"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Enchanted Cottage, it was even more Charming than it was portrayed on the website."

We particularly liked the tasteful ornaments which were scattered around the Cottage, which added a magical touch. It was great to be able to go glamping, in a completely self-contained Cottage. The Welcome pack was well thought out, and had the essentials we needed, when we first arrived. We enjoyed a leisurely stroll to the nearby beach, and watched the Sun go down. However, we would not be able to have walked there in five minutes, as advertised, even if we had walked very fast! We used the nearby amenities, including the bar on the site, and the fish and chip shop on the way back from the beach. The staff in both cases, we’re friendly and very helpful. Some of the cupboards in the kitchenette, were not left in a very clean condition, which was disappointing. We had to wash some of the crockery and glasses, before we could use them. The biggest issue, was that the outside light in front of the Cottage was not working. As a result of this I tripped, in the dark, on the uneven ground, and almost fell. This would have been serious, as I already had a broken arm, and this would have almost certainly added to my injuries. We reported this to the receptionist on the camping site, as we were leaving. Despite the above, we would definitely recommend the Enchanted Cottage, and plan to stay there again at some point.

"The cottage was a lot smaller than it looked in the photos and unbearably hot with no way of cooling it down."

It was over 30 degrees in there during the day and just under 30 at night. There was a bright green light above the door that shone right in your eyes when you're in bed and kept us awake. The listing said WiFi is included in the rent. It isn't. You have to pay extra, and it barely works, just keeps disconnecting all the time. There is a big window on the bathroom door with no curtains, and if you're sitting on the toilet, you can actually make eye contact with the neighbours out on their decking. You have to be careful walking on the floor with no shoes, as it's unfinished wood and there are staples which can be quite sharp. The park itself is really nice and the staff are lovely, but I wouldn't stay in the enchanted cottage again.

SNETTISHAM

Heacham 3 miles; Royal Sandringham 4 miles; Hunstanton 5 miles.

Snettisham is a traditional Norfolk village, with many of its houses built from the local iron-rich carr stone, which has an attractive golden-brown colouring. Due to this, the buildings are known locally as “gingerbread houses”. Village amenities include general stores, a Post Office, 2 inns, a bistro and a regular bus service to the bustling, family-friendly seaside resort of Hunstanton and historic King’s Lynn. The church of St Mary sits alone on top of the hill and is certainly worthy of a look inside at the exquisitely decorated tracery flowers on the west window. There is an RSPB bird sanctuary close to the beach, which is three miles away, and the ancient Peddars Way public footpath runs near to the village. Park Farm is on the edge of the village, and is a working farm with year-round activities for all the family, including a 45-minute “deer safari” and the chance to feed some of the animals. The Royal Estate of Sandringham, whose impressive house, gardens and church are open to the public, is nearby, as are the plant farm, tea rooms and gift shop at Norfolk Lavender, England's premier lavender farm.
