Dalnahaven

Although the house was comfortable and clean, there were many items that needed attention.

The lounge - 3 positions on the couches were severely worn; the wooden step down was badly scuffed; the mats were worn at the corners. The kitchen - several scuffs on cupboards could have been remedied; the dishwasher door sprang back when opened and the cutlery container needs to be changed. I spent 10 minutes looking for the toilet lightswitch, only to discover it was automatic, then it stayed on for too long; the tap was very stiff and both it and the toilet pushbutton were tatty. The front door was stiff to open. The light in the rear hallway went off when you stepped into the hallway, then came on after the rear door was opened. The overall decor was a mix of old and new that did not impress.

Very good location as a base, local shops,pub and food outlets on your door step, lots of good places to walk or drive to visit, the owners was very helpful as I am disabled and need parking for my trailer, and go permission to park it round the back, as we visit different parts of the highlands every year, would go back again if visiting around there again

Ideal location for us, as we visit Grantown often to visit our family, especially during school holidays.

We need a home from home which is what Dalnahaven is.

This was our second visit and again property was clean and well appointed.

Close to town centre so handy for supplies and local pubs and restaurants. On street parking which on a evening is not a problem as street is usually empty put during day can be busy due to vets and day visitors to town but not a issue.

This is our second time at Dalnahaven and won't be our last.

The owners are so kind leaving little treats and cottage so comfortable and spotless with plenty of little comforts . The situation of cottage so near shops , restaurants and pubs which us very convenient as we are elderly . Lots of lively walks and places to visit . Highly recommended by us . The holiday was great.

even though the weather was a bit against us.But that's Scotland in winter as we know several times.But when it is bad and we stay in there's not enough of different channels on TV.esp.in bedroom .We came to dalnhaven before Nov 2019. It was even colder then most nights snow /ice and -10 Deg.The cottage is comfy cold when heating not on.but other heaters was available.The bedroom windows esp.could do with replacing cold draft comes through esp.in master b/room .But we will definitely use it again.Many thanks.

We’ve just come back from a lovely stay in the cottage , the owners were in hand with a problem we had when dishwasher stopped working .

They tried to sort and were very keen to try sort it out. The cottage itself has all the equipment you could want. Lots of instructions every where to help. Very clean and tidy , they have even gone the extra mile with putting in the dishwasher and washing tablets to assist your holiday . On arrival there was a pint of milk, bottle of fizz and a basket of treats for everyone and if you had a dog traveling with you there was even the bowls for them to use and treats for them. Really lovely touches . Parking is on the road and this caused us no problems as was always able to park outside the cottage . The pub around the corner is friendly for an evening drink and the Indian and fish and chip shop have amazing food . Recommend th Indian paying cash saves you10percent !! Would easily return . Easy to visit Nessy, Pitlochry, Inverness, Fort William and many more .

This was our third time to Dalnahaven and as always we found the property perfect and it was so nice to meet Jacki in person a really lovely lady thanks Jacki and Campbell see you next year

We had a wonderful stay at Dalnhaven Cottage.

The cottage was wonderful we have stayed in many cottages, but there was something about Dalnhaven that was special. Jacki the owner was wonderful to speak too and helpful. And we had a lovely arrival pack. And Granton on Spey is a wonderful little village. And there was plenty of lovely walks for our dog. A big thank you to the owners Jacki & Campbell. Will definitely be back.

Fantastic accommodation and location

We really enjoyed Dalnahaven, it was comfortable well equipped and very spacious.

it's location in Grantown on Spey was close to Cairngorms National Park which we loved! Oh and and on the Speyside Malt Whisky Distillery trail. A small point but I guess the kitchen tap could do with some adjustment!

it's the fourth time i've stayed there, and it certainly won't be the last i love it, there is nothing that i can fault in the cottage, and the owners, Jacki and Ca,mpbell, have done a great job to ensure we have evry possible luxury we have at home, i'll be back next year

Dalnahaven was a great property for our stay.

All you need for a relaxing holiday.

Ideally situated for exploring surrounding areas

We were really pleased with the accommodation and it was the perfect base for us to explore and photograph Scotland's wildlife.

At long last I have now seen and photographed a mountain hare in its winter plumage. Also, we were only a few paces from the local shops.

The property was excellent, we loved it and would definitely stay here again if we came to Grantown in the future

This property is just perfect.

We have no complaints at all. The area is great for walking and touring. A walk to the river Spey was a daily treat for us.

The cottage is ideally situated as a base to explore the Cairngorms and the many activities available.

