We had another great stay, love the peace and quiet, and the tranquil setting of the cottage. Warm, cosy and as welcoming as ever with a delightful hamper of Scottish treats and a very generous basket of logs for the woodburning stove, which we lit every night. The dogs settled right at home and loved spending time in the garden. We had some amazing walks and the Glen Clova Hotel, about 5 miles down the Glen is welcoming and serves some lovely food. We were spoilt this time with seeing wild deer and watched a faantastic aerial display of red kites all from the cottage. Sad to leave but can't wait to return. Thank you once again Hazel for a wonderful stay and perhaps next time we'll get to meet you. Have a great season, Angie & Rich (and Honey & Sadie too) x

A lovely holiday cottage in a very remote part of Scotland but not fully secure garden.

The property is a good size with good facilities, however, a fair amount of the utensils and crockery were dirty upon arrival and the washing up liquid was watered down so not great. We also had to get basics like soap and toilet paper as there was a very limited supply. We had a pleasant time at the property, very cosy with the fire on and the rain outside. I’d say the biggest problem was the fencing, the garden is a great size but the fencing is only 2 - 3 foot tall and made of large wire squares. There are gaps under the gate easy for a medium dog to get under. Our dog could easily jump the fence so had to be on lead in the garden. Larger dogs could easily jump, and smaller dogs could easily squeeze through the holes or gaps.

We LOVED everything about this cottage and had a great stay.

We had a very warm welcome and really appreciated the little hamper of Scottish goodies. A BIG shout out to Hazel, the cottage owner who went that extra mile when Storm Amy took out all our power, the first 24 hours was an experience but we just settled in for the night with the wood burner roaring and a wee little gas stove. For us the location was perfect, so peaceful and with very little light pollution and comfy beds, slept incredible well. Our 2 dogs loved the garden, completely enclosed and secure and they loved the daily delivery of chocolate buttons from the wild rabbits!! Fantastic walks and scenery. The Glen Clova Hotel, about 5 miles down the road was very welcoming, would recommend. Kirriemuir is a lovely village and has all the amenities but the larger town of Forfar is about a 20 min drive where you'll find a larger Tesco, Home Bargains etc. All in all a great stay, if there was one thing I'd suggest and that would be a nest of tables, would be a welcomed addition to the sitting room. Can't wait to return next year, we've already booked!

Beautiful cottage in a very quite area with stunning views.

The cottage was extremely clean however the decor was very tired. The owner came on our first day and delivered lots of bottled water as the supply to the cottage is not suitable for drinking which was great. Loved the added extra of mini hamper with Scottish products.

Property is comfortable but the pictures are dated.

The property needs maintenance doing on the exterior, rendering is shabby looking and Moss growing in windows edges, guttering broken and interior needs some upkeep - bashed corners with plaster missing, water leaking from water filtration system Disappointed there was no external washing line, the retractable one under sink we had no idea where it went and there was no pegs anyway. Shower fell off wall when I turned it on and husband had to repair it. No guest information book with important information such as nearest doctor, supermarket etc. Also not made aware prior to arrival that tap water is not drinking water, would possibly not have booked if known this. Bottled water provided not enough for stay so had to purchase more. Beds were comfortable and clean, as was whole property. Plenty of utensils available.

The cottage is beautiful, the locations is amazing and it was spotless. Hazel stayed in contact and was available on the phone with any queries. There is also an enclosed garden which was fabulous for our two dogs. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property.

The house was really comfortable and big, and very clean.

The shower was excellent! It has everything that you need - even a giant dog bed. To note, it's a very rural area. The WiFi is expectantly patchy and everything is a drive away - including proper dog walks that aren't along the road and the nearest supermarket is a 40 minute round trip. So just prepare for that! But Corrie Fee and Glen Clova are lovely and good for walking and visiting.

We had booked both the cottage and farmhouse to accommodate extended family and dogs and really loved it.

