Ty Newydd

We stayed here as a group of 14 women celebrating a 40th birthday weekend with family members aged between 30–60.

The property itself is beautiful — very rural, peaceful, with lovely grounds, a pool and hot tub. The house was clean overall and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. Unfortunately, the experience was completely overshadowed by the owner’s behaviour, which was honestly some of the worst hospitality we’ve experienced. Firstly, the check-in and check-out times were extremely poor for the price paid. Check-in wasn’t until 5pm on Friday and check-out was 9am on Sunday morning, meaning for a Friday–Sunday booking we effectively only had Friday evening and Saturday before having to get up early and leave. Two of the bedrooms also had bedding that smelt strongly of wet dog/damp laundry, like it hadn’t dried properly before being put on the beds. One guest charged her electric car overnight using her own charger, from around 80–100%, which would have cost only a few pounds at most. On Saturday morning, when the owner arrived to supposedly “check the pool chlorine levels,” we all watched him through the living room window take a photo of the car charging before leaving again. At that point, he could very easily have politely knocked the door and simply told us charging wasn’t permitted, and we would have unplugged it immediately without any issue whatsoever. Instead, he chose to save the issue until checkout morning and then demanded £20 for the charge. Initially he claimed he “couldn’t possibly know” how much it had cost him, then changed his story and said he charges a flat £20 fee regardless — despite also saying he doesn’t permit charging at all. We paid purely because he threatened to deduct it from the housekeeping deposit if we refused. When challenged on the amount, he laughed and replied: “I’m a businessman, what do you expect, for me to fill all your cars with petrol before you leave too?” Completely unnecessary and incredibly rude. We specifically asked him to inspect the property before we left because we were concerned he might make accusations after checkout. The house was immaculate when we left — we were respectful guests throughout and caused no issues whatsoever. During this inspection he tried to complain that we had used pool floats that “weren’t permitted,” despite the property photos advertising the pool with floats in it. When we pointed this out, he claimed they were “for photo purposes only.” How guests are supposed to know that without it being stated anywhere is beyond me. Most uncomfortable of all was his attitude towards our group. He questioned us about what the website says regarding “same sex parties.” We replied that it says no hens or stag dos, which we were not. He then stated he “doesn’t permit same sex parties.” If that is genuinely his policy, it absolutely should be made clear before taking £2,500 from guests. His attitude throughout the conversation was dismissive and hostile. The final straw came on Sunday morning around 8am when he knocked and then pushed the door open shouting “hello” upstairs while one of our group was standing on the landing in her underwear. That was completely inappropriate and unacceptable. It’s such a shame because the property itself is lovely, but the owner’s behaviour completely ruined what should have been a special family celebration. We left feeling uncomfortable, watched and unwelcome throughout much of the stay. I’ve actually been reluctant to post this review straight away because, based on our experience, he seems the kind of owner who would withhold the housekeeping deposit over a negative review. Ironically, during the argument before checkout, he repeatedly told us to “put it in a review.” That almost made the anxiety of posting an honest review even worse before knowing whether our deposit would actually be returned.

We had a great time.

The property is large enough to accommodate a big group and not feel cramped. There was plenty of space for us all and the facilities were great. The well stocked kitchen was also fantastic, along with the 2 dishwashers, large fridge and washing machine. We were a group of 8 adults and 7 children and the accommodation was great for us.

We booked the property for three nights for three generations of our family to celebrate a 70th birthday with ages ranging from 15 to 71.

We had an amazing time from start to finish and were very sad to leave. Mr Arwel Jones met us on arrival and showed us everything we needed to know. The house was very spacious and exceptionally well provided with plenty of everything you would need if you filled the property with the maximum 15 guests. The games room and hot tub were well used. The indoor pool took things to another level. The property is set amidst beautiful Welsh hill country with lots of places to visit if you wished. The extensive grounds provided plenty of opportunity for outside play or relaxation. We all felt it was the best place we had ever stayed, and would n't hesitate to revisit or recommend. The house was perfect for our party of 14.

The bedrooms and number of beds worked well and the outside space at the rear was great for games. The pool is on the small side but big enough for us and a nice temperature. The hot tub was excellent. Some areas are a little tired like the woodland area, the paving around the house and some of the games equipment but overall the house provided what we needed for a great family holiday.

Ty Newyddis a lovely house but the downstairs is tired & in need of an upgrade but comfy & homely .

