2 Ysgoldy

We absolutely loved our first stay at 2 Ysgoldy.

The cottage is located in a lovely, quiet area with a big playing field and park at the end of the lane (which was perfect for our two boys to burn off some energy before bedtime!). The cottage itself was beautiful, clean and comfortable. Nia and Dean were the perfect hosts, going above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and safe for our boys - they even bought and fitted another stair gate when I texted to query. We could not recommend their lovely accommodation enough! Thank you again, Nia and Dean - we very much hope to stay again next year!

I have stayed at 2 Ysgoldy on a number of occasions in the past few years and it will be place I will certainly visit and stay in again.

It is close to my family I visit and in a beautiful area so close to the Carneddau. Parking could be a problem for families with large cars I have never found it a issue.

Fantastic cottage, clean with all the essentials.

The fan was a bonus during such warm weather! Also the stair gate was perfect for us. Thank you!

We chose this accommodation as the perfect location for sight seeing and Zip World.

Only a weekend stay but feel like we hit jackpot. The cottage was spotless and very charming. We found it a little hard to find when we first arrived and the turning is tight, I would just say if you have a large car it could be tricky so be prepared. Exceeded our expectations in more ways then one. Thank you very much Nia and Dean.

Lovely place with a lot of space, great communication with host, easy parking, and convenient to visit Snowdonia, Conwy and other sites.

There were small things (could sometimes hear the neighbors like Sat late night when they came home and started playing dance music at 2am - it wasn't super loud but you could hear the thumping) but overall it was a lovely stay. One thing to note is that turning onto the house's street is a bit narrow and can be tricky so you definitely don't want to have a big car.

We were very cold when we arrived but were soon warm & cosy. We will definitely book this accommodation again.

Everything was clean, the interior is really nice and we would happily stay here again. Really appreciated the tea/ coffee/ waffles left out for us when we got here. It's really well situated for exploring North Wales. Highly recommended!

Pros: lovely view out of the second bedroom window.

The sofas are comfortable, the TV is large and has netflix. The kitchen has everything you can ask for. Small courtyard garden with beautiful flowers. The beds are ok, not the best I've stayed in but not the worst either. The owners left little sweet treats which was a nice touch. Cons: To get to the property there is a really tight turn between two houses (which have been clearly hit a few times), if you drive a van like me, it's not practical. The neighbour was out of his house and telling me where and how to park before I even got out of the van, not what I needed after a long drive. We tried to have a nice evening outside in the garden and within seconds the neighbour came out and was lingering and interrupting our conversation, smoking whilst hanging over the fence, then his wife came out, so we decided to eat dinner indoors. The play area is used by the local children everyday but they stop screaming by 9pm. The floorboards upstairs!!! They make so much noise, you can't walk around without everyone knowing about it. Overall the house itself is beautiful and you can tell the owners have put their heart and soul into it, but outside factors mean we wouldn't choose to stay again.

This is the second times I've stayed at 2 Ysgoldy and I'm sure it will not be the last.

Spacious inside with modern decor, but retaining a cosy feel! Situated in a quiet, picturesque location. It was a great base for us whilst in North Wales visiting family nearby, but will also be ideal as a base for visiting nearby attractions like Snowdonia,Zipworld,Betws-y-Coed, Anglesey, etc. All modern comforts provided and a nice touch to provide us with some little welcome treats!

The cottage is fabulous.

Really well looked after and has everything you need. However, the access road to the cottage and parking space was too narrow for my vehicle to turn into.

Comfortable.

Good location to visit nearby Wales scenery. However, the entrance of Britannia Street is too narrow and have a sharp right angle turning, skilled driving is required.

Very narrow for driving down to the holiday accommodation, wasn't able to use pack the car outside the accommodation as it was on a single track road.

.. Wow ... Wow. What a hidden Gem! My family and I had a lovely stay. Vibrantly decorated which compliments the space, sauna is a great touch, and the outdoor space was just perfect. Claire our host was lovely, attentive and friendly. Truly cares about your stay. I highly recommend The Nest, you wont be disappointed.

We had everything we needed and really enjoyed our stay there. The house is very conveniently situated for the amazing Zipline, the coast, the mountains and Anglesey. Sandra, John and June.

Absolutely fantastic stay.

Great communication and friendly hosts. The directions were very helpful too. The house was spotless and comfortable, and being able to use the safety gate for our newly cruising infant was a God send. Fantastic location, quiet and neighbours were also friendly. Honestly, could not fault a single thing. We loved our time here.

We had a great week, the property is very comfortable and is in a quiet and relaxing location, away from the crowded parts of Snowdonia.

The view from the front door is fabulous. The only improvement we would suggest relate to small things - i.e. a non-slip mat for the bath, some new pans, a larger and more modern microwave, and some extra supplies of cleaning materials in the kitchen. Aside from the above suggestions, I would thoroughly recommend the property, especially for anyone wanting a quiet place to stay and from where to enjoy Snowdonia and N. Wales, but away from all the busier locations.