The only reason for 4 stars was we are used to a really good bed and pillows and these were not as good but perfectly fine for a week span us problem not theirs. Met the farmers and great to see a young couple so enthusiastic about their life and being a real family concern. Location was fantastic, both houses great and we loved it. No guest book to be able to tell them thank you.

Spent a relaxing week at White Hillocks Cottage over New Year - a warm, comfortable, well equipped house with a great amount of space.

Views from the living room are superb - scenery changing as you view it - sunrise on Glen Clova - Red Kites overhead and tits and finches on the feeders. Close to so many interesting walks and local amenities - appreciated the welcome pack and friendly chat with the owner. We plan to return!

We had a lovely stay at White Hillocks cottage.

From the minute we arrived and walked in the door we just felt at home. Everything you need for an extremely relaxing and comfortable break. The cottage has been done to a high standard and is an ideal location to explore the "Glens". The hosts were extremely welcoming, simply superb, and just really nice hard working genuine people!!!! We will be back, Drew, Lorrane, "wee Ella" & Alfie the working cockers...

This property is in an exceptional location.

We loved watching the hills as the sun was rising and falling. It is very rural which suited us perfectly. There are farm buildings on the same plot so we also saw some farm workers coming and going which added to the rural experience. The cottage itself has some very good points but also needs a little bit of updating to bring it completely up to spec. Mattresses could do with replacing or adding memory foam toppers. Sofa cushions are also on verge of needing replacing and tv could be replaced with a newer smart tv. Having said that the cottage is huge and generally well decorated. Our dog loved running around in the safe, enclosed garden. The owner Hazel is amazing. We had an issue on Sunday morning when the oven broke- the heating element had gone. I contacted Hazel and she brought us an air fryer and slow cooker to help us out- which was very much appreciated. There was a new oven installed on the Tuesday afternoon. Problems like this are always a possibility- how the owner handles it is the thing that makes the difference. This was handled superbly! The little basket of goodies on arrival was also a nice touch. We loved this cottage and it’s truly special location and would return in a heartbeat!

Overall the cottage is in an amazing location.

The views are stunning. The cottage is nice and we had a comfortable stay. Our only complaint would be that there are thick cob webs everywhere on the ceilings and top of the walls. We had 16 month old twins with us and there is plenty of space to let them run around in the living room with furniture rearranged which was great, as it meant we didn't need to use a play pen.

We had an excellent time.

The cottage is in a quiet and isolated position in a valley with great scenery, there was even a great view through the lounge window whilst sat on the couch. Everything we needed was there, cottage was spacious and warm and there was even a welcome gift. Nice location for exploring with plenty to see in the surrounding area's Internet was provided and all mobile phone networks are available, (even 3 which they say isn't available). We found our way there OK but did some research in advance. I would suggest the owners send a What3Words address with the directions to make things easier.

If you are looking for a really peaceful and quiet location within the Cairngorms, then this place is ideal.

Clear skies at night really do show all the stars. There is a significant amount of wildlife, especially Red Kites, Buzzards and Sparrow-hawks. The views from the property are absolutely stunning. There are some wonderful walks in this area. The owners are located close by for anything you need. The local shop is not too far away, located in Kirriemuir. I will certainly be coming back again in the near future.

This cottage well exceeded our expectations from the pictures.

It is so spacious and comfortably throughout and really is a home from home. The garden was perfect for our two young dogs with secure fencing all around the cottage, enabling us to leave the doors open at all times we were in the property. The kitchen is well furnished with everything you need for every meal. The lounge is just amazing and very comfortable with a dining table where our grandson sat and played his games and watched his tablet. This cottage is somewhere I could definitely live and the early morning and evening walks with the dogs was so peaceful with no noise whatsoever. There is hardly any traffic on the small road which adds to the peace. The garden is a lovely sun trap and I sat most mornings with my coffee on the picnic bench. A truly brilliant property which we will return to and enjoy the peace and comfort that White Hillocks Cottage offers and allows.