The upstairs bedrooms & bathrooms are lovely . The views & Bird life are amazing & the beautiful field at the back of the house is really good for young ones to run around on & the pool & hot tub are good & looked after daily by the owners . The flagging around the outside areas is a bit dangerous with uneven & loose flags which is a little risky for people with poor mobility. The other negative is the kitchen is invaded by a lot of flies so keep food covered at all times . Although I have pointed out negatives we had the most amazing time on our stay celebrating my 70th & ages ranged from 2- 72 but just felt the price during school holidays is a little high when you bear these issues in mind but you can't put a price on memories & we made some special ones at Ty Newydd . The owners are lovely people & would be there to sort anything out that they can . I just wanted this to be an honest review but if you are aware of these issues then don't let them put you off . We would return again but outside of high season when price not so high .

The owner was on site to welcome us and showed us around the property.

He was available throughout our stay if needed and had provided starter items,e.g.milk, tea bags and a super cake to make us feel at home. There was a plentiful supply of towels and hot water and the pool and hot tub were serviced each day. The facilities were spotless and we could not have wanted for more. Our family of 15 ranging from 2 - 80 years enjoyed every minute of our stay and were sorry to have to leave. A first class property and a delightful host!!

Fantastic holiday home.

Lovely pool and hot tub which were well maintained. Good facilities and great family space. The beds were all very comfortable and water pressure excellent for all the showers. Perfect holiday home. We enjoyed the peaceful countryside setting. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

The property is beautiful but the outdoor flagged area could do with some TLC.

The flags are also very uneven and lose in parts which can cause issues for people with mobility. Other than that it was absolutely perfect and we had a fabulous time.

Lovely house we stayed for my daughters 30th birthday weekend and had a fabulous time we didn't want to go home everything you could need is there (except maybe a hairdryer) the owners were lovely too - and the cake left for us on arrival was delicious

Fantastic views Needs a little TLC paint etc nothing much Maybe a new cooker, as there are no numbers, temperatures on the dials. So we had to cook with by trial and error. Would love to go back again

Fabulous holiday home, we had a wonderful stay there.

Comfortable living areas and well equipped kitchen. Very comfortable beds with good quality bedding. The kids loved the pool, adults the hot tub and the games room was a bonus. The owners were there to greet us when we arrived and gave a short but informative introduction re the facilities and were always available for advice. Would wholeheartedly recommend this property

We had a wonderful stay in this house celebrating a big birthday.

The house had everything we needed, was comfy and immaculately clean. The pool and hot tub were great fun and well used by the adults and children. The children loved running around the huge gardens and playing with the balls and games equipment that are available to use. The views from the house are beautiful and there is plenty of space inside for a large, extended family to relax. Highly recommend!

Property was lovely if had to have a negative check in at 17.

00 to late and check out 9.00am to early. pool was lovely hot tub great didn’t realise there was a little cottage to let next door to the property thought we was on our own could be overlooked in hot tub and no loud music at night in hot tub due to having neighbours in the let next door would have liked to have known about the small let so close but otherwise was nice to have all the family together plenty of rooms and bedrooms cake on arrival was lovely

Absolute best place we’ve stayed!

Lovely house with everything you need. We couldn’t of picked a better place for our family for my sons 18th birthday for us as a family to celebrate together. The kids were fully entertained with all the activities and us adults had a lovely relax in the pool, hot tub and had a lovely bbq. Hosts were lovely, helpful, very attentive and made sure our stay was perfect. Beautiful house thank you so much and thank you for our cake left for us it was delicious x

This is an outstanding property, the best place we have stayed in.

Owner Arwel was extremely nice and helpful. The massive garden was great for playing games with the included equipment, with cows and views nearby to look at, very secluded and private. Drive was very big so cars were secure. Pool and hot-tub was excellent, clean and always warm. Rooms were all made up nice with plenty of bathrooms. Kitchen was large and perfect for a big group (we had 11). We do not have a single complaint and would happily stay here again and again, highly recommend.

Family of 14 (9 adults, 5 children) enjoyed a family birthday at this house.

It is set in a very quiet area, very peaceful. Everything was perfect. Kids (and adults) thoroughly enjoyed the pool and games room and also the hot tub was very popular. House was very well equipped, gardens were lovely. There are some really nice walks in the area. The owner Arwel was very nice and helpful at all times and also with information on hill climbing for the more energetic in our family! Very good experience for a large family getaway. (Complimentary cake went down a treat!)

We all had a wonderful stay at Ty Newydd from a warm welcome and tour of the property off Arwel to discovering all of the excellent facilities, literally everything we could possibly want.

