a memorable holiday at any time of year.

From the outset the cottage was exactly what we wanted and more.

It's in a beautiful setting and there were lots of extra's that are not listed in the details - the iron, hairdryer, straighteners, coffee pods for the machine, teabags and sugar, washing up liquid and tea towels etc .... The beds are so comfy and the linen crisp and white, we slept way better than at home, but that may be the peaceful setting too ! The only downside I can possibly think of was that one day we did get caught in the rain, and there was no way of drying clothes withput putting the log fire on. The heaters are electrical and pre-set, so they are unable to be turned on on demand. But other than that the cottage was just what we needed and highly recommended. The owner Lorraine was so helpful too when we had issues with the TV. We became regulars at the White Horse pub, the Post Card cafe too, both offering great hospitality with a really comfortable and friendly atmosphere.

Lovely old cottage in a great location.

Only downsides were that the showers were not very powerful (understandable with electric showers in a hard water area though) and mattresses were pretty uncomfortable (again we understand that the property is on the market so not worth replacing them). However would recommend to anyone looking to stay in a pretty, peaceful location with great pubs and coffee shops etc nearby
