Park up off-road and travel a short distance on foot to reach your new home-from-home.
Step indoors to be met by the lovely living/dining room, with a traditional feature fireplace encompassing a woodburning stove, perfect for lighting on cooler evenings.
Locate the galley kitchen, compact yet well-equipped for a self-catered stay, where you can prepare meals, ready to be enjoyed around the dining table, or outdoors in the front garden.
Soak up the rural views surrounding the area by enjoying an alfresco affair with your favourite tipple in hand, before retiring to one of two double bedrooms.
Awaken to a refreshing shower in the ground-floor shower room, before heading into the village to stock up on the essentials, to dine out at a local cafe, or to stroll along River Conwy with your furry companion in tow, before reaching the Conwy Valley Railway Museum, Fairy Glen hiking area, or the thrill-seeking attraction of Zip World Fforest, residing less than a mile away from your doorstep.
A retreat for walkers and cyclists, be sure to traverse towards Rhaeadr Ewynnol Swallow Falls Waterfall, or grab your walking boots to discover the Gwydir Forest Park, whilst the area is also home to historic properties, including Dolwyddelan Castle, and the National Trust grounds of Tŷ Mawr Wybrnant.
Take advantage of your close proximity to Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) which lies only a short car journey away and lace up your walking boots, ready for a challenging hike to the summit, or if you're seeking a more relaxing past-time, why not head to Bala where you can try your hand at a range of watersports or white water rafting on the serene lake.
For a day at the beach, visit Colwyn Bay, a lovely spot to while away the time building sandcastles, paddling the shores or simply soaking up the sun, while Surf Snowdonia is also within close reach, perfect to get the adrenaline racing!
Round off your escape in Blaenau Ffestiniog, recommended to visit Cwmorthin Waterfall, with a further Zip World Llechwedd site to take advantage of for a day out in the countryside.

What guests are saying
The cottage is quirky and you can walk into the village.
Upstairs and front room are lovely but kitchen is compact (as described) which made it quite hard to cook. We had a tasty hamper on arrival though.. thank you.
The cottage is a typical Welsh stone cottage, a bit cold and damp even in summer, compact, but well furnished and perfectly suitable as a base for a long weekend for 2 or 3 people when out in the hills etc.
However, the bathroom was pretty disgusting, the overall level of cleanliness was poor, the shower was full of mold, the shower also leaked out of the door trim, the shower door fell off one set of runners, the toilet seat was cracked and moved around when sat on, and there was grime protruding from under the shower tray (missing trim) and the side of the sink where the white goods didn't finish flush against walls etc. There was also a dubious electrical connection of the electric towel rail (Flexi cable wrapped in mouldy electric tape), and there was an extraction unit but it didn't work (or is just a passive air vent above the shower?) The fridge could also benefit from some extra cleaning between guests. But overall cleanliness elsewhere (just dust and cobwebs) was expected from a cottage where there aren't clean lines that are easy to clean etc. As previously reviewed, a location to store cupboard food would be a benefit, rather than a shopping bag on the floor.
A lovely, characterful cottage.
Many thanks to Alwen for her kindness and helpfulness.