The four teenagers we had with us made extremely good use of the swimming pool hot tub and the two acres at the rear for cricket rounders and badminton. The property inside is very spacious extremely well furnished and decorated ,and more than amply supplied crockery cutlery and cooking utensils. The games room with the pool table and table soccer was also a big success. A very nice touch was a delicious Victoria Sponge cake left for us, much appreciated as was the charcoal left for the BBQ. On maintenance generally excellent ,under the rim of the swimming pool had some green staining and some flagstones on the rear of the property were loose and very slippery when wet. The begonias around the property were beautiful and a very nice addition. Many thanks to Mr & Mrs Arwel Jones for a great stay.

Facilities were all really good, property was spotlessly clean. Setting was really good with lots of outdoor space to let everyone let off steam in the fresh air. A really good find.

Fabulous bank holiday weekend even the weather was in our favour.

Arwel met us at the property and showed us around and we were even gifted home made cake on arrival. The pool was a hit with the grandchildren and the hot tub was a hit with everyone. Hugh garden for football, cricket and a shed full of games equipment to entertain everyone. Never been in a property with so much kitchen equipment and utensils etc on hand. The views around the property were amazing which we sat and viewed whilst having the bbq. Loved it.

Fab property.

We visited Aug 2023 for our annual family get together. 3 generations. The kids loved the pool and the adults loved the hot tub. The huge garden hosted a family football match and the views were stunning. Arwel was a fab host and hand to help with anything. We had a motor issue and both Arwel and his son came to the rescue. Amazing week, will certainly look to return.

A warm and friendly welcome from Arlwel (Owner), the homemade chocolate cake was an added bonus.

The views of the countryside were amazing. The house had everything you needed , though I must say at times it was a little chilly but not too cold to light the log burner so I recommend some cosy blankets. The beds were very comfortable. My whole family loved the pool and the hot tub. We even managed to enjoy a couple days of family fun games in the garden, as we stayed over Easter, my younger grandchildren loved the Easter egg hunt we did in the garden. We all had a fantastic time at Tynewdd and one day we would love to return. Thank you to Arlwel Jones for being a lovely host . Sharon

Myself and 14 family members stayed at this lovely cottage to celebrate the January birthdays.

We had a wonderful stay and the cottage was gorgeous! Couldn’t fault it. The pool was a great size and the hot tub was amazing. Plenty of space for us all and had everything we need. The hosts were great and responded to any requests/queries. Would definitely return!

This was a Christmas holiday week away with 12 Adults and 1 child and 1 baby.

The house was in a lovely remote part of the Welsh countryside, which is what we wanted. The house was huge and we never felt on top of each other. We pre-ordered our food to be delivered. We wouldnt do that again. This was a mistake as many items were not available. There was a beautiful decorated Xmas tree and some lovely garlands around the fireplaces. The house had a lovely Christmas feel. The pool was a tad on the cold side but was used a couple of times. But the big winners for us was the massive hot tub and the pool table in the games room. My only criticism was that maybe a rubber mat or carpet runner would have helped around the pool table, as sometimes the ball could come off the table and damage the ceramic tiles. The bathrooms were all lovely and clean and the showers were lovely and powerful. The family bathroom was as big as a ballroom! All the bedrooms were tidy and bedding up to standard. One bed room had a little mould but other than that all the sleeping arrangements were met. There was plenty of space with a huge fridge/freezer and a washer dryer. The kitchen was large but getting a bit tired. The 2 dishwashers were great and in constant use! The toaster needs replacing as it took about 20 mins to do 2 slices and the utensils also need updating. We struggled to carved the meat. Also a few of the glass items had chips in and we struggled with the door and temperature on the oven. Overall, we had a lovely time and the area was beautiful and we would definitely go again. Next time we would go in the summer so we could take full advantage of the extensive grounds. The owner was also very helpful and accommodating. We would definitely recommend.

This lovely old extended property worked well for the 15 of us staying for 3 nights but it would have been really helpful to have seen a floor plan of bedrooms when I booked, to know where to sleep the different age ranges & family groupings.