Comfortable and well equipped it provides everything you need for an enjoyable holiday. Walking trails are available on your doorstep as well as all the hospitality of Grantown-on-Spey. We travelled with our dog and the location was ideal for all of his walks. We have stayed at many Sykes cottages and this one certainly will be added to our favourites list. One small improvement would be to the speed of the broadband connection which does not really meet current expectations.

A very comfortable cottage with good facilities and kitchen was fine for cooking evening meals.

Garden shed was available and had plenty of room to store two bicycles.

Excellent cottage, Dalnahaven is very central, and a stones throw from the forest trails, ideal if you have a dog, lovely hotels with great food.

Possibly my favourite holiday cottage so far , i love it there it's a beautiful bungalow, situated in a beautiful town , in an area of stunning natural beauty, Jacki and Campbell have made a fantastic holiday home for anyone lucky enough to stay there

The cottage was so comfy like home from home .

There was lots of nice treats on our arrival . It is situated in the perfect place , close to shops, restaurants and pubs . Also plenty of walking trails . Hopefully we can go back again and we highly recommend a visit. Jacky a lovely caring lady . Our dog had plenty of garden to roam around in and very secure . Thank you Jacky and Campbell.

Absolutely fantastic property, everything you could possibly wish for - the equipment was of a high standard as was the bedding and towels.

It was extremely comfortable throughout. It's central location is perfect, dog walks just a short walk away, amenities literally just up the road. What a find this property was for us - we'll definitely be returning soon. The communication from the owners was excellent and there was a lovely welcome pack for us and our dogs. Just Fabulous. Close to everything, grocery store, petrol station, town square where stores are plentiful for all your needs and whims. Easy access to highways to any direction you might want to go. Overall, Dalnahaven is a great place to stay. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

We loved Dalnahaven.

It was spotlessly clean, well maintained with quality furniture throughout the property. The owners were very helpful and on hand if needed. Grantown is a lovely place to stay with lots of things to do and see in the area.

The house was just right and a great location ,everything was at your doorstep .

The holiday at Dalnahaven was great, it is like a home from home , it is id eal for the dog walking in the woods.

Located just of the main street it's ideal for shops, restaurants and local facilities. A five minutes walk to local woodland walks and the Speyside Way. It's become our Highland home from home.

We found Dulnahaven very comfortable and Jacki kept in touch to see how things were and we appreciated the welcome pack as did my hearing dog Peanut loved the treats we have booked to come back next year

A great stay.

Everything you need is there. Plenty of room, comfortable beds and seating. Just round the corner from the High Street and the golf course so an ideal place to stay. So many other attractions nearby. 2nd time there and would come back again.

We were impressed with the communication from the owners, they contacted us by text as we travelled to the cottage, giving us all the information we needed to enter the cottage.

We found it spotlessly clean and tidy with all the facilities as advertised. A lovely welcome pack gave us all we needed until we could shop. Had a great time in Grantown-On-Spey which has a variety of pubs, hotels and local shops. Will definitely recommend the cottage to others.

Lovely clean comfy cottage well stocked coop over road.

Ideal base for touring the highlands. Had a fantastic meal at the Sundancer in Nairn. Parking was fine in the evening but could be a bit of problem in the daytime. Was very surprised to be asked to strip beds we have never had this in 40 years of this type of holiday.

We had a lovely week at Dalnahaven, the bungalow is everything you would want from a holiday rental.

The property was spotlessly clean, well equipped and very comfortable. Our dog loved the enclosed garden which was lovely to sit out after a day'.s outing and enjoy an early evening drink, weather permitting of course. Having the forest walks just down the road was an added bonus. Friendly hosts Jacki and Campbell were available if required, the welcome pack left for us was a very nice touch and much appreciated. Great base for touring the area. Having parking and shops on the doorstep made this an ideal location. Would highly recommend Dalnahaven.

Ideal location for exploring the highlands. This property is in town and not rural although the woods are 2 minutes walk. Great butchers round the corner as is the co-op for any food shopping.

The cottage was comfortable & had everything we needed . Location was excellent, shop , pubs & takeaways all within a very small walk . Don't let the comments about parking put you off , wasn't a big issue , I think the most we had to walk from the car was about 20 yards! Would recommend.

Had a great time here.

The property is well equipped and so conveniently located for everything in the local area from shops to walking trails. A little further afield and there are beaches to walk on and mountains to climb, or ski down. We would be happy to go back there next year.

The is a superb well-equipped cottage located just off the main square in Grantown.

Easy access to local shops, pubs and restaurants. Five minutes from walks in nearby woods which are great for two legs and doggy walks. Easy access to Aviemore, surrounding towns and attractions. Owner easily contactable and helpful.

We have been at Dalnahaven twice this year and on both occasions everything has been perfect .