Having used Sykes cottages for many years I can say without doubt this is the best cottage I have stayed in to date.

Beautifully decorated,very comfortable all amenities good although try as we might we could not ignite the hob rings but nothing a match wouldn't sort. Nice to be able to relax in the back yard and have friendly chat with chap next door,I tried to do some tidying in garden and if there was a trowel n gloves would have dug brambles up that were overrunning other plants. We were so lucky with a fantastic weeks weather and nice to know we were returning to comfortable digs every night.

Perfect location.

Lovely and quiet and very peaceful. It really felt like home from home. The property was comfortable and had everything we needed for a week's stay away from home. Would go back to the property again when visiting Wales.

This cottage is gorgeous!

We wanted to explore the area and have somewhere to settle in the evenings. This cottage is so comfortable that we loved staying there. The welcome gifts were lovely and the hosts did everything to make us feel at home - from fitting a stairgate to letting us check in early. I can't recommend this cottage enough.

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at Ysgoldy.

The cottage is absolutely beautiful with gorgeous views of the surrounding area. We loved everything about the cottage, all the creature comforts and the little welcome treats were delightful. The cottage is a great location for exploring North Wales. We will definitely be booking again for next year to enjoy a longer stay.

Amazing week at this cottage.

Needed a getaway after all the craziness of the previous 6 months. What can I say. Very well decorated and equipped. Garden is a perfect suntrap and after a day on the mountains you can just chill with an alcoholic beverage and admire the views. My wife and I fully enjoyed our stay and will be back. Ideally located to get into the mountains or if you fancy going to Anglesey etc. Owners very helpful and provide good communication for arrival. This property is a credit to them. Thanks.

Lovely cottage, everything was in good condition, we enjoyed the fact that it had been recently renovated.

Great view from the patio (perfect for sunset!), we had everything we needed, very comfy bed. Only wished for a bigger/deeper frying pan when we were cooking! Definitely will happily go back another time!

Excellent accommodation the cottage had everything we needed for a relaxing comfortably holiday.

Beautiful cottage in beautiful surroundings Very comfortable and warm If I am going to find a negative it’s just the access road to the cottage which is extremely narrow Anyone with a larger vehicle would probably not get round the corner I think this should be made clearer on the description of the cottage But overall a very pleasant stay x

Its an excellent location for both Anglesey and Snowdonia.

The cottage is bigger than it looks on the photos, and really comfortable. It has lovely views and a play ground close by - handy if you have kids. The hosts were great, there if you needed them but not intrusive. Would definitely go back!

The house was modern, extremely well equipped with everything you need. Excellent communication from the owners, so everything went without a hitch. Right next door is a play park, ideal for children. We will definitely return.

A great place to stay with everything you need provided.

Clearly a lot of effort has gone into getting things just right and the little gifts on arrival were much appreciated. The location was great (although it takes a little getting use to to turn the narrow corner on the road down to the cottage) and it is close enough to Bangor to be able to pop in and out without issue. We will be back to stay again.

An fantastic cottage in a brilliant location for exploring the local region.

Situated at the end of a lane the property offers views over the stunning Welsh landscape. As a family of 4 we had more than enough room also the cottage was well equipped for dining and relaxing. 2 Ysholdy is perfect for a quiet retreat, but also great for local walks, the unspoilt beaches of Anglesey and local towns and cities. The property was spotlessly clean and the hosts were incredibly helpful. I would defiantly recommend a visit.

Very well presented, very clean and very comfortable. The owners are very lovely and always ready to help. Had to extend my stay due to professional reasons, and the owners were very helpful answering to messages promptly and providing flexible solutions. I will be sure to book again if I return to the area.

The cottage lived up to expectations.

It was clean, cosy, had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. It was a home from home. A nice touch was the bottle of Prosecco and Welsh Cakes left for us to enjoy. Would definitely book this modern, well furnished cottage again.

This Is an excellent little cottage, It has been completely refurbished inside and is excellent throughout, It is very comfortable inside and modern.

The bathroom facilities are excellent, the kitchen is fresh and well stocked. Living area comfortable and well appointed.

Having never booked a holiday cottage before I wasn't entirely sure whether it would be as good as it stated but I have to say, I was most impressed.

The listing was accurate and honest and the accommodation was even better than the photos implied! I was a bit unsure of the location at the time of booking as we were arriving by train to Bangor station and I was concerned whether we'd be limited as to where we could go but I was pleasantly surprised as there was a regular bus service that was exceptionally reliable. That said, I would take a car next time as we would have liked to explored more rural areas than we were able to but we had no problems in reaching the seaside towns of Llandudno and Colwyn Bay as well as getting to Canaerfon to pick up the West Highland Railway which took us through Snowdonia which was absolutely beautiful.