The bedroom walls were quite thin & one of our party had a bad cough which kept others awake. I'd recommend taking earplugs! The cooker dials have no numbers on them, particularly the ovens: they have been rubbed off over the years. If I'd had a manual it might have been easier to judge temperatures and to see how the left hand oven/grill worked. It was very much 'hope for the best' which wasn't easy as I was cooking lasagnes & garlic bread for one meal. Also, when putting the right hand or left hand 'small hobs on, the large hobs came on at the same time! We washed drinking glasses by hand after managing to break 4 in the dishwasher. There was a drying rack, but no water catching tray to put under it so we put towels underneath & kept rotating them. There were no cords to be able to close the venetian blinds in the kitchen & dining areas. Not a problem in the winter, but when bright sunlight is streaming in...? The indoor pool, with the shower right next to it (again, a floor plan might have been handy, to know this?) was very popular with the youngsters in our party. The outdoor hot tub was accessed via the pool area & was lovely to use. I'm sorry that this all sounds quite negative, but the above are all things that I would like feedback on if I were running the place. A 3 night stay is not nearly long enough to do this beautifully situated property justice. We'd definitely return, but for at least a week next time .And at a warmer time of the year, to take full advantage of all the other outdoor activities supplied by the owners.

Just returned from a weekend with the family omg amazing the whole experience the owner was there to greet us and show us how everything worked etc loads of storage in the kitchen.

Eveything you needed the there equipment wise the other thing missing was an air fryer the other thing I would say that would of completed the stay no christmas tree, it evened snowed whilst we were there the kids and adults loved it

The property is absolutely stunning, in a beautiful and secluded area.

The house is pristine with all that you could possibly need. Plenty of towels, hand wash, tea towel, toilet roll etc and an abundance of utensils and crockery in the kitchen. The pool and hot tub are both immaculate. Highly recommend this beautiful house.

Beautiful place in lovely surroundings. House was very clean with excellent facilities. We were 14 adults and a child. There was ample room. Will definitely return and recommend.

This holiday home was amazing, from the beautifully designed and stocked kitchen to the gorgeous indoor pool, we went with 4 kids from 7 - 15 years and they all loved the place, the pool table was a big hit and the shed full of outdoor toys was a magical touch and made the kids time out in the amazing garden even more fun.

The house is very spacious and warm with gorgeous views from every window, the owners were fantastic we can't thank them enough for sharing their beautiful home and grounds with us, we had an amazing holiday in Wales.

The pictures don't do it justice. it's absolutely beautiful with loads to do. It is very very well equipped with everything and more that you would need. Owner was very friendly too.

This was the best holiday cottage I have ever booked.

The kitchen very well equipped and the whole cottage was a high standard of cleanliness. The pool and the jacuzzi were a bonus and so well looked after. There was a friendly welcome and explanation of house keys, use of pool and jacuzzi and recycle. I cannot recommend this highly enough. It is highly likely we will return. The directions to the cottage worked extremely well for all the car drivers.

Property very warm and welcoming with fires lit and heating on. Well equipped for cooking for large family gathering and very comfy beds. Children loved the swimming pool and adults loved the hot tub.

My family enjoyed our stay at Ty Newydd.

The owners were lovely and even made us a delicious Chocolate cake for our arrival. The property is old and 'draughty' in places but had everything a family could need for a fun week away. The pool was great and the hot tub was the best we have been in. The weather was very changeable but it didn't spoil our visits to the castle, the Lake and the ride on the steam train. I would definitely recommend this property for a large family party.

Fantastic property for a family get together.

Lovely quiet and remote location, everything you need provided at the property. Heated swimming pool and hot tub was great for both kids and adults. Large grounds for outdoor games, indoor games room as well. Very friendly and welcoming host who visited daily to make sure all was ok. Had a fantastic week!!

The property and owners helped us make fantastic memories and my father in law 70th was marked with laughter and smiles. Nothing was too much trouble and we were welcomed with such warmth and kindness. Absolutely love it and never want to leave.

Had a lovely family weekend owner made us very welcome & when we had Wi-Fi issues he was on hand to sort straight away.

Property well equipped with all we needed, swimming pool, hot tub & games room kept us all entertained throughout. Kitchen appliances all to hand to cook a lovely meal for all. Comfortable bedrooms, whole house clean & tidy, huge garden for morning walk & children to play, would recommend highly.

This was our second holiday at Ty Newydd,on arrival we were warmly greeted by Arwel and to our surprise a lovely large cake had been made for us.

The property was very clean and warm and well equipped,the swimming pool was a firm favourite with the children and adults too.the hot tub was well used especially by the ladies. All in all this spacious property has everything a large family would need and we look forward to returning to Ty Newydd very soon.

Just had a fabulous week at Ty Newydd.

