What guests are saying
We had a lovely week at Birch Cottage.
The owner was very responsive to queries and came around within a few minutes of our reporting a problem with the EV charger (our fault...user error!). The accommodation was comfortable and clean and the kitchen very well stocked with pots and pans, crockery and cutlery. It was great for our dog too as the grounds of the property are secure. The location is very convenient, being just on the outskirts of Norwich and is was an easy walk to the nearest pub, co-op and pizza takeaway.
Birch cottage was the perfect accommodation for holidaying with two older teenage children.
Everyone had a bedroom and a bathroom to themselves and having an extra living room meant that our teens could easily take themselves off if they needed space. The cinema room was an added bonus for us as we love to watch films together so we made great use of that in the evenings. We would definitely look to book again if holidaying in Norfolk and have already recommended it to friends.
The bungalow is in a great location for exploring the area with plenty to do such as hiring a boat to bob about on the broads or enjoy a trip on the paddle steamer.
Riverside is great for shopping and the village of Brundall is in walking distance for the pub, takeaway or a food shop. Crazy golf is just up the road and there are local fishing areas. Great Yarmouth is worth a day trip. In the bungalow, the beds are uncomfortable and the bedding could be a better quality for a good night's sleep. The two seating areas are useful although the big sofa smells sweaty and requires a good clean. The kitchen would benefit from an air fryer and some more utensils like a decent cheese grater, some serving spoons and a good chopping board. The photos of the garden are deceiving as it looks much bigger than it actually is. On the whole, we had a great family holiday but I wouldn't visit for a second time. The comfort of the mattresses really let it down.