A very comfortable cottage in a lovely glen, great to get away from it all but not far from good shops in Kirrimuir and Forfar.

The large dog friendly garden was brilliant, Finn and Bella had the best holiday ever. The flowers were a lovely touch and thank you for the welcome goodies.

Lovely very rural property with enclosed and safe garden for dogs, grass could have been cut to make it more appealing.

Property was clean and tidy with nice touches added to make it welcoming along with lovely countryside views. Beds weren’t the most comfortable, could feel the mattress springs. Could do with being replaced. Distance from Kerrimuir isn’t accurate as advertised. Approximately 20mins drive from a main road.

In the advert there is no mention of there being a barn opposite the cottage, or that the internet is very slow, and there was no phone signal or Tv signal the beds are to soft and too low the same for the settee the close by roads are full of potholes left the cottage 2 days early won’t be using use again this is about the fourth time I have used you all your adverts don’t tell the full story

The holiday home is lovely but unfortunately the smell from the toilet is horrible…you need to keep the door shut at all times And one off the couch

This is the second time we have been to White Hillocks, we have been to both the Farmhouse and then this year the Cottage and we had yet another amazing stay.

It's our piece of heaven. So comfortable and everything you need, lots of walks and a lovely lodge/hotel not far down the road! Myself, husband, 14 year old son and black Labrador really enjoy our stays! We were discussing our summer holiday and possibly of Tenerife, my son said I would rather come back here so that is exactly what we are doing! White Hillocks we can't wait to come back in July!!

We had a fantastic time and the cottage was perfect for our needs.

Our Daughter joined us at the last minute and when we arrived the second bedroom had not been made up. I called the owner who turned up immediately with fresh bedding and a new frying pan. Hazel was lovely and very helpful. We tend do do our washing whilst we were away and couldn’t find anywhere to hang out the washing, which is a really minor point apart from which it was perfect.

White Hillocks is a nice bungalow and has an enclosed garden.

Direct walking routes aren’t available, so you need a car. Closeby are enough walking possibilities and Kirriemuir has a great big COOP with perfect supplies. The bungalow has all the things you need with beautiful views on the Highlands. We had a great stay at White Hillocks!

3rd time at this beautifully located cottage.

The views are spectacular and we love how quiet it is. Hazel always ensures that we have a comfortable stay and I love that she puts out many flower arrangements in the rooms. We were also left a dog bowl for use by our dog Liked the upgraded carpets in the bedrooms, these make a huge difference. Only downside is that some little bits in the kitchen could be improved. For example there were no egg cups and some of the utensils could be updated. However this would never deter us from returning.

A lovely spacious property which is well kitted out.

The owner was lovely and very easy to contact. The only minor downside is it is a bit of a journey out to the cottage from the main road which I didn't look up before booking.

Tastefully decorated, well equipped and comfortable. I would happily live in this cottage. Perfect, safe and fully enclosed garden for our dogs. The most amazing location and Hazel, the owner, is lovely. I can't recommend this property enough.

Exceptionally clean and well appointed. Lots of attention to detail - beautiful, cut flowers in vases around the property, a goodie bag for our dog and a box of treats for us - very gratefully received, thank you. And the location is idyllic, with a plethora of wildlife to see and some lovely walks nearby. I would recommend this property without reservation.

As soon as I stepped through the door the cottage was warm and welcoming.

The owner had left a welcome box , the bedrooms were clean and warm. Had a wonderful stay at the cottage and a red squirrel visited the garden daily, the start of the Cairngorms was 6 miles down the lane at Glen Doll. Lounge was very comfortable with a big basket of logs. A big thank you to the owners for making our stay so relaxing.

A great stay and very comfortable, positioned for day visits all over the Cairngorns, Deeside, Tayside and Fife, as well as several walks at the top of the Glen when we wanted to stay local.

Dogs loved the garden. Thanks to Hazel for coming down to advise us what was happening when power went off, and a great chinwag ensued on the doorstep culminating in the power coming back on. All in all very enjoyable.