The property has everything you needed and more. Pool and hot tub fantastic and was great to be able to use at any time of the day. The garden was brilliant for the toddlers,p they were able to run off all their energy. Was greeted by Arwell who showed us around and was on the end of the phone if needed. Fridge was very kindly stocked with milk and there was tea and coffee available to have with a gorgeous sponge cake, which was left ready for us. All the extra items that were left were greatly appreciated. Thank you for everything

The holiday cottage was fantastic, it was very clean well equipped with everything you need.

The hot tub was the best we had ever had and the pool was serviced every day. I would certainly book this cottage again with no hesitation, it also has lots for the young people to do the owners have really thought of everything. The Phillipson and Bradshaw was very pleased and had a lovely time.

WOW!

What an absolutely fantastic holiday house Ty Newydd is. It was spotlessly clean everywhere when we arrived, and was perfectly equipped for every possible requirement. A real home from home. On arrival we were welcomed and shown around with all information we needed, and who could forget the delicious sponge cake, such a lovely touch. As for facilities, the swimming pool and hot tub was amazing, our toddler granddaughter had such fun in the pool, as did we all. The outside space was huge with plenty to do, badminton, table tennis etc. and many areas to sit in and walk around. We are a family of 13 plus a toddler, and the sleeping and bathroom space and facilities was more than adequate. This was by far the BEST house we have ever stayed in, thank you and congratulations to Arwel and Dell, for their friendliness (and arranging beautiful weather), but also their cleaning staff for maintaining such high standards, it made our holiday, and we are looking to book again for next year. The house was very welcoming and had plenty of space.

Even though we had a touch of rain the pool was inside with direct access through games room. The outside garden was great as it was large and had two football nets and a badminton net. The kitchen was very well equipped and could easily cater for larger parties than ours. Great place for a large family to come. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

My family self and wife our three adult children and spouses and our seven grandchildren from 5 months to eleven years old were all kept well entertained throughout our whole stay and we used many of the excellent facilities for games and fun.

In particular the indoor pool was essential when the weather was poor. The kitchen was very well equipped and there was ample storage space in fridge-freezer and cupboards. The two reception rooms were ideal to allow TV watching in one and reading or chatting in the other.

This was a family holiday with 13 of us varying in age from 18 months to 73 years old and Ty Newydd was perfect for us all.

The house is fabulous, clean and spacious, the pool was in use every morning and evening as was the hot tub on the patio. The garden had quiet spots if you wanted 5 minutes quiet but the "field" was amazing with football nets, badminton and every size of ball, bat, raquet ......something for everyone....and did I mention the games room with pool and tablefootball. What a fabulous place! The owners are lovely, couldn't be more helpful.

Highly recommend this cottage, the owner (Arwel) was very welcoming and took us on a tour of the property upon arrival which was very helpful.

The house was very clean and tidy with plenty of crockery and kitchen/bbq utensils. The facilities were outstanding, especially the pool, games room, hot tub and variety of outdoor games. We were a group of friends between the ages of 25-32 and we wished we'd booked a longer trip. Would definitely book again next year!

Excellent property, grounds and facilities, with great attention to detail.

Owner was very welcoming and attentive. Would recommend this property to anyone with adults and children of mixed ages. So much for everyone with games room, pool, hot tub and massive garden. We had a wonderful long weekend break no one wanted to go.

We’ve just had a wonderful week long break at Ty Newydd and would highly recommend this cottage to any prospective visitors.

The cottage is set in stunning spacious grounds and has every amenity you could wish for. We were there for a week but barely left the cottage because there was so much to keep the children and adults entertained! The owners are super friendly and welcomed us with a fresh home baked cake. They have taken great care in decorating the property and have used high quality furnishings throughout. We hope to visit again some day.

We had an excellent time at Ty-Newydd!

Arwel met us on arrival and showed us around personally. Everywhere was clean, neat and tidy. There was a generous supply of all crockery, glassware and crockery - and an equally generous starter pack of logs for the log burner in the living room. The house was warm and cosy, even though outside temperatures fell to -2 overnight. The pool and hot tub were also warm and clean - thank you! There was a generous amount of space for up to 14 occupants and the beds and bedding were of a very high quality. Happy to answer questions from any prospective guests.

We had the most wonderful New Years Eve break the owners were there on arrival and very welcomining and had left a homemade cake.

The property had everything we needed the kids loved the pool and us adults the hot tub. Just what we needed for a group family get away. Lots of space for everyone and would highly recommend to anyone we will be visiting again!

Another wonderful family holiday at Ty Newydd.

Such a spacious property it is perfect for all ages. We all enjoyed the pool every day and our 3 year old grandson improved his water skills immensely and thoroughly enjoyed the huge garden. Family meals on a “come dine with me” basis were amazing as we have never seen such a well equipped kitchen. Perfect hosts, perfect house. We will be back.