The comfort at the house and it is in a great place for the town also for the dog the walks are great. We are looking forward to returning next year.

The cottage was well equiped and very clean, it would have been helpful if there was a note on how to use the central heating as it was sometimes chilly in the evening.

We had a very relaxing holiday, the only other thing was the parking as there was a vets surgery across the road, and we stated before we left the TV which we did not use kept coming on at 10pm evvery night, but this did nothing to spoil our break. We would keep in mind this cottage for another break.

This was a clean, comfortable and quiet holiday cottage in a brilliant situation - minutes from the shops and minutes from some forest walks.

There was more than enough to interest us in Grantown and within fifty miles of it and we've already decided to come back next year.

A lovely bungalow in a quiet area.

Comfortable and spacious. Convenient for the shops and eateries and for walks. Have stayed here before and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Spotlessly clean, warm and cosy.

Slept like logs, which is unheard of. Very quiet location, even with being opposite a vets. Onstreet parking was the only issue for us, we found it very difficult to park anywhere near until after 7.30pm when the vets went home. Ideal location for exploring this area.

The cottage was beautiful, very clean, and after a hard days walking the extremely comfortable bed put me to sleep straight away, never met the owners in person but Jackie sent me a very informative text before i rang just to make sure everything was ok,

2 great things - The cottage itself is super comfy and not lacking anything in terms of things you'll need for your stay.

The bathroom is a wonderful place! The location is 2nd to none if you've brought your 4 legged friend. Aganach Wood is huge and is 2 minutes walk down the street.

It is well situated for shops cafes etc. Anagach Woods a couple of minutes from the cottage with its lovely trails great for our dog, walkers and cyclists. Stayed over New Year and the cottage was beautifully decorated for the festive season. Grantown very quiet this New Year due to Covid so we spent more time that usual in this comfortable cottage which is testimony to how at home we felt. Lovely welcome pack for us and our dog. We would not hesitate to recommend this property.

Well presented spacious cottage in a great location.

Shops and restaurants a 2 minutes walk, as is the high street. A quiet location even though close to the town centre. 3 minute walk to local woods with plenty of tracks for 2 and 4 legged friends. Welcoming pack on arrival was a nice touch making a pleasant start to holiday. Really enjoyed our time here and will book again. I've no qualms about recommending this cottage.

Fantastic cottage and we really couldn't fault it!

There was everything there you could possibly need and it was so clean! Jacki and Campbell are great hosts and the welcome basket and Doggy treats etc were much appreciated!

Great house in a great spot with everything on the doorstep, eateries, pubs and shops.

Plenty of walks both short and long within walking distance of the house. The house itself is one level, very roomy with everything you would expect from a holiday home. Large lounge with good size TV and reclining sofas for extra comfort, large bathroom with power shower and good size bath. Kitchen area more than adequate, we were especially impressed that the owners have gone the extra mile in respect of Covid protection protocols, clean and disinfected right through and even all the dishes, knives and forks, cups were placed in the dishwasher prior to arrival and deep cleaned. We have visited this house before and will not hesitate in visiting again in the future

Absolutely brilliant, spotlessly clean, xerycomfortalble and everything provided that you need, owners were so friendly and helpful, shops and pubs a few minutes walk, do not pass this by, highly recommended.

Dalnahaven had everything we needed for our families week long break.

It was very handy and close to amenities with the comfiest beds and although centrawas quiet at night. The owners were so accommodating when we had to change our travel plans last minute

Dalnahaven is a lovely house in the centre of Grantown.

The kitchen is spacious with good cooking facilities and the bathroom is amazing! The two bedrooms are a good size and the beds are really comfortable. The living room has two comfortable sofas and a fire stick to allow for additional tv choices. The town itself has everything you could need with a Co-op across the road, take aways and restaurants as well as some amazing walks on the doorstep

Dalnahaven is an excellent property.

Spacious, comfortable, clean everything you could need . Slightly on the downside is no off the road parking, although we did manage to park somewhere near each time we went out.

The bathroom was very nice and modern the lounge was ok WIFI ok as was the tv the large bed could do with a new mattress there was a lack of t towels two for a week and bath towels I mean one bath sheet and one towel is not enough per person for a week, and the net curtains up at the windows makes the place look a bit dreary and maybe the garden could do with a few more pots with plants to cheer the outside up, But on the upside we had plenty of hot water and a dishwasher for when we had a meal in also loads of places to eat out in town

The house backs on to an undertakers’ rear entrance.

The kitchen window looks directly on to it so you can seen the cars, private ambulance, etc. While this did not bother us, other than to serve as a daily reminder of our own mortality!, we feel strongly that this needs to be made clear as there are times in all of our lives when this would be a very upsetting location.