Great rural location.

Really scenic views and is very peaceful. Plenty of walks nearby. The property is clean and all rooms are spacious. The supply of logs for the stove was appreciated for the wintry weather we had, Hazel left a welcome box of treats and flowers and had the house lovely and warm for our arrival. We hope to get back here next year as there are so many walks we missed. Loved seeing the newborn calves as well! The kitchen is very well equipped but could do with extra storage for a week's worth of shopping. The bathroom is huge but could do with a towel ring or rail and a vanity cupboard near the sink. All in all, a great holiday was had.

Absolutely fantastic cottage.

A real pleasure to stay in. Hassle free entry on the arrival day heating was on so lovely and warm. Christmas tree in the lounge simply perfect. Stunning views with a dusting of snow highly recommend to anyone thinking of booking.

A beautiful house which we rented to get away from fireworks with our dog.

We couldn't have picked a better location. No fireworks to be heard and the cottage had everything we needed. Very cosy and comfortable.

A wonderfully comfortable cottage, which was so well equipped that it felt like a home from home.

The garden was lovely to sit out in on warmer days, and the log burner a god send after being caught in the rain after long wet walks. The check in process was straightforward, just what we needed after a 6hr drive. Whilst I’m sure some guests like to be welcomed in person and shown around, we were all desperate for food and showers so a text with instructions was more than enough for us :) Thankyou, we shall definitely be returning.

Lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings, immaculately presented.

Spacious interior and lovely big garden which our two Boxers made the most of. It is really peaceful and the bench at the end of the garden is the best place to enjoy the sunset. The views are spectacular and wildlife abundant. The welcome pack was much appreciated, as were the fresh flowers throughout the rooms. A wonderful place to de-stress.

Next time husband says the fishing rods are being packed. First time in Scotland for our 17, 15 and 14yrs old children and they are already asking when can we go back!!!!!

We had a lovely stay at the farm cottage.

Such a nice and remote area, with a view from the living room window which was amazing. Such a nice area, loads of walking and places to explore. There is so much to do in the area, we will definitely be back to stay again. The cottage was very spacious, clean and well equipped with a nice fenced garden for the dog to enjoy. It was lovely to meet the owner Hazel, who provided a nice welcoming gift basket.

Fantastic setting, was just the right amount of remote - exactly what was needed 7 days without phones or tech just the countryside.

Outstanding views from the cottage. There is something for everyone, we had two children and two dogs and walked over 30 miles in 6 days - a mix of level walks through the glens and a climb to loch brandy is a must. Neveland park and obscure are about 15 minutes away in Kirriemuir alone with the oldest sweet shop in Scotland.

This was an excellent location for a relaxing break, with all the facilities you require to enjoy a relaxing break.

Central to good walking areas, and not far from Kirriemuir for shopping and restaurants.

My wife, dog and I enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing week in the heart of Scotland at the lovely Whitehillocks cottage.

From the moment we arrived, we were amazed at the beauty of the location and very impressed by the little touches the owners put in place for us. The welcome gifts, the card and the basket of logs were certainly well received. This was a stunning location and out stay was of equal comfort and enjoyment. Well worth the long drive! Thank you!

This is the second time we have stayed at Whitehillocks.

Love the new flooring throughout, makes the cottage feel warmer. Lovely welcome hamper there on arrival which even included some lovely treats for our dog. Hazel had even written us a beautiful card for our stay. We really love coming here. Beautiful views even when the weather isn’t great. It’s so quiet which is what keeps us going back. We enjoyed so many wonderful walks in and around Glen Clova and Glen Esk. The Arbroath cliff trail is a must if you love the coast! Far enough away from Kirriemuir to not be caught up in town life but not too far away for the essentials. We got an Asda delivery the first night so it is accessible for the supermarket delivery. We will be returning again next year and we cannot wait!

Fab holiday.