We really enjoyed our stay at Ty Newydd,the property is a great size,swimming pool was a big plus especially for the children,so was the garden,It had all the things required for a weeks stay.

Spotlessly clean and tidy. The owners are only a phone call away if required,On our last day we had a lovely cooked breakfast at the owners property down the lane which was a bonus,just wished we had realised it earlier. We were also well positioned for trips out,such as lake Vyrnwy,Powis castle and a pumpkin farm nearby which turned out to be a winner with the children as it was Halloween. On our return we booked again for next year.

Amazing property especially for large group family or friends.

Beautiful peaceful place.Family had a great time, so much for then to do outside and in! Owners could not be more helpful.Beautiful scenery and the house has everything you need. Could not recommend it more. We will be back!!! ...and we will be recommending this to our friends .

The house was more than we expected, we even had a lovely home made Victoria sandwich cake to welcome us.

The bedrooms were lovely and clean, well presented, the living rooms were very comfortable, the kitchen had every utensil you could want to make cooking food a good experience especially when your on holiday. The games room with the pool table and footie table were in good condition as was the pool. the hot tub was fantastic lovely and warm, the football pitch was a god send to my family of footballing boys, plus all the other amenities We had a fantastic time and will definitely go again.

Cottage is lovely but needs a bit of maintenance tlc in some areas. Pool, hot tub and games room was a great hit, used constantly by all. WiFi is very poor and signal for mobiles is hit and miss. Lovely towels provided but glad we took more as with children in the pool used so many and the tumble dryer was well used. Remember to take toilets rolls/cleaner, washing up liquid and cleaning stuff as you soon get through what little is provided if you have a full house. Would definitely recommend planning ahead for your days out, steam train nearby but was fully booked, Powis Castle great place, Barmouth beach is sandy and has small fun fair.

Had a great time with our extended family, the house was spotless everything worked, pool and hot tub were definitely the highlights.

Thanks for providing the Scrabble board which helped keep us busy. (And the chocolate cake was delicious).

The property was perfect for our two young families with plenty of space and everything we needed.

It was very clean, warm and comfortable, and the homemade cake on arrival was a lovely touch. And we loved being able to go out for homemade meals at the farmhouse a short walk away - a huge bonus when you have small children!

An amazing experience for all the family.

Relaxing rural area, wonderful indoor space, ideal for large families. All our holiday needs were met. Wonderful outdoor spaces for children to play and adults to chill. Pool and hot tub ensured that there was always something to do. Hosts Arwel and Dee friendly and helpful- many thanks for the yummy cake. Can’t recommend enough. Ideal location, great facilities and peaceful surroundings.

Lovely house which was very clean and well equipped with friendly owners in a beautiful rural location, absolutely no negative points.

Lake Vyrnwy which is close by is a must see.

Incredible place!

The owner was so friendly and helpful, it immediately felt like home from home. The house was clean, well-equipped and spacious, and is in a beautiful location!

We booked this as a family get away to celebrate my mums 60th birthday.

Mr Jones met us on arrival & showed us around - what a beautiful place! It was spotless, had everything we needed and more, there was also a victoria sponge cake left for us which was a lovely touch. The bedrooms are all a good size and the bathroom with corner bath is amazing! The children enjoyed the swimming pool & the adults the hot tub, the one thing we would say which would be a great addition is maybe some non slip mats around the swimming pool like there is around the hot tub - this isn’t a negative point or criticism in any way, we just had a few slips by the children so may be something worth looking in to. Absolutely great break away in a lovely location with a really friendly owner - we hope to return one day!

It is a perfect property for a large family group.

Lots of living space and the pool and hot tub are immaculate. A great garden, so lots of freedom for the children. The whole house is extremely well equipped and for our visit in the Autumn, lovely and comfortable.

Ty Newydd is a lovely, spacious house.

The pleasant owner was there to greet us when we arrived and showed us around the property and his wife had baked a lovely Victoria sponge for us on arrival which we all really appreciated. He then left us to sort ourselves out. Our family party of ten consisting of an age range of 10 years to 73 years and we all had a good time. It can certainly be said that the swimming pool and hot tub were a great attraction for all ages! The only difficulty I personally encountered was the stairs as I have a severe health problem and unfortunately there was no downstairs bedroom. The owner did advise that a separate 1-bedroom bungalow on site which may have been available at the time of booking but sadly we were not advised of this facility by Sykes.