A great place to stay, with all the facilities you would need and within a short walking distance of the town centre and the many varied shops, the forest walks and the fabulous golf course.

We have everything we wanted in the bungalow with good quality equipment and plenty of choice on the super tv. We will be back there, we didn't do everything we wanted. Well done to Jackie and Campbell, plenty of contact, and a few welcome gifts on arrival. Can't be beaten.

What a holiday should be like

Lovely cottage with all facilities and more besides.

In an excellent location. Close to the shops and the local woods for lively walks. Short drives to Aviemore Tomintoul etc. Would highly recommend. We will certainly return to this cottage.

Lovely little bungalow in the very centre of Grantown, close to all amenities and a great base for a holiday in the Cairngorms.

The house was very comfortable and it felt like there was everything you could possibly need.

The outdoor seats and tables and the shed we used to store our bikes were very much appreciated. The welcome pack was a lovely touch and having all the basics available like hand soap, cleaning products and the like was great. The Wi-Fi was excellent - much to our teenager's delight! The tiniest alteration that would make a big difference would be to have some more crockery - it was fab to have a dishwasher, but more plates and bowls would have meant not having to run it so often.

The cottage is lovely - well positioned and the facilities were very good.

The welcome gifts were very thoughtful - it was absolutely everything that we wanted. There is plenty of on street parking and we never had a problem with this. We are looking forward to a return visit in the future.

The cottage was spacious, clean and well furnished.

It Is right in the centre of the lovely little town of Grantown-On-Spey. Close to shops , pubs and restaurants. There are lots of lovely walks from the house and in the wider area.

This pet friendly bungalow was perfect for our week in Grantown-On-Spey , plenty of room both inside and outside the property for our dog Jack to wander round with secure garden space.

Each room was spacious with an open plan living room and dining area, kitchen was excellent as was the bathroom and main bedroom. This accommodation is in a perfect position for access to everything, pub, eateries, walks all just a short walk from the garden gate. We arrived to a lovely welcome pack which included some treats for our dog who enjoyed daily long walks in the forest which is located just down the same road the property is on. Excellent week and we intend to stay here again

We had an amazing time celebrating Christmas at Dalnahaven.

Christmas tree and decorations provided made it feel just like home. Jacki and Campbell left a welcome pack which was greatly appreciated. It was lovely to meet them and they made us feel like friends after a few minutes chatting. We would recommend Dalnahaven to anyone - location in the town, the area in Scotland is perfect any time of year. We will be back.

We found the cottage very clean and comfortable and the proprietors were there when needed they even went out of their way on Saturday to come and help us with the heating and they really made us feel welcome.

The cottage is ideal for visiting the local area and only a few minutes walk from the town and all the amenities. Will definitely be going there again despite the drive up from the Midlands but what a drive the most scenic road in Britain is the A9.

We've just spent a lovely week at Dalnahaven in Grantown.

This cottage was perfect for us - it is very comfortable, there's lots of room and its location right in the heart of Grantown is excellent. The communication and welcome from Jaki and Campbell was first rate too. Milk, wine, crisps and dog treats! Would highly recommend this as a place to stay if you're looking for self-catering in this area.

The cottage was of a very good standard, situated in the heart of the Highlands.

It was easy to access all the things we wanted to do and we had a very good time.

A pleasant location with easy, quick access to all town facilities as well as easy parking in front of cottage.

Forest Road itself had little traffic. These factors in addition to the comfort of the cottage exceeded our expectations. I must add the town and local scenery are wonderful. The shopkeepers were helpful and friendly from the butchers to Mortimers fishing shop.

Strathspey is a very beautiful area at any time of the year.

Conveniently situated, Dalnahaven is an ideal place from which to explore and a comfortable and cosy place to retreat to.

Close to shops and great places to visit. Jackie and Cambel have gone out of there way to provide this beautiful and homely place. They also are very helpful to suggest places to visit. We really can't wait to go back.

We stayed at Dalnahaven in July with our little dog and had a fantastic holiday.

The hosts were very welcoming and went out of their way to make sure we felt right at home. The cottage was really comfortable, modern and spotlessly clean. The cottage is well situated, just a few steps into the town centre yet it was always very quiet. The town is quaint, not too touristy, has good amenities and plenty of places to eat out. We were only ever a short drive from some incredible walks, beaches and distilleries. We would love to stay here again in the future and would highly recommend it.

! Such a warm welcome from the owners which left wine and milk in the fridge and shortbread biscuits! The local co-op was 1 minute walk from the property and great cafes are in abundance!!