Hazel was really welcoming and helpful. We had a fab week exploring the glen, climbed Loch brandy and a few other walks. The river shown on the pictures is fabulous and only a short drive away. We spent a few afternoons paddling in it with the kids and dog. All in all great week and lovely cottage.

Good location as a base for walking the hills of the Angus glens, particularly those in Glen Clova.

Lovely location however a bit too isolated for us 18 mile round trip to nearest village

Hazel was so friendly and helpful and if I had any queries got back very promptly.

Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to be a bit remote but not far from shops. A very nice Welcome Box was left for our arrival which was a lovely touch. If we ever wanted to come back to this area of Scotland again would come back here and would recommend it.

Well presented and very spacious cottage with great views in a lovely location.

Owner very quick to help when we had a problem with the tv. Excellent and thoughtful welcome pack which included dog treats too. Highly recommended.

The only criticism we have is that there was an ironing board and no iron and it would be nice to have a of an information pack regards to bins and a bit about the area would be nice to, otherwise it was amazing.

Lovely location, peace and quiet just what we needed.

Owner lovely lady left a welcome parcel for us and the dogs. Perfect for getting away from it all and walking.

This bungalow exceeded some of my expectations, it is well into Glen Clova, I had begun to fear it was nearer the local town than I wanted.

Following the sat nav further and further into the countryside I was delighted. OK so there was no mobile signal, what do you expect so far out. There was WiFi, a little intermittent but for the most part a good speed. The bungalow was generally clean not spotless but good enough, the bathrooms were very clean. The building could have better presented externally. It was warm with CH and a log burner. Communication with the landlady by email was instant and helpful. We did not book a £800 / week cottage it was less than £500 and turned out to be very good value.

Owners were lovely and very helpful, the cottage is in a stunning location surrounded by wonderful views .

Worth noting that there isn't a dvd player and the kitchen is a bit lacking in terms of not very many pans and no caffetiere! A folder with information on bin collection, places worth visiting etc would also be helpful. Generally a very nice place to have spent a week though and I would recommend it to others. Welcome pack was a very nice touch.

Really made an effort foe Christmas and i was so grateful.

Outstanding little extras, really caring owner and was helpful when i had questions. The home was so cozy and really allowed us to relax from our busy lifes. The walks near by are breath taking and please go to the the glen doll. Thank you for amazing break away before christmas

Beautiful views and great facilities.

The welcome basket was a nice gesture and the cupboards had coffee, tea, sugar, tomato sauce etc - all the things I normally forget!! We're already trying decide when we can go back

The cottage was as we expected very comfortable very clean and in a beautiful valley hope to go back in a few years time.

Some of the floorboards need attention through out the cottage.

Do NOT turn OFF the cooker at wall plug as then the oven has to be reset before use, which means pulling all paperwork for cooker. Other than that the cottage was lovely the garden is safe for my dogs the location was great for the views.

The cottage is fantastic, surprisingly larger than we envisaged, beautifully decorated, furnished well and had everything we needed.... beds were super comfy! Lovely enclosed garden which was great for the dog and the wifi kept the teenage kids happy. We arrived late afternoon, the cottage was lit and lovely and warm, with a smashing welcome box for us and the dog. Location is stunning, lovely views and plenty of country walks in the surrounding area. We will definitely be returning!

Had a really nice time at White Hillocks Cottage.

We arrived early and the owners were very accommodating. The cottage itself was bigger than we thought it would be with plenty of room to spread out. We felt safe walking around the farm with our two girls, who loved riding their bikes around. There is plenty of room away from the road for this. The village is about 20 minutes away so not easily right on the doorstep, but it does give a nice sense of isolation. The people at the farmhouse had a Tesco's delivery so this is presumably an option to get groceries. There are plenty of walks and things to see, and we were fortune with the weather sitting in the sun most afternoons.

The cottage was very comfortable and warm and had a dishwasher, fridge, freezer and washing machine, plus wi-fi.