This was a perfect house for us in the most beautiful countryside.

There was plenty to keep the children entertained and spacious enough for our joint activities but at the same time people could always find a quiet area to have some 'down time'. The owner was very helpful especially when we needed to find a doctor for the baby. I would definitely return.

10 of us enjoyed a week at Ty Newydd in June 2019 and had a great time.

The house was spacious with everything you'd ever need. The pool and hot tub were fantastic. Football nets and a badminton net had already been set up on the field at the rear of the house and we were greeted with a lovely Victoria sponge left by the owner who attended every morning to deal with the pool and hot tub Whilst the property is in a very rural area we didn't mind this as we all wanted a relaxing break and we've always amused ourselves with quiz nights, fancy dress disco and family games. I would recommend Ty Newydd for a great getaway.

An amazing place in lovely location If I was forced to be picky, we all forgot our hairdryers and I am sure if we had asked they would have provided one as they are very accommodating but one available would be good.

We were a bit late and they very kindly received and packed away our online grocery order. Absolutely brilliant place to have a family get together.

This is an amazing house with fabulous facilities and friendly helpful owners.

I visited as a party of girls for my birthday and loved every minute. The house is beautifully presented (the home made cake was a very nice touch), with enough space to spread out. The pool and hot tub were the highlight!!! We were able to arrange transport into the nearest town on one of the days which was nice. Couldn't recommend this listing highly enough.

What a beautiful house.

.!! it had everything we needed for a family weekend getaway, the house was so well equiped and the pool and hot tub were fantastic features for the whole family, the house comfortably fitted our family of 15 (11 Adults 4 children) even at breakfast and mealtimes we could all eat together, the decor is lovely and homely and comfortable too, we have all said we would love to go back for a longer stay preferably in the summer ha! The owners were very pleasant and welcoming and there was a beautiful homemade cake ready and waiting for us when we arrived which was a lovely personal touch.

The cottage was well equipped and comfortable.

The location was rural, but close to a small town. Sat Nav took us through a lot of one track lanes, which was quite unnerving at times, but if you follow the directions on the information sheet, it is easier to reach. Pool and hot tub were well maintained through the week and the games room was great for the children. Beds were comfortable and en suite and master bathroom very well appointed and clean.

We have stayed at this location before & wanted to come back as a group for new year.

The owner is very pleasant & met us on arrival with mince pies freshly made ! The house is very clean, has excellent facilities and plenty of things to do in the garden (sports facilities) plus the lovely pool & hot tub. Will certainly recommend the location & Sykes with a view to possibly booking again in the future

We wanted to celebrate my 70th birthday with my family all together so we chose Ty-Newydd as it provided the spacious living accommodation and facilities that we needed.

It did not disappoint us . From the very first moment we arrived we knew that this was the right place. All of the bedrooms were spacious and the beds comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped for our party size, and the two lounges were comfortably furnished. As the weather was not too good during our stay the swimming pool and games room provided the children with hours of fun. During the odd breaks in the weather they loved playing outside on the football pitch, while the grown ups enjoyed a bit of peace in the hot tub. Lovely views surrounded the property. I have to thank the owners for providing a lovely cake for me. Many thanks for a lovely birthday weekend.

A great place for friends to get together.

There was 9 of us and we loved the cottage / pool / hot tub. Really well equipped, lovely beds / bedding. Would recommend!

This has to be the best property we have stayed in for our annual family holiday.

From the moment we arrived we were made very welcome by the owners who made sure that our stay was very memorable. During their daily visits to check the condition of the water in the pool and hot tub they were only too happy to stop and make sure we had everything we needed. The Victoria Sponge Cake on arrival was delicious and the well stocked kitchen meant we never ran out of crockery or cooking utensils. The cottage itself is beautifully decorated and very comfortable, the spacious bedrooms were all made up and there were plenty of towels left out for our family of 12. The 7 children who hadn’t been told about the swimming pool or hot tub couldn’t wait to get into their swimming costumes and would have been quite happy to spend the whole holiday in one or the other had we let them! The large paddock to the rear of the cottage and the games room meant that the children had somewhere else to play, explore and let off steam. We also made good use of the BBQ and patio areas during the evenings. Thanks for a perfect stay in a fabulous cottage which we can thoroughly recommend.

The house was exactly as advertised and more. We always had something to do and all 4 generations of my family were entertained the whole time. This holiday home is by far the best holiday accommodation we have stayed in.

