Minffordd is a very comfortable and a very clean holiday cottage situated in what must be one of the most beautiful parts of Wales.

The cottage had everything we needed: an excellent kitchen, spacious and comfortable bedrooms, a good television set, and a tidy front room. We really enjoyed our stay there. The owner of the cottage kept in touch with us to make sure that we had everything we needed and that we were all right.

Minffordd The cottage was warm, comfortable and clean.

Tea, coffee, sugar and welsh biscuits were waiting for us. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. Washing up liquid, cleaning materials, cloths, sponges etc provided too. Excellent storage for all our needs, plenty of coat hangers, hair dryer. Plenty of hot water, great after a days walking. Toilet rolls, hand soap, towels provided. Up to date local information and hosts telephone numbers at hand. Easy to park, felt like home from home. Handy for pub, if you don't feel like cooking or staying in. Convenient bus stop. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others.

Great holiday cottage in a lovely quiet village setting.

Well equipped home with everything you could possibly need. Well equipped Family sized kitchen/diner and cosy sitting room with TV, Freesat box and DVD player. Master bedroom very spacious with three sided views over surrounding countryside. Lovely comfortable bed and if the weather is right, a great sunny room! There is a Downstairs cloakroom which is a bonus, but only the main family bathroom which could be a slight drawback if two couples were sharing, but no problem for us as we were on our own. Other double and single rooms both comfortably equipped (although, of course, we didn’t sample them as we were on our own!) Nice home from home and we would thoroughly recommend it. Easy private parking, can accommodate two cars if parked properly.

We recently stayed at this delightful cottage for three nights with our family, and it was an exceptional experience.

The accommodation is perfectly suited for families, offering a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The cottage was impeccably clean, and every detail was thoughtfully attended to, ensuring a pleasant and relaxing stay. The picturesque scenery surrounding the cottage is absolutely breathtaking. We enjoyed lovely walks around the village, taking in the natural beauty and tranquillity of the area. The peaceful setting provided a much-needed escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. We highly recommend this cottage to families looking for a serene and scenic retreat.

The local Inn has excellent food and friendly atmosphere. Cottage is comfortable but could do with updating. Can be an awkward to share the one bathroom if many are staying. The front flower border needs attention as quite over grown.

Our second visit to Minfordd was just as good as the first.

It's an excellent cottage with all the facilities you need. The new cooker is easy to use and having a cloakroom downstairs is very handy. When a minor issue arose the owner, Rosemary, responded promptly and made helpful suggestions as to how to manage. The only down side was that the West Arms is closed for refurbishment, but that isn't the fault of the cottage. Hopefully it's only temporary! Llanarmon is a good centre for getting out and about. We found plenty to do and places to visit, and there are still some paths we haven't explored. Meeting the Recycling collection truck down a single track road just adds to the fun.

The cottage had everything we needed, plenty of storage space, comfy bed and settee, attractively furnished, lots of useful maps and books.

..modernised yet cosy in an excellent location, near to 2 great pubs and lots of walking opportunities.

It’s was a lovely cottage & suited our need for exploring wales.

If u don’t like single track roads I suggest u start all your journeys from Chirk as suggested in the property details from Mrs Seddon it was invaluable. The house was clean & warm & had everything we needed to prepare meals. Two pubs in the village. We went in the hand on the Friday we arrived for a drink & enquired about booking a table for the Saturday but was not given an answer. So we had our drink & left. We also went to the west arms & was treated very differently needless to say we ate at the west arms & had a lovely meal in a good atmosphere.

The owner, Rosemary, is very good with communication the week before your stay.

I would definitely say follow her directions so that you arrive at the cottage via Chirk, as the road is so much better. Even if you have to travel 10 minutes out of your way to do so. On arrival we had to knock on the neighbour's door and ask them to move from the dedicated parking spot for the cottage.... not a great start. (Even though Rosemary said this might happen.) When entering the property there was an overwhelming smell of cigarettes. The property is advertised as non-smoking. We had to go out and buy air freshener to try and get rid of it. The bed that we slept in was very comfortable, and the room is very quiet, even though it faces out onto the lane, which can get very busy with vehicles racing up it. Be careful when stepping out of the door. You will need to keep your wits about you. For us, the property was centrally located for the area that we wanted to see. And if you get the chance, go and eat at 'The Swan ' fantastic food but be warned you will need to be starving when you go as the portions are immense!! 'The Raven' at Welshpool is also very good. Once again on our penultimate day, there was problems with parking. After a long day out and about the last thing you want to be doing is walking around the village trying to find the owner, who was subsequently sitting in the pub, and was too drunk to move his vehicle, so the landlord had to move it for him. Not only this, but at 1am they decide to start shouting about and using the hot tub. (Obviously another holiday let next door) For us, it put a bit of a dampener on our 'relaxing' week, but overall, it was ok. We did bump into a chap who was mowing the lawns who was very understanding to our parking plight, and we did have a laugh. A very nice local!

Minfordd is a great place to stay (and we've stayed in some that weren't, so know the pitfalls).

Llanarmon is a quiet village and in the middle of nowhere but with 2 good pubs, friendly locals and good walking opportunities. The cottage itself is clean, well-equipped and comfortable. The owner is caring and makes contact before and during the stay to ensure everything is OK. I would definitely recommend this as a place to recharge the batteries.

Beautiful cottage in a lovely village.

Owner keeps you informed with regular contact prior to the holiday and very quick to respond to any contact. Lots of interesting attractions within easy travelling distance. Two very good pubs within 100 yards, but would recommend booking ahead if you want to eat at either as they get very busy.

Property is in a beautiful location lovely quiet village with 2 great pubs.

Cottage was comfortable and good facilities the bathroom and kitchen could do with a deep clean, and the outside windows. I wouldn’t recommend this property for children it has no garden and it is directly on the road. Once your in the property there is no outdoor space. I think this needs to be updated on description because picture 17 shows a fenced cottage we where disappointed on arrival.

Minffordd cottage was a delight to stay in, we had everything we needed in the property itself and the owners of the nearby The Hand pub were very nice and helpful.

We did have one day after a drive out where we were close to running out of petrol and the nearest petrol station was a 20-minute drive away, so I'd say just be careful to make sure you keep topped up for those hilly roads. The guest information in the cottage was really good and as a family of 5 with children aged from 13 down to 7, the sunny day spent at nearby Llangollen was delightful. I couldn't recommend Minffordd highly enough; thank you for a great stay.

We enjoyed our stay at Minffordd.

The location was in a stunning valley and there were plenty of walks from the property if you didn't feel like driving every day. There were maps and walking guides with helpful advice in the cottage and it was a very comfortable, well equipped property to return to at the end of each day. The two pubs in the village were both good and we also ventured further afield to visit Lake Vyrnwy and the canal aqueducts and castle at Chirk. Altogether a beautiful part of Wales which we hadn't previously visited.

It was so good to come back to this comfortable house after a day's walking.

Llanarmon is an ideal base for varied walks. Good food to be had at both The Hand and the West Arms in Llanarmon but also Asda and Sainsbury's will deliver! All fittings and furniture in Minffordd are good quality and it was great to have a warm cupboard for drying waterproofs that got wet on the one day we had rain. The very helpful owner soon rang us about a query we had on arrival even thought the problem turned out to be of our own making!! Thank you.