Not only was there a welcome box of Scottish food for the humans, but a bag of treats for the dog! The setting is on a farm with views of the hills on either side, with lots of room for parking. Although you can't see it on the photographs, the bathroom has a good shower as well as a bath. When we contacted the owners about a slight problem, they responded quickly and were very friendly. No hesitation in recommending Whitehillocks cottage for a stay, especially if you want to walk in Glen Clova. It is worth taking your own teatowels and dishwasher tablets, although there are some supplies under the sink.

Had a great holiday at White Hillocks Cottage in Glen Clova Weather not great but a couple of nice days turned very windy last two days but did not stop us getting out and walking around the glen and further afield Cottage was great everything you could need and lovely views

We were not sure what to expect from our booking but on arrival we were more than happy with what we found.

The cottage was very clean, tidy and welcoming. There was a welcome pack not only for us but also for our dog. The owner paid a visit to see if all was well and if there was anything additional needed. It was overall a very pleasant, re!axing stay. Highly recommended.

A well equipped clean cottage in a peaceful rural location.

Excellent location for a walking holiday exploring the glens of Perthshire and Aberdeenshire. Wildlife in abundance in the area including deer pheasants, partridge, ducks geese rabbits.

We had a great time exploring area and the weather was perfect. Fenced in garden which was great to let the dog wander round without worrying about escaping. Everything we needed here and kids loved playing hide and seek.

We loved the cottage it was beautiful , clean and owners were very friendly and helpful when I asked about nearby restaurants and days out, we will be staying again.

Could not have had a better time!

! Hazel and Rory were an absolute joy to deal with and were very helpful! The cottage is as the pictures suggest and then some!! The kids loved exploring it when we turned up as it’s quite the Tardis!! The local landscape is breathtaking and there are discoveries to be made each day, the river to the rear of the property was quite the hit with my children who had a great time wading in it. We were very sad to leave and will most definitely be booking again!

Lovely comfortable cottage.

Furnishings were modern and it had everything you required. Could not fault it. It was a credit to the owner who had done such a lot of work to it in such a short time. The owner was very helpful and friendly.The location was ideal, peaceful and in a beautiful setting. Would certainly use again.

We had a fabulous stay at White hillocks cottage.

Facilities in the cottage were great and the bed was lovely and comfortable. The garden is well fenced and safe for the dogs and we found some fabulous woodland walks in the area away from livestock. Kirriemuir is a lovely town with adequate facilities and a great path network which we used on numerous occasions. Cortachy has a fantastic riverside walk and Glen Doll worth a visit for spectacular views. We enjoyed seeing plenty of wildlife with the cheeky red squirrels and pheasants and grouse regular visitors to the garden. All in all a very relaxing stay in a beautiful area.

Oh my goodness.

Where do I start. White Hillocks Cottage was lovely. It was just as we hoped. It was perfectly decorated and furnished. Bedding and towels supplied were luxurious. There was plenty of wood for the fire which was great. There was a welcome box which was lovely and even treats for the dogs. There were supplies of most things in the cupboard and a bottle of fresh milk too. It is such a rural location, surrounded by wildlife, cattle and game. Its about 6 miles down to Glen Clova and hills to climb to Corrie Fee. Its about 8 or 9 miles to Kirriemuir which is a sweet little town. Scotland completely captivated us and we will be back to White Hillocks.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the cottage, loved being where we were and were exceptionally lucky with the weather.

Only two slight issues. No outside seating areas and no washing line available at this property. The welcome basket was very welcome and most generous. We loved our stay.

Very quiet and peaceful.

Very large property though there were only 2 of us with 2 small dogs. Bathroom was huge and the shower was very powerful - really liked this. Beautifully furnished with quality oak furniture. Bed very comfortable. Wood burner in the lounge but unfortunately the weather was warm and we did not have the opportunity to try it. Kitchen and utility room were well-appointed. Large dining room. .Scenery was fabulous and there was plenty to see in the area.

We had a fabulous holiday, the cottage was very clean, comfy and well equipped.

Great location for exploring the Cairngorm National Park.