Large and comfortable with lovely swimming pool and jacuzzi. We also had use of the one bedroomed cottage on site which had it's own jacuzzi. There is a huge garden for children to run around safely in with a range of football's raquets etc to use. It is deep in the countryside but there are lots of places to visit. The owner came to check pool and Jacuzzis every day and he is very helpful and approachable. A great holiday.

Excellent accommodation for large groups and families. Hot tub, indoor swimming pool and games room are a real bonus! Tub and pool well maintained and kept at a good temperature. Very well equipped kitchen and all rooms extremely comfortable. We would highly recommend this property!

The holiday cottage was magnificent, our group had such a great time there.

The property owners were fantastic and met us on arrival with a cake and showed us around. The house was so well equipped for 15 of us, so much room and fun things to do. Our only snag was with Sykes for being misleading on their site about the number of beds, when trying challenge this situation and find resolution communication was poor and very slow! Luckily I got passed directly to the property owner who solved the problem.

We cannot book this house again as the indoor pool heat in November made it unusable by the birthday boy himself.

The house was lovely, the rooms were well decorated and everything in working order. The grounds were well kept and although we had our break in November we did sit outside at the various seating areas provided. There was ample crockery and cooking utensils and the house was very well heated. Our only negative, and the reason we could not use the house again, was the temperature of the indoor pool. It was Freezing Cold no matter when used and we kept it covered when not in use. We asked for the temperature to be increased on the second day but were told that was not an option.

We were a party of 16.

....10 adults 6 children. It was perfect holiday, spacious rooms, entertaining rooms and plenty to do. We met Arwell and his wife who were lovely and welcoming with a sponge cake....the best we have had! Children were entertained with pool, games room and outdoor games...and adults with hot tub and outdoor games. Absolutely fabulous holiday and cannot think of any negatives. The cottage was clean and homely....would definitely recommend and use again.

We stayed fri-mon and loved every second of the cottage, it was so clean spacious and the owners where so friendly.

Would 100% stay again we loved it!!! Only feedback I would give is maybe build something for the hot tub that would shelter you from the rain.

Beautiful house with everything you could possibly want. Outstanding views and plenty of space for the children to play football on. The house itself was beautiful. All finished to a high standard, clean and well furnished. Lots of space so everyone is not on top of each other. Owners were welcoming and nothing seemed too much trouble. A loaf of Bara Brith was waiting on arrival. Would definitely visit again.

One of the very best properties we have ever stayed at for our annual family holiday.

By far the most comfortable beds. The owners have equipped the kitchen better than expected with so much crockery and cutlery we never ran out of anything. 2 kettles perfect as were the 2 dishwashers. The ideal place to spend a week enjoying each others company, great family meals, games both indoors and outside in the enormous garden, the superb swimming pool being private was perfect especially for the younger ones while the Hot Tub was very relaxing for the older ones. The owners were very welcoming and not at all intrusive and the home made sponge cake to welcome us was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Our type of holiday is to chill out together in a spacious holiday home with the option to play games so the games room was a great success as were the outside games and the Easter Bunny did a grand job hiding so many eggs in the picturesque garden. Countryside views, the calls of the pheasants and the geese and ducks on the pond were a delight and the owls in the nesting box a special treat. Our only day out was to Vrynwy Lake which was beautiful.

Very well equipped "cottage".

I was expecting a small multi games table but the table tennis seemed full size. Hot tub was terrific. We were a party of 12 with ages ranging from 78 - 7. On entering the cottage the sheer space and finish has a real wow factor. The leather settees are a little slippery.....tend to slide off them but apart from that it was great. The kitchen was excellent for our Xmas stay. The owners are attentive and friendly without being in any way intrusive. I would thoroughly recommend the cottage. The only reason we have said we would not return is that we have "done" that area now.....or at least with the group that we went with, as the scenery, albeit stunning, is a bit demanding for pensioners to appreciate on foot.

We booked the cottage for a last minute getaway for the August Bank Holiday weekend.

The exterior of the cottage and the grounds are actually much more beautiful than they appear in the photos. Arwel [ one of the owners] was very welcoming and spent time showing us all around. His wife had left a delicious cake to welcome us. Apparently we were the first to stay at the cottage and I must say that they have done done a splendid job in furnishing the property.The kitchen is well equipped and the bedrooms and bathrooms are lovely. The 10 of us had plenty of space and enjoyed the swimming pool and hot tub. One request would be to provide pool towels. We enjoyed playing rounders and archery in the large garden and had a wonderful barbecue one evening. We definitely plan to return !!
